1. Go to settings on your Fire TV and then select Equipment control.
2. Select Manage equipment and scroll down to TV and then select change TV. Follow the on-screen guide to set the Fire Stick to the manufacturer of the TV.

I want that screen to stay on, not turn into a black screen when not used. it's not the same as Roku which always stays on the home page on TV.

It sounds like the device is going into sleep mode due to inactivity. Currently, the Fire TV Stick doesn't support a native setting to turn off the sleep mode. Called Amazon with serial number information and they confirmed fire stick was a copy not authentic. Manager was nice enough to give me a refund for my time and trouble.

I definitely do not like the hour glassing that occurs while watching a football game or movie even though I purchased a monthly subscription for a live TV package.
