My son is 6 and is justvstarting to read so the audiobooks were a must have with the kindle. I've been theiugh audible and amazon support with no resolution.

LOVE the fact that it is in color and has a cover. Great size and seems to be pretty sturdy, which is critical with kids. My only issue with this (and all kindles) is the crazy convoluted system amazon uses to order and buy books. Why does it need to be so complicated?

It does not have the yellow shadow at the bottom that others have complained about. The colors remind me of old newspaper comics. The screen is easy on the eyes and it is so fast! I bought the kids version even though I’m an adult because I liked the case and it comes with the 2 yr warranty. Best Buy was fast and friendly. I bought it online and just picked it up in store. In and out in 5 minutes.

There are a few workarounds to load your own books. Which i'm happy to do.. The only grape I have about this is why it didn't come with the same screen for the scribe.
