Using the Oasis now is hands down the best e-reader today! But! Do I want to spend that kind of money on my kids whom will toss it about, leave it on the floor, or drop it in a bin when told to put things away? No! So this makes a very good buy to give them all the books they need, without taking up space, and without worrying that their face will be plastered to a digital screen all day long. This is a great buy for children, take away the tablets and the phones, at least most of the time. I love to play games with my kids too but they need most of their time off of digital screens. This is perfect for helping with that! And at a price that I won’t feel terrible about if by chance (high chance admittedly, they’re kids) they break it!

I was replacing my old Kindle that died. I used it to download books from my library. It worked fine I downloaded and read several books. When I went to read more books from my local library they wouldn’t download. I checked out why I discovered that Amazon will not allow access to CloudLibrary you have to join Kindle’s library at $10/month!!! You need a Kindlefire to use the library. I’m not a happy camper. A waste of money. Thanks Amazon. Allow access to CloudLibrary!!!!

Love the compact size. At first we thought the screen might be too small but it’s surprisingly easy to read.

This is a very nice upgrade coming from the previous generation. The bluetooth functionality is good and flush screen is much better!

The backlight is fantastic! No need for a flashlight. It makes reading easy on the eyes.

Good for reading but you have to pay $20 extra to remove ads froms the home screen. I sideload e-books from my computer without going through the amazon store. Needs USB-C

This reader is great for all types of locations. The light makes it possible to read anywhere and the battery is super long lasting.

I got off to a rocky start with this product because it had already been set for Chinese and I do not understand Kanji. I was able to bluff a registration with appropriate guesses but could not get rid of the Chinese. It took sometime with Amazon Tech and great guesses on my part to get to English. The problem was complicated because the English version relies on Icons like a globe and the Chinese version of Settings in Kanji. Amazon brags that the battery charge lasts for weeks, not if you turn up the page to white.

I used to read books on my phone. This kindle is so much better to read on. I love it. It’s easy to use.
