Not a fan of the flush face.

I'm not a huge fan of the totally flush front. It's too easy for my thumb to slip off the edge, onto the page, inadvertently turning the page. This was never an issue with the old style Paperwhite with the lip around the edge. Other than that it's great. I've owned almost every version of the Kindle since the original in 2007. The Paperwhite is definitely the best of the bunch, but I preferred the previous version slightly.

Someone needs to really rethink how the home screen plays out. When I first started reading on the kindle it was so much easier to see my new books that I haven't read and to separate and categorize. When they updated to this current format things just got very confusing. Apple does the same thing with their I-Tunes. Confuses the check out of me. Make it simple.

The backlit display and the dark mode options make it easy on the eyes. Minimum to no glare under bright and indoor light conditions . Screen refresh for page turn, search results is sluggish but bearable. Good reading options for kids with "Amazon Free Time" subscription. I can even listen to audiobooks by connecting to a Bluetooth speaker. Claims to be water resistant as well!
