Amazing gaming processor. Highly recommended. Upgraded from a 13600k, best processor I've had for gaming. Great deal if you can get it on sale.

Got this for my brother so he could play star citizen. He's running a 3070 super and can finally enjoy in time for the engineering update.
Not to mention other games like helldivers and monster hunter.
I run this same cpu with a 3090ti. I don't see this chip being a bottle neck for a long long time.

The 9800X3D is widely known as the best gaming CPU out there, and for good reason. I upgraded from a 5800X, and I have to say, I was not expecting such an uplift in perceived smoothness during gaming. The 1% lows are just that much better.
Only thing to keep in mind with this CPU is that it can run very hot. Running Prime95 I hit 85C with a very good CPU block on an open loop water cooling system with a ton of cooling capacity. During gaming it stays a lot cooler, but if you do a lot of productivity, be prepared to spend some good money on a proper cooler.

I upgraded to this CPU, and the difference is night and day! My old processor i7 10700k was bottlenecking my GPU harshly, but now I’m finally capping out my 3080ti, actually utilizing the gpus full power. Getting higher FPS across all games.
I gained frames just by swapping to this CPU—no extra tweaking needed, no undervolting, overclocking.
Game at 4k 144hz, and this CPU will definitely let you utilize the GPU you paid for without restriction.

The 9800X3D is hands-down the best gaming processor I’ve ever owned. With its massive 3D V-Cache, it breezes through complex Paradox grand strategy titles like Stellaris, Victoria 3, and Europa Universalis, keeping late-game simulations smooth where other CPUs start to crawl. At the same time, it excels in modern AAA games with high single-thread performance, making it a true all-around powerhouse. Paired with DDR5 and a modern AM5 board, setup was seamless, thermals are manageable with a solid cooler, and efficiency is impressive for the performance on tap. If you want a processor that doesn’t just play games but dominates them, the 9800X3D is the crown jewel of a next-gen build.

AMD has become the true leader in CPUs, and this CPU is yet another winner for gaming. It easily handles the most CPU-heavy games without breaking a sweat, nearly always making the GPU the bottleneck. Installation was a breeze, requiring only a small update to my Motherboard, and with a Peerless Assassin cooler the CPU has ran quiet and cool since installation. I expect to use this CPU for years to come.

This CPU was a gift from my fiancé and it’s been an amazing upgrade for gaming especially and for other programs allowing me to not worry about opening multiple tabs, multitasking, or having low FPS in games. Its been the best CPU I’ve ever had in awhile!

It's a good chip . Mine runs cool and holds an easy -30 undervolt with a 200mhz boost clock bump. I haven't tried going more agressive. Runs extremely cool compared to the previous gen. Value wise it's whatever. Current market is just painful for pc gaming.

As I'm sure you know by now, this is as good as it gets, from a pure gaming perspective. Sure, the 9900x3d is definitely comparable. But unless you're doing more than just gaming, you won't be making up for the price difference!

What can you say that hasn't already been said? The best gaming CPU money can buy. Although the 9950x3D is a few % faster is certain games, the price to performance here is unbeatable. Coming from an i5 12th gen this was a giant upgrade in every way. With a slight under volt, I never see my temps above 66c and my power consumption is down about 15-20 watts. The only "issue" doesn't even come from the CPU itself, some motherboards may need a bios update to be compatible with 9xxx CPUs but with bios flashback it's somewhat of a non-issue. All in all, team red just can't stop winning.

It been two months since I put my new computer together just in time before the madness. Best choice of getting this CPU. Old computer was Intel CPU, I'm just amazed how AMD have grown leaps and bounds so I figured it was time for me to switch but I don't know for how long lol.

I upgraded from an older budget processor from 2019, so needless to say this was quite the upgrade. This processor handled everything I threw at it, from vivaldi with 40+ tabs, running games on 4K max settings and streaming gameplay on discord without even breaking a sweat.
Buy it. You wont regret it.

We all know these X3D processors are the BEST for gaming. This is just the latest 8 core variant. It's the best, what else do you need to know? Grab it! :)

Very overkill for gaming, get insane frames on like every game. I mostly play Valorant and CS2, on val and usually dont dip below 500 or so fps with a 4070ti. CS I usually don't drop below 350 fps playing on 1440x1080.
