Used this to transfer pictures from a MacBook to an IMac.

I used this cable to transfer my data from my old macbook to my new iMac. Transfer took about 1 hour.

This is perfect for linking two mac computers together.

I built a Windows - Mac multiple boot system using a Thunderbolt drive and therefore, I need one of these cables. I had a cable before (not Apple) and it had some issues like disconnecting my drives randomly from time to time. This cable has been working really well for me. I had zero issues so far.

Needed to transfer large music and photo library to second hard drive. From my iMac to external HD via USB it was going to take 9+ hours and then again from the HD to macbook another 9 hours, from the iMac to the Macbook via Thunderbolt directly I was done in 45 minutes, and that included the time it took to drive to the store and purchase it.

I bought this cable to rapidly transfer information from my old Mac to a new one. While it's lots faster than using an ethernet cable, the transfer speed was no faster than USB 3. I found it useful for the original transfer, but not much else.

We're past USB and Firewire, thunderbolt is crazy fast. And this chord is sturdy yet pliable. It's a good buy.

I required a means to transfer my iTunes files from my iMac to a MBP. I first attempted to use Home Sharing option in iTunes - it was convenient, but very slow. I went to Best Buy in search of a faster solution and the knowledgeable sales person recommended this cable. I was amazed at how much faster the transfer was using Thunderbolt versus to the original Home Sharing attempt. A little pricey, but time = $.

Performed very well. Allowed me to recover data, blazingly fast! I was truly amazed at the speed compared to USB 2.0/3 data transfer rate. 400+ GB of data was recovered from laptop when the graphic card went down. Was allowed to mount laptop as an external hard drive with this cable through Target Disk Mode. Pricing for off brands were about the same for Apple OEM, so i purchased the Apple brand.

I tried to save some money and bought other branded cables and both stopped working within a few weeks. This cable works great, consistently. Worth the extra few bucks.

I was looking for a solution to transfer my ITunes library to from my iMac to MBP. The iTunes Home Sharing option worked, but while convenient, was slow due to WiFi bandwidth limitations. Thanks to recommendation of a bright and knowledge Best Buy professional, I purchased this cable and was genuinely amazed at how fast the files transferred over Thunderbolt!
