Go ahead, BUY IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first Apple computer. Before we did the PC thing like most people, because they're cheaper. The iMac or a Mac period is pretty expensive. For the longest time we put off buying a Mac just because they are so expensive. We tried the Windows 7 thing and of course like normal with Windows, you have it for a while and it gets slower and slower. I am a photographer so having a reliable computer for editing and such is a pretty big deal. I have went through serval brands of PCs and I've realized, with a PC it does not matter what brand you buy... You still have the same slow operating system. After I had enough of my last PC and could not take anymore of it freezing up while trying to get work done, I decided to go for the Mac. It was the best choice ever! I've had my iMac now for a year and it has NEVER froze or even slowed down for that matter. And the display is simply AMAZING! If you're going into photography definitely get the 27". I've found Macs to be very reliable computers. I know the price is high but if you are wanting something that is going to last a while and not slow down and get a virus and stuff like that, then go for the Mac. It pays.

Everything it's touted to be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An expensive move from an old PC, but 100% worth it so far. Value for price is still amazing because so far this computer has: not frozen, boots up in seconds you can count on two hands, build quality I've never seen before, amazing graphics performance, awesome support (I called for helping transferring my iTunes library - incredibly helpful and fast), taught me how to use the included programs via help or online tutorial, and just plain worked straight out of the box. It discovered my two year old wireless printer for which I do not have the drivers, told me it was searching and installing drivers, and started printing from it. I haven't even really skimmed the surface of what it can do in this first week. Thus far, I'm extremely impressed and happy with my purchase.

Worth every penny.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always wanted a iMac, but they are a little pricy so when Best Buy was offering 24 months no interest I went for it. The picture is so very, very pretty. The i5 processer is very fast. I purchased mine for personal use. I always buy the Best Buy protection plan and it came in handy. About 8 months after I purchased the iMac the hard drive failed. I did not lose any thing but I had to purchase an external hard drive to back up my computer while Best Buy had it shipped off for repairs. The Best Buy staff was very helpful and no hassle to have the computer fixed. Its working great now and I am very pleased with my iMac and Best Buy for there customer service and outstanding warranty.

Great computer & easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is wonderful for a family. Its so easy to set up Parental Controls for my younger ones & limit what my older ones can do/see. I love the speed & how easy it is to transfer items from my old computer & set up things such as e-mail/calendars. The kids play on it all the time taking pictures & making videos. So far, its been worth every penny.

Great iMac, Go Buy One!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is I use PC's and Macs, I deal with PC's; I love my new iMac! This computer is super fast, has a sharp 27" display and is great for the home user or offers great power so its great for video editing, graphic arts pros. You can add up to a total of 16 GB of ram to make it a true all in one work horse. Features simply plug and play operation; If you are new to macs all I can say is they "just work" Just plug it in, remember you email passwords and you are up and running. In the event something does happen Apple has top rated USA customer service. One thing that I like is that Apple makes the computer and the software unlike a PC so if you have an issue one call will usually fix an issue or answer a questions you may have... again, with a USA call center and friendly educated people to take your call!! Some reviews say an existing printer may not work with this iMac. That can be true. It is the responsibility of the printer manufacture to keep new software / driver updates available to keep up with the new computers and operating systems that are arriving on the market. Check the printers site to see if updated software is available or it it works with this Macs operating system. I have found that iMacs hold value better than PC's. if you sell and trade up every few years you may end up with a good portion of the initial investment back that can go towards a new one! Over all this new iMac is a very fast, solid, reliable work of art! Best Buy has optional fast expedited shipping that is a great value and much less expensive than most places if you need it fast. I got mine delivered to my door in less than 48 hrs from the time I placed my order. I have found Best Buy is very conservative on shipping and processing time, estimated delivery date with the expedited shipping option. I always get my products extra fast and less expensive than most retailers if I choose the faster shipping option at checkout. Just go buy one you will love it!

Amazing computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer. I added 8g of ram giving it a total of 12 gig and it simply doesn't wait on anything. I run Windows 7 using Parallels in a desktop window, I need this for work, and I never see hesitation or have any problems using both at the same time extensively. Of course the display and the colors are awesome! The wireless radio in this is amazing. It pulls in and locks on strong to signals I can't get with my laptop, iPad, or any other computer.

Not a ding on Apple!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This iMac rocks!!! Issue came up when I went to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM. The middle screw was stripped to the access panel where you install RAM. No biggie I say, I purchased the $300 warranty for just such an occasion. Drag the thing to BestBuy where they tell me there is no way it would be stripped by Apple and further, that it voided my warranty. Last time I buy something like this at BestBuy. I purchased a $20 dollar GrabIt tool and removed the screw on my own and installed the RAM. I am very pleased with the computer. Boots Lion and Parallels instance of Windows 7 in 15 seconds. It can handle whatever I throw at it.

Great all around computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of using PC’s and being a Mac hater I started to change my thinking. One product started this trend and it is called the IPod. When it came time to upgrade my computers at home, both desktop and laptop I took a very hard look at Mac. This computer does just about everything a PC does and dollar for dollar costs about the same. Once I got this computer home and started to use it I realized that it is just the opposite of a PC. So it took no time at all to become comfortable with. The one thing I did notice almost straight out of the box is that it is more stable than a PC. Simply put it does not “crash”. The display is very bright and clear. When watching videos there is very little buffering time. The Mac operating system updates regularly and seems to be tested prior to releasing updates so that you don’t have 5 fixes for 1 update. I would recommend Mac products to anybody that wants simplicity instead of headaches. If you are a user that needs Window’s based programs you can load Windows onto this computer as well as the Mac OS. You will have to reboot the computer into either system though. However Mac’s App store also has a couple of “parallel” programs that allow Windows based programs to run with the Mac OS. The other big advantage to the Mac OS is the cost. Mac is set to release its newest OS sometime during the summer. The cost is around $30 per household. The only thing that is a pain is the CD/DVD rom placement. It is on the side of a big monitor so it's a bit of a pain to access. That's all I can find wrong with it.

Best dag-gone PC I ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was fed up with Windows and Microsoft products especially all the updates and other nonsense, security issues, multiple email problems. I had had enough. Yes the iMac27 was more money however when I considered the quality of the product (no plastic) and great componets the Microsoft comes up short. This is my first Apple product but I was so impressed i bought Apple iPhones for my service techs and an iPad for my wife over the last 6 months. One of my major concerns was we use some software that is only for Microsoft however with Parallels Desktop 7 that is no longer an issue at all. I can use my Mac or Windows from the same machine. BTW, buy the apple support it is well worth the money and they are by far the best computer support company I have ever talked to over the phone. Once you get use to the differences in Mac vs PC you will become quite comfortable. Another great thing about the iMac is multiple email accounts iMac makes this task simple and easy. I can go on & on about the pleasure in using Apple products.

woohoo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is awesome! I can't get over how fast this thing is. I upgraded from a 2009 iMac ; I didn't know what I was missing. The display is superb and super crisp, and everything just works so much faster and better. I am so glad I upgraded!

Recent switch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up with PCs, learned programming with DOS at a young age, and called it quits with PCs at Windows 7 because of performance degration...no matter what tweaks were performed. The iMac does exactly what it should do: boots up and runs. Upgrading to Lion was completely painless. For now, as I am still learning my way around the Mac, I miss the features, programs, and customization of Windows machines. With that said, I have found little need to really motivate myself to learn too much because everything has been working well without tweaking. There are still a few programs that I grew up with and miss, but with the App Store it seems that it is only a matter of time before they (or something similar) are introduced for the Mac. Overall, it is a pretty solid machine for everyday use.

Farewell to PC forever!!!

Awesome Investment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac and I am very impressed thus far. The 27" screen provides a clear and crisp display od photos, websites and documents. The iMac is very quiet but fast. It operates smoothly opening various programs. There is a bit of a learning curve but what it is supposed to do it does easily. Migrating your information and file from your old PC is as simple as clicking a few choices and it underway. I upgraded my memory and it literally took less than five minutes. The sound is nothing fantastic so I added a subwoofer and 2 more speakers for music playing. Otherwise, the speakers are fine. The clear screen will literally blow you away. The iMac immediately saw my iPad and synced with it wirelessly. I will definitely stay with Mac as I upgrade my home computers and network.

PC NO MORE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was an Apple hater for many years, it started with hating iTunes because I had an old RCA Lyra mp3 player and all I had to do was copy and paste my songs....then I tried to use iTunes for a small ipod I received and I hated it! After that (like in 2004 I believe) I wouldn't step foot in an Apple store nor even look at their products. I was a PC'er for life! lol It wasn't until I purchased an iPad for my kids last year that I fell in love with it! it was easy, it turned on when you told it to, it stayed on, and it was fast! I then moved up a notch and got my first iPhone. I LOVE MY IPHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then my beloved (not) Gateway computer (only purchased in June 2009) started to shut off whenever it wanted, blue screen pop ups, stalled mouse and keyboard, slow processing so I jumped off the mother board of all cliffs and purchased the largest computer monitor known to man! I bought the MAC with the 27" screen and its a jewel. I could NOT believe the set up....it went like this: 1. Open Box 2. Place new beautiful monitor/computer on desk 3. Plug in 4. Done I did not give the price rating an excellent because I have been debating for almost a year now on whether to purchase it or not. I was used to $499 Dell or Gateway promotions but then I got what I paid for right? I have to say I'm now a VERY happy Apple convert! :)

High end machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PRO: The screen is great. Why spend big bucks on a flat tv and a DVR when you can get this and hook up a usb tv tuner with the IMAC recording if you really want it? Sets up right out of the box. CONS: I think it's over priced, but my aunt wanted the best one on the market. I also think the sound is lacking for watching movies. You'll need to patch the audio out jack into some kind of amplification or home theater system. For these two reasons, I would not recommend it unless you really want to spend the money for a MAC.

Beautiful Computer - well worth the upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When purchasing this computer, we actually were going to get the smaller computer. We decided to upgrade to the large one and ordered extra memory from a third party and it was super easy to install on our own. There is a learning curve going from a Dell to a Mac, but the colors are gorgeous and true and Lightroom 3.6 works so much faster and better on this computer. Still will slow down when doing too many blemish adjustments to images, but it doesn't "lock-up" like the Dell used to. Very happy.

Excellent Purchase process
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item online and not only was it cheaper than buying from Apple directly, but the incentives, including 0% financing and the reward zone points made a no-brainer. First time Mac user and while there is learning curve it's a flawless machine.
