I have owned several generations of iPads since 2011 (including the original). I owned an iPad mini for 2 years and because of the (all ready at the time of purchase) slower, older A5 processor I thought it was time to upgrade. Since the iPad mini 3 is really just a mini 2 with TouchID, I went with the Air 2 and I am sure glad I did. The rear camera is much improved, however the chances are most people will not be using the iPad for anything other then a quick snapshot when their phone is out of reach, or for FaceTimeing. One the best things about this device is the display. Is it 4K? No unfortuenly. However the colors are accurate, the anti-reflective coating does a decent job, and the now laminated display (which is where the LCD panel is bonded to the glass to make one piece instead of having a gap) makes it look like the text it right there. Not hidden behind a sheet of glass, just sitting right in your iPad. This iPad also features the fastest chip yet for the iDevice line, and in fact is faster then about 95% of the other tablets out there according to Geekbench. On paper it looks like it is lagging (1.5GHz trI-core CPU, 8 core GPU, 2GB of RAM). Do not let this fool you! It's a very fast tablet and should serve you well for many years to come.

I purchased this iPad as a Christmas gift for my wife. Her previous iPad was slowly dying. She is absolutely thrilled with it.

iPads are great products to begin with but the newest version shows that Apple is still working hard to keep moving forward. Great product!

It's an iPad! Who doesn't want an iPad? If you own a iPhone you should definitely own an iPad. Beats any tablet out there.
