I purchased the Ipad with Retina Display this summer. I expected to use it predominately for games, media streaming, and e-books. However, the usefulness of the product has far surpassed my expectations. While the previously mentioned activities do take up a significant portion usage, the Ipad has proven to be a valuable tool as well as an entertainment device. The array of various productivity-centered applications on Apple's App Store that are specifically designed with Ipad in mind, allow users to take notes with efficiency, do similar, internet-based tasks that would normally require a computer, and many ways, even render a tool such as a laptop unnecessary. Another significant feature of the Ipad with Retina Display is the quality of the display itself. This particular model, at the time of its release, featured Apple's most advanced screen to date. This clear picture, when combined with the size of the screen, can translate to ease of use, and better treatment of vision. Overall, the Ipad with Retina Display is a solid purchase. With the release of another model, the Ipad with Retina Display has dropped in price, making its feature list more impressive. So long as a potential buyer has a solid wi-fi connection, it would seem wise to save a significant amount of money that is involved in the WI-FI + 4G LTE model. (The Ipad itself is more expensive, and it also requires a data plan from a wireless provider.) Certainly there are reasons not to impulse buy when technology is this expensive, however, the Ipad with Retina Display is a top quality tablet that allows users to increase both entertainment and productivity.

This tablet has got to be the best or one of the best on the market. The picture resolution is so much clearer when you compair it to an ipad2. The 1080p HD is awsome to watch movies or play games on. I have no problem surfing the web or checking emails. The 5.0MP iSight camera takes great pictures with great quality. Overall this is a great product that you will not be disapointed with. If you have an ipad or an ipad2 and you are thinking about upgrading this is definatly worth it.

I had been thinking of getting an iPad for a while but have been waiting until there was w little discount and I could save some money on it. I'm really glad I bought it. I use it all the time. I carry it all the time in my purse and it is much easier to carry than my laptop to my classes. It's super nice for browsing the web, looking at different apps, and for its overall versatility. The battery life is amazing. once you go with apple products you'll never go back.

This is by far the fastest and best looking tablet on the market. The 3rd generation iPad was already the best and this new one is even better. It'll be years before competitors catch up. The app selection is also a plus and the graphics on some of the games are Xbox quality. I mainly use this for college and it's great for taking notes and recording audio while in class.

I had the Original IPAD, very slow loading apps. I just purchased this 4th generation IPAD, and I love it, so different from the first. It loads fast, no delays, no freezing. The Retina display is great, so much brighter, and clearer. I like the Camera, nice clear picture, and I like how it has Siri. I would highly recommend this new IPAD.

I own an iPad 2 and I thought that was amazing. Works with my Apple TV and easy to use and understand. I bought the new iPad (aka) iPad 4-(according to the salesman b/c it came with the small usb port not the Apple one and comes with Suri) as a gift. Easy to set up. What I liked about the cellular At&T is that you can choose your usage (250mb for $14.99 a month. You can get more data but it cost more $). The person that will use this doesn't have wi-fi or the internet so this was perfect. We tested this out and it put my 3G iPhone 4 to shame. The 4G LTE on the iPad had no problems uploading pics and text on Facebook or whatever we did. On a side note about the cellular set-up, do it yourself! Unless you plan on downloading videos then you may want to get a share data plan with your phone company. If you are a casual user, no internet/wi-fi in your house and don't plan on downloading movies or videos then just do the monthly plan. I tried to use a pre-paid credit card and it won't expect those if you plan on buying this as a gift. If you want to cancel your plan you have to call. One last thing, on a monthly plan you're not under a 2 year contract.

After three years of iPhone 3GS use, I decided to go Mac when my PC broke down last year. I've been holding out on getting an iPad and have been drooling over them each time a new one comes out. Best buy had a great BlackFriday deal so I took the plunge and don't regret any bit of it. the best is when all my pictures & calendars, are immediately sent over to my Mac and Phone and vice versa. The retina display is amazing. I was hesitant on only 16 gigs, because I didn't want to go too overboard on myself when it was time to shop for others, but am pleased to find out that all my music and movies that are on my Mac with iTunes are accessible in my home without having to download them onto the iPad. For years I've shied away from Apple thinking they were too overpriced, but after using them for a while I've come to realize the quality they put in their products makes them worth it. I've been saying I couldn't live without my iPhone, now I don't know how I ever got by without my iPad.

The decision to buy an iPad vs any other available tablet is a difficult one, mostly because of the price. It is still the best device, and I particularly enjoy the reliability when compared to the Android tablets. Whether this is worth the additional $100-200 depends on the buyer. They all do the same thing. However, if you already own iPhone apps, this may make it more appealing (you can use any iPhone app and many are universal). If this is your first tablet, you may find better value in other tablets, or in the iPad mini if you want to go with Apple. If you have the money, this is definitely the one to get. As for the other versions, I think this is the best value, since you'll probably want to upgrade within 2-3 years and it's not worth the extra money for more storage.

    LOVING THE NEW IPAD 4!!

I've tested this device extensively in the local Apple store, and there's no doubt in my mind that it's the best version of iPad to date. For this it deserves 5 stars. As an owner of the "New iPad, aka iPad 3rd generation," however, I feel that Apple did an injustice to those who purchased it. The previous version was released to much fan fair in March 2012. This version was released a mere 7 months later, in October 2012. When I called Apple to find out why they would release a newer version so soon after the previous one, the representative who I spoke with informed me that there were problems with the 3rd generation, and as a result, Apple removed it from the market and introduced the generation 4. I have no problem with the fact that technology constantly changes, and that computers are outdated in short order. What I have a problem with, is the fact that Apple prematurely introduced the 3rd generation of the iPad knowing full well that it wasn't ready to be sold. While Tim Cook was onstage last March promoting the 3rd generation of the iPad as the most revolutionary product ever offered by Apple, he knew that it was just a stop-gap measure until the components were ready for the model that you see here. I love Apple products and have always thought that the company treated their customers in the highest regard. As a result of the above, I now feel differently about the company, not the products. As of this writing, Apple sells the iPad 2 and the iPad with Retina Display, aka the 4th generation. They do not sell the 3rd generation at all, as the one listed here is what the 3rd generation was supposed to be. I feel that this is very deceptive on the part of Apple and believe that owners of the now obsolete 3rd generation model should be given the option, for a fee to upgrade to the model presented here. I spoke with customer relations at Apple regarding the above and was told that this would not be an option. They readily agreed that there were "issues," with the 3rd generation model, but refused to tell me what they are. In this regard, they are certainly not being very transparent to their loyal customers. So, the bottom line is that the iPad with Retina Display is a marvelous device, however owners of the previous generation got screwed. I'm giving the model presented here 5 stars, because that's what it deserves. On the other hand, if I had the option to grant stars to the way Apple treated owners of the previous version, I would give them just 1 star

    Huge difference from Ipad 2

Coming from an iPad 2, this thing is fast and super sharp. It's the difference between a CRT and LCD monitor. In combination with a Zagg HD invisible shield, it's like looking through a window. While the lightning charger is smaller, it's incompatible with the rest of my Apple products. Typical move from Apple, but sucks for the consumer. Between price per GB and lightning connector, I'm giving only 4 stars.

The Ipad 4 sets the standard for screen quality and responsiveness. It's fairly powerful and has tremendous software support. It is reasonably light and the battery life is decent. Unfortunately it's glass screen is easily scratched and cracked. It is the most fragile of the major tablets. The price is also significantly higher than comparable tablets. Apple is famous for its profit margin.

You get what you pay for in a tablet. That being said, the iPad is one of the top of the line tablets. Great screen quality, and camera. App store has thousands of apps, both free and paid. Lots of games, educational apps, and fun ones too. Also, a great benefit is the amount of accessories made for the iPad. Great product.

This little device is beautiful and easy to use! We purchased it for our non-profit organization - for the ability to read credit cards, produce documents, edit our website, take event photos, advertise with social media, and have ambient music at our events. Well, it accomplishes this and so much more. My computer has given out, which has afforded me the opportunity to learn more about this device and use some of the great apps. We purchased the Logitech keyboard iPad case, and it works really well. The keys are responsive and have allowed me to continue work, even without my computer, to a good extent. Great tablet and keyboard!
