I jumped on this deal this past Christmas and finally am writing a review. I have to admit that 16 GB is not enough. I've downloaded a bunch of aps from the itunes store and almost maxed out. I found the browser very easy to use and even my mom can use to watch videos and FaceTime with her granddaughter. The video quality is excellent and the screen is crisp and clear. I have to admit after holding the ipad mini that the ipad feels a tad clunky. The web browsing is lightning fast and even faster than my laptop wifi. I wish this had a microSD slot and features that some of the Android tablets have, but for quality there is no escaping the ipad.

Wife was due for a new laptop. Replaced it with an iPad and she loves it. Its cheaper and faster for her to use instead of getting a new laptop. All the apps are available for her favorite activities and websites. Battery life is awesome. Retina display is clear but to most normal people, it probably isnt as noticable in terms of clarity unless you compare the screen with a non-retina display side by side. I looked at other tablets and felt that this was the better choice due to the number of available apps as well as the quality of the apps. Alot of the equivalent apps on andriod are there but the features/quality is not.

I am a long time Android supporter and went to Best Buy to test out different tablets and came home one weekend with two Asus tf700t's for the wife and I. Within 24 hours I had crashed mine 3 times and hers once, mine using teamviewer and basic apps and hers just running Words with Friends. Both were updated to the latest OS and returned within 2 days. I got home with two iPad (4's) and have had zero issues with either of them. The response time is never lagged, web browsing is fast (Chrome is faster on iPad than it was on the Asus... sad, Google + Google < Google + Apple. Overall I can't complain about our first Apple devices. We buy what's best not what's loyal, and Apple just has it right with tablets right now. Android may come around in a few years, but Microsoft may tear into a bit of their market share a bit. The Apple apps are 5x more polished than Android also which is another huge thing Apple has going for them. The Citrix receiver on Android is nowhere near as polished as the one on iPad.. also the UVerse app is more robust.. along with many many other apps.

Picked it up for my mom before mothers day, I have used it before and i can say it is really fast. Essentially the ipad almost replaces the computer. No longer are you tied to a table to brush up on the news, read email or just skype with someone. The ipad really liberates you, if you really wanted to you can do word docs but you will will have to buy some new apps but for general use this rocks. Quite frankily i only use my laptop now to print things or use Light Room for my pictures.

Apple iPad with Retina display is the best tablet in the market, had the great retina HD screen with fast quad core processor speed for video and word processing. Good battery life, and excellent build quantity. Only negative is the slow charging time and weight (heavier than ipad 2 and ipad mini).

I LOVE the iPad! It's beautiful, fast, has an amazing display, great selection of apps and fantastic battery life. The only con is that it's expensive.

Depending on how you use this product, the price range may not be entirely worth buying such a product. While an iPad is extremely easy to use, it may be too easy at time. As for the price range, you can buy 2 high-quality Android Tablets. What makes this iPad so great is its ability to incorporate every day apps for pleasure and for work. However, depending on how you use, an iPad may not be the best choice for you. App selection is extensive, many quality apps used for business/work need to be purchased. Android Tablets typically have free applications which work fairly well with work related applications. For pleasure, I would definitely say if you're browsing the web, checking e-mails, and watching youtube, this is the perfect device for you. If you're an artist and prefer multi-tasking and customizing your tablet, go for an Android. Additionally, this iPad is extremely large, so if you plan on reading in bed, I would recommend an iPad mini.

I have just recently purchased a black IPAD with Retina Display for my two teenage boys. They love it and why wouldn't they. It has a beautiful large retina display and the best IOS processor. It is fast, smoothe, and is great for reading and learning apps. It is also built for playing graphic-intensive games such as Modern Combat 4: Zero hour, and Asphalt 7:heat. This is by far the best tablet on the market!!!!!!!!!!! APPLE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!

I am by no means new to the iPad I have had all models except the 3rd generation. I upgraded from an iPad 2 that I had for about a year and a half. I upgraded for the display and faster processor. As expected it works flawlessly and the screen is amazing if you are watching anything in HD. Its a big difference from the 2 to this one. It is lightning fast and the screen by itself is worth the upgrade!

I have had this almost a year and its battery life is still like new and holds great charge and i use the battery up everyday. This has worked flawlessly since i bought it. It is a little expensive but i believe that if you pay a little more then you will get a better item that will last longer. This has a great screen size and it has perfect touch sensitivity for doing small thing on the screen.

Easily the best tablet on the market in this form factor. There is no tablet that compares. It goes through games like butter. And iOS maybe a little old in some ways, but it is effective. That's all your gonna get from the iPad effectiveness. Great product .. Worth every penny.

I love this Ipad I instantly saw the screen display as a huge improvement over over models, The battery life is excellent over 10 hours is great. Extremely fast internet browsing, (Compared to Windows 7). The camera is amazing, great video recording as well as the front facing camera, great for vlogs, and such. Recommend for everyone

i'm a life-long PC user who is pretty late to the whole iPad phenomenon, but i needed to get one earlier than originally planned. now that i've used it, i'm wondering why it took me so dang long to convert. i'm not an expert user yet, but it took no time at all to get up to speed on it. getting connected to Wi-Fi networks, email accounts, the iCloud, and selected apps has been MUCH easier and more intuitive than i expected. the one downer about my purchase was that my first iPad crashed on me after barely 5 days...a gray film would swipe across the screen, then it would reboot, and it kept doing this for over an hour. I. WAS. TICKED. but the protection plan allowed me to get a new one at no extra cost. so i'd give the unit 4 stars (would have been 5, had it not crashed), and the Geek Squad/protection plan 5 stars (very friendly, thorough, and pain-free service).

In my opinion the best tablet on the market. I love all apple product and would recommend this to anyone.

Expensive tablet but still love the usability it has. The retina display is amazing. The ability to connect to internet through both wi-fi and cellular is just so useful. 16GB of memory is good enough for an ipad generally meant for entertainment and basic internet uses.I love the itune store and the apps available to be downloaded. Overall a great product for people of all ages. My 3 year old son to my 62 year old Mom, every one is able to use it with ease and comfort.

I wish I has purchased an iPad a long time ago! I converted from Droid/Windows to Apple. This is second my Apple product and I am so pleased with the performance of this unit, it's fast, east to use and very portable. I like how I can sync between my iPhone and iPad, awesome! highly recommend!

I was debating if it was worth the extra couple hundred dollars for the iPad vs Android tablets that are half the price. I decided to take the dive and buy the iPad. Definitely worth it. Fast, responsive, great battery life and best App Library. Couple months using, I know I made the right decision.

I have had my iPad for almost six months now and I have to say that I do not have any complaints when it comes to the performance i just wish things where a little cheaper. Since I have never had or played with an iPad it took me a while to figure out how to use it and find all the apps that I needed for getting the most out of it. One feature that not many people know is how to show all your open apps by double tapping the close button this is helpful for going from app to app and closing all apps that you are not using which saves your battery. Overall I would definitely buy again and I also recommend getting at least the 64 GB model.

The 4th generation ipad is the fastest device I have ever used. I also own the iphone 5 and an older macbook pro - the 3 together are unstoppable. If you already have an ipad 2 but thought about getting the 3rd generation, the improvements on the 4th generation should be enough for you to pull the trigger. The new processor is more of an improvement than what I've seen people say in other reviews - again, the fastest device I've ever used for everyday use. The battery life is also unreal - I've had the 4th gen for over a week, used it heavily on a daily basis, I still haven't charged it, and stil have 20% battery life - that should last me another 2 days before I change it for the first time.
