    Another Great iPhone

Another great iPhone but with a slightly larger screen. The phone is quick and responsive with great picture quality. The fingerprint ID is an awesome feature, but sometimes you have to be exact when using it. I did notice that the phone seems to get warmer than normal after continuous use. I know all phones get warm from use but this seemed to get warmer then what my experience has been with previous phone models. Much more user friendly than Droid. I love the iPhone.

The iPhone 5S is a phone that takes everything Apple has learned in this space over the last six and a half years and put it together in an incredibly cohesive manner. If you want to match it spec for spec with other smartphones, then it's a difficult task - but it misses the point of Apple's new device. Below the surface Apple has put together one of the most cutting-edge smartphones around, imbued with a top-end camera and a really innovative feature with Touch ID. There's only so much that smartphone manufacturers can do to differentiate these days, and while Apple can't expect consumers to be wowed by the same shell, it can expect to get some interest in the sharp camera and gives a sense of relief with the new A7 chip. We're also really intrigued to see what the M7 chip alongside will do - Apple is giving developers a really cool tool to play with, and it looks like it won't be too long before we see the fruits of that. Yes, the A7 chip doesn't have a huge role to play now, but it does make things like camera use so much faster, and facilitates the increased security in Touch ID. We'll start with a different refrain: the screen technology on offer here is what upsets us most. There will be a lot of upgraders from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5S, and many of them will be disappointed to see that two years later they're still looking at the same resolution, albeit a bit stretched out. The only reason they'll be a little sad is that the Full HD screens of the rivals are so much more impressive - in its own iPhone 5S world, the screen is just fine and looks great and clear - but woe betide anyone that sees one of the larger devices out there. We do want to applaud Apple for sticking to its guns and offering up a decent choice for those that like a smaller display, but this is already too big for one hand, so a little more real estate wouldn't go amiss. And then there's the price. Some reviewers don't seem to think this should be taken into account, that the mere fact Apple can command such a high cost for its phones, both on contract and SIM free, and still sell millions shows this is a moot point. Perhaps it was less of an issue when Apple was such a market leader, but now there are at least three worthy competitors out there, and they all cost significantly less. We can't see what lives in the iPhone 5S to justify being the most expensive phone on the market, although we do recognise the effort that's gone into the premium design and spec list for the 5S. Battery life is also a little suspect for our liking, and we're already considering buying a second charger to carry around. Verdict The iPhone 5S is, predictably, the best iPhone ever from Apple - but what's intriguing is just how much we enjoyed using this evolutionary device. There's always an apathy with any kind of 'S' device from Apple, as it's historically just the same thing made a little bit better. It's true the advances on the iPhone 5S are few, but the ones that are there are very impressive indeed. 64 bit apps, while consumers are paying to not have access yet, are coming to really turbocharge the experience, and the A7 processor is clearly capable of some very heavy lifting. The camera is improved impressively, taking some excellent shots with minimal backlift needed from the user, and the Touch ID sensor is the first real step into biometrics on a smartphone, and one that Apple has succeeded in implementing. So to say this is the best iPhone yet is relatively pointless, as of course it was going to be. But the combination of iOS 7 to freshen things up with a powerful core and great camera mean that this phone should be considered on its own considerable merits, and while the high price will continue to put many off, anyone already wedded to the iPhone bandwagon, or even if they're just on the fence, will find a lot of joy in a phone that's a lot more than an iterative update.

We (my wife and I) to this phone after giving the samsung galaxy note 3 a try for the 13 day buyers remorse period they give you. Before the switch to the note 3, we had the iPhone 4S. We were drawn to the note by the huge awesome screen and it was awesome! Then all the iphone things began to be absent and we missed iphone. I missed having a great camera on my phone. I feel like the 5s camera works for me and takes good pics. The note didn't. The iphone is very pocketable. It fits in overloaded coat pockets, jean pockets, hoody pockets, etc. it even fits in my truck's cup holders. That's nice. Then the usability is great. You don't have to figure things out. They just work, and that's nice. This phone looks good, it's not so loud and "look at me," it works well as a phone, the screen looks good and it feels good. I feel like we made a good decision.

This phone was such a breath of fresh air after upgrading from my old iPhone 4. I had that phone for 3 years and only upgraded because my home button wasn't working. I never thought I needed anything other than that phone, until I bought this phone. Speed of the processing is amazing, picture quality from the camera is better than some point and shoot cameras I've owned, and it all come in a thinner, lighter package than my old phone. Battery life has been exceptional as well. I don't send 1,000 texts a day, but I use my phone moderately, and a full charge last 2.5-3 days. Wouldn't have purchased anything else.

I love my new iphone! It looks great and is a definite upgrade from the 4th generation model I have. I love the talk to text function and the user friendly apps. I also like the size, it is not so big that it cannot fit in my pocket like some of the other smartphones out there. It fits my needs perfectly.

I love my new phone!! I wish I wouldn't have waited. I should have bought one the moment they came out. Super user friendly. I'm still discovering things I can do with this phone. I was worried it might be too big for me, but I absolutely love it. Way easier to surf online, read email, etc.

This is my second iPhone. I had my iPhone 4 for three years. I traded it in and that covered more than half the cost of the 5s. I'm extremely happy with this phone, it runs the new iOS without getting bogged down, Siri is incredibly accurate and able to understand fairly complex directions once you get a hang for the correct syntax, the fingerprint sensor works almost every time (unless my finger is damp, greasy or at an odd angle, and the call and sound quality are clearly superior to the 4. The battery life could be better, I can't use any of my old and expensive charging cables but I do like the new lightning connector quite a bit so it's worth the pain, to me at least, of buying new cables. The picture quality is also vastly improved, especially when taking flash pictures of very dark subjects. The 4 would basically fall apart in that situation but the 5s works like a charm. Best iPhone yet.

I had an iPhone 4s and loved it. This phone is light years better. It's lighter and thinner with a bigger screen. It's super fast. The camera is great. It's a big improvement over the good camera on the 4s. Movies are a lot better. The slow motion video is extremely high quality. We mostly use it to video record our kids doing something silly and play it back for laughs. It's great for laughs and can also have more practical uses. I really like the fingerprint ID functionality. Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to try multiple times or enter my passcode, but it usually works and I think it will get better with practice. If you want/need a new phone, just buy one of these. It easily does everything quickly.

We purchased this for our kids after Thanksgiving for $50 (under contract). Great deal for this phone. Everything is what you would expect for a newer iPhone. Always wish for more storage and battery, but a great value nonetheless.

I don't like to like what everyone else likes. I previously had an iPhone (4s) then made the switch to Galaxy S2 Skyrocket because it had 4G and the iPhone at the time didn't. I liked the S2 except it didn't seem to be as refined as the iPhone, and turning on GPS on it SUCKED the battery life out of it SUPER quick. Never had that problem with the iPhone, so I switched back. One thing I LOVE on the 5S is the fingerprint sensor to open the phone. It makes it SOO much easier, rather than having to click the button on the top and then swiping. I hope they never get rid of that feature. The notifications on the 5S is also MUCH better than I had on my previous iPhones, and one of the things I hated about them. I traded in the S2 and got $50 back, so I paid $149. The price has since gone down. I didn't want to love the iPhone, but I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to Samsung. Hated having to replace their charging cords every 2 months, which is another reason I went back to Apple. Never had a problem with their cords before.

Upgraded my iPhone4S to the 5S through Best Buy, the rebates BB gave me actually got me the upgrade for free. The new 5S is a very nice phone, easy to use, camera is amazing, etc, etc... It's your standard iPhone upgrade, faster processer, better camera, screen resolution is improved... but the 'free' upgrade was the main reason I rated this so high. If you're due for an upgrade, I would definitely check BB out, being able to upgrade for free is very nice:) If you're already an iPhone5 user, and are not eligible for an out-of-contract upgrade, I wouldn't spend the $700 on the phone, there's nothing new that is worth that price tag.

I have been an iPhone user from the original ver. Apple has progressively improved their newer phones every release and this one is a beauty. The Gold color is even awesome. It's much faster than the earlier version, can quickly switch between photo and video mode, has the panoramic pic mode, finger print is amazing for one touch login access, very useful for buying new apps too.. I like phones that can fit in your palm and not the ones that are too big to handle with one hand, iphone is perfect size to even text with one hand if needed. The only issue I have is Siri understanding what we have to say even when we speak in clear English.. it's dangerous especially when you text using Siri as it can type in some "really nasty" words when you actually meant something.. it was embarrassing once when I sent something very simple to a friend of mine but it typed in a real bad thing.. lucky she knew I had just bought the Iphone 5S and was using Siri. :) apparently she had it too so it didn't blow up :).. Other than that it is a perfect phone.

I love the size. I did not want to wait for the iphone 6, as due to the trend, i'm afraid it's going to be larger. I keep my phone in my pocket so anything larger will be uncomfortable. The camera is greatly improved from the 5...love the burst mode. Battery life could be longer. I get a full day out of it. However, if I forget to charge it at night I'm in trouble the next day if I can't get a charge. Shape is very uncomfortable to hold without a case...God forbid you drop it...New glass is Expensive!!! Still getting used to iOs7.

This is my second iPhone, upgraded from a 4 that I had (and worked perfectly) for two and a half years. I knew what to expect with this, the only thing that surprised me was the short battery life right from the start. My phone will last less than a day if I use it a lot, about a day and a half if I barely use it.. compared to about two days on my old iPhone that was 2+ years old. I have everything running the same so I'm not sure what's causing that. It's not a huge problem now, but if it gets worse (and I hope to have this phone for 2+ years as well) I don't think I'll be too happy. Other than that, picture is great, phone itself weighs less than previous models, and is simple to use. Camera seems to be slightly improved than 4 and 4s too, which was important to me.
