My daughter bought this for college this fall. She wanted something portable to use for writing papers, watching movies, etc. This computer really fits the bill! The screen is gorgeous and this should be called the Air mini. The 2 big downsides are the small hard drive and single USB C connection. We're definately getting a 1 TB external hard drive and a powered USB C adapter for the dorm room.

I purchased this item for my daughter, who will be attending grad school next fall. She loves the way it fits into her backpack making it easier as she walks to and from class. She's very happy with her new computer.

I have always loved Apple products. but this one is my favorite. It's lightweight enough that I can carry it wherever I need to go. The only negative thing I can say is that the keyboard takes some time to get used to.

Sure, not the most powerful, but for most people's needs, it suffices. I love how its only 2 pounds and I can whip it around my bed with a couple fingers. Gotta love the retina screen and the small bezels. Love that Apple went with black bezels instead of the usual body colored ones. Less distracting when watching videos. 256Gigs storage is more than enough for me and 8 gigs of ram is enough for me to multi-task with the quickness. Love having Spotify fired up while I'm catching up on my emails! Only hitch so far is that it keeps disconnecting from the wifi after awakening up from sleep.

Great purchase. Purchased for my daughter and she loves it. Perfect size to transport and store, with consistent Mac quality.

this new design was a great idea for those who like to pack light. Having no USB ports is a little difficult to get use to.

The machine is great and well made. It is tough to use as a work machine with only one port. Had to purchase two adapters to be able to use my monitor, ethernet and USB devices.

This is by far the lightest laptop you'll ever own with a 10hr battery life

Purchased this model for $999 ($300 off the regular price). Unless you need serious computing power for things like photo/video editing or games (though it can run many games far better than expected) this is a perfect computer. Crazy small and light, 8GB RAM standard, fabulous screen, and (at least for me) the ideal keyboard. I don't find the single USB-C port to be much of a problem, though you will eventually need one of the adapters (which are overpriced, unfortunately).

Would rate it 4.5. Very light. Good battery life. Solid build. Excellent retina display. Fast enough for my purposes. Good touchpad. Keyboard takes a little getting used to. Only drawback - single USB-C port.

I own everything Mac, from ipads to desktops over to phones. But this computer is light weight and packs a punch. I use it for watching movies and travel. The only thing is you need to buy a USB adapter cause there are no ports. It costed like 30 bucks. At first I thought it would be annoying but it wasn't at all. I keep it in my laptop case if I ever need it. Great computer.

I bought this Macbook to take with me when I travel and so far it has done exactly what I needed it to and beyond. Wonderful size and weight and the screen resolution is amazing. I love this Macbook!

This is a fabulous laptop Make sure you buy the multi adapter though, it only has a power input and headphone output.

Great machine with a beautiful retina display, better specs than an equivalent Macbook Air, and super portability.

Product is good, but can't think of a reason why not to buy a 13" retina Macbook pro. It would be sure good for people who travel a lot. Apple should think about providing the additional adapter with this mac where they charge $80 for no reason.
