We had "stalked" our next computer thoroughly. First by looking at customer reviews and second by comparing prices. We had finally decided to take the plunge and buy an Apple for our second computer. It needed to be lightweight, powerful, and functional. It would travel with us on vacations and would be a primary computer for note taking in college courses. We arrived at the Apple for a variety of reasons, and the MacBook has not disappointed. We did not need to go with the "Air" model because it was far too light, almost to the point of seeming fragile. We did not need the "Pro" model as the new MacBook came out with as much processing power as the Pro models, but in a more compact and visually appealing form. Finally, Best Buy had the same prices as everywhere else, but the the rewards program is something that we could not get through Apple. Besides this, we were able to bring the computer home and set it up the same day, something that is not possible at Apple Stores or online. All in all, the customer service experience at our local Best Buy store was great and we got precisely what we wanted.

I really love this laptop, I have had it for a little over a month and it is exactly what I wanted. Being in college and having to carry around books I wanted something powerful with everything I need but at the same time something that wouldn't add a lot of weight to my bag and this is definitely it. Not to mention it is an absolutely beautiful laptop. The only downside I would have to say is the lack of usb ports and all that good stuff. Apple does sell all of that as add ons.

This laptop is perfect for me because it's not too big and it is lightweight. I really love the keyboard because there's no weird empty space above the left and right arrow keys. I am so weird, but that's why I've never had a Mac before.

This laptop is probably the best mini-laptop you can buy. It has great speakers, it's really fast, and ideal for people who are on the go. It is super light weight and very portable. Not to mention the sleek and modern look of Apple.

I've had the 15" pro now for several weeks. Every time I turn it on that screen amazes me. It is absolutely gorgeous! Very easy laptop to work with.....take it to work. Really the 15" is not that heavy. Computer is fast, screen brilliant, programs excellent. Glad this laptop has joined my Apple family.

My first Apple laptop and I absolutely love it. It does everything I need to it to do and does it quickly and easily. It's lightweight, extremely portable, the keyboard is very comfortable, and I use it everyday. I have used it for many purposes including, watching videos, surfing the internet, social networking, writing papers, research, reviewing photos, creating spreadsheets, etc. The only thing I would change if I could would be I'd add a USB portal so I didn't have to use the charger portal with an adapter to attach things such as a DVD drive or thumb drive.

Very light and thin, but still very fast and with plenty of storage. Unless you work with very heavy software, this laptop will be perfect for you. An extra USB-C port would be ideal, but after market adapters work great too.

I cannot begin to describe my happiness with this laptop. I purchased the 12 inch / 8 GB MabBook in Gold. The retina display is better than my 65" LED Sony flatscreen. Beyond clear, incredibly lightweight, compact and so easy to use. I would never buy a computer or laptop that wasn't made by Apple. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. My previous 13 inch MacBook Pro, (which I'd owned since early 2009) is still in perfectly working condition after years of being walked on, thrown, dropped, etc. but still thought I needed an upgrade. I am beyond pleased with my laptop. Love the color and all the new updates Apple has added this year.

I got this MacBook to replace my MacBook Air that was around 4 years old and this one is just great. It's so fast and light and the perfect size for a college student. I love it.

The retinal display is great like the light weight and small size. one downside for some users my be lack of usb port unless you get the USB-C to USB adaptor. a great laptop for traveling 8 to 9 hours of battery life my be on the short side but given the size of the laptop seems good

I always try to find a MacBook which can combine retina screen and the lightest weight. Thank you Apple you finally released this product! A small inconvenient one is it only has one USB-C port, otherwise all set~

Light and small laptop that's perfect for traveling, but slightly odd keyboard that takes some getting used to. Surprisingly fast and responsive despite its slow processor. Lack of standard USB ports means you'll need to buy special USB-C adapters to plug anything into it.

I am in love with this laptop. If you are a student and are looking for a compact, lightweight, sturdy, fast, easy to use, hassle free laptop, this is the laptop you have been looking for!!! I owned an Air before this MacBook, I loved the air however, it seemed to have a few issues. I decided to purchase another Mac and shoot for a different design. I came across the MacBook by the recommendation of the Best Buy manager Shane B. and I am so happy he introduced this wonderful laptop to me!!!!! Thank you Shane!!!! It has been the best laptop I have ever owned this far and it definitely gets the job done!

This thing is so light and portable, but as countless others have pointed out, it has only one port that's shared for both power and accessories. Two would make a lot more sense. Keyboard is just OK in my book due to the limited range of motion. Display is great. Despite its diminutive scale, it's very readable and usable. And now my 13" MacBook Pro feels giant! None of these things are a surprise. It's a little, portable MacBook with a couple mostly minor compromises. I wish battery life was a bit better, but it's adequate. My buying experience buying an Open Box unit, though, was abysmal. The unit was fine, but there was a great deal of confusion about the unit when I arrived to pick it up. It took me at least an hour of waiting at the Service Desk to actually have it in hand to purchase.

I switched to my new space gray Macbook from a Macbook Pro after using a friend's macbook and realizing how much I appreciated it's lighter weight, smaller size, portability, and keyboard. I don't know what it is, but the keyboard on the macbook feels so much better than the macbook pro. While the macbook may not have the power of a macbook pro, I'm in law school and it fits all my needs as a student - large legal docs, multiple browser tabs open at a time as I try to google my way through school, spotify/itunes, etc. Also didn't hurt that I got it on sale for $300 off thanks to Best Buy.

Before I say anything about the product, I just want to point out that I'm an Apple fanboy, I own one of the latest gen apple products from every product line (iPhone 6 Plus, 2015 MacBook Pro 13, iPad Air 2, Apple TV, Apple Watch Sport 42mm) and I bought this laptop to replace and later sell my 2015 MacBook Pro. I was completely aware of everything with the laptop except how tremendously underpowered the GPU was, yes I do understand that the CPU is limited as well, but things loading a bit slower than my pro wasn't what destroyed my experience, and I previously used and still own a MacBook Pro 2010 that actually scored lower than the new 2015 MacBook in terms of processing power, but even the 256mb of graphics memory crushed the 2015 MacBooks 1.5GB in real world usage and benchmarks. There is a crazy lag across the entire operating system at the default scaling settings which in my personal opinion is so unbelievably awful that the price tag of this failure of a 1st gen product would have to be $600 to justify my purchase due to it being more laggy and incapable compared to my iPad Air 2 which is actually more portable (you can walk around with it in the house or in public literally everywhere while watching content) If I tried to stream anything more than a 1080P YouTube video (higher resolution or two videos at a time) it would LAG USING SAFARI! Just take a moment to imagine how hard it lags using a third party browser like chrome with A SINGLE 720P VIDEO! I honestly felt like the visual lag this machine has is comparable to an iPhone 4 running iOS 7, and it's a major disappointment because I had no complaints with ANYTHING else about the Machhine and loved every thing about it compared to my MacBook Pro, but this laptop is unusable at this price range, I could buy a lightly used pre owned recent MacBook Air and a brand new iPad Air 2 for the same price and have a much more capable and less laggy setup. If you are thinking about this laptop please reconsider, an iPad Air 2 with a keyboard case has better graphical performance, better battery life, more functionality, better portability and literally costs LESS THAN HALF the price of the 2015 MacBook. Bring a pair of earbuds to the store with you and let the salesperson know that your like to spend at least one hour intensively evaluating the performance of the machine before you invest $1,300 into it. I apologize for returning such an expensive laptop but the performance was just totally unacceptable.

As a longtime Apple fan, I specifically resisted this Macbook with the thought that it would be too underpowered and overly priced. Through unrelated circumstances, I found myself owning one and wow - this is one of my all time favorite MacBooks and even Apple products. I've gone through virtually all models of the MacBook Air and even had the PowerBook 12" when it was available. This Macbook is the modern version of the PowerBook 12" (the moguls laptop as I think it was called then) and it is totally amazing. Keep in mind it's capabilities from a usability standpoint - it isn't a photo editing powerhouse - what it is is an eminently capable incredibly light, easy to use Macbook.

This note book is light weight with 8 G's of RAM. I like the new keyboard and functions very well. This very portable with a great Retina screen. This computer will work well in my application.

I like the retina screen and the new keyboard. This new MACBook does not heat up and comes equipped with 8g of RAM. This notebook is ideal for traveling. I highly recommend this notebook.
