With just $200 lower than Macbook Pro, I actually recommend the latter one. Almost everything better except slight more weight.

Worked fine until one day after the return date when vertical lines appeared on the right side of the screen (no trauma occurred to the laptop to cause this). Because it was one day after the return deadline, I could not get a a replacement laptop from Best Buy but had to send it to Apple for repairs. Very unhappy with the product but more so that I could not return for a new one but have to have it repaired. Will not buy a MacBook through Best Buy again. Will buy directly from Apple.

A little difficult to navigate must use Geek Squad for assistance. As usual Apple has changed plugs need adapter forHDMI.

The MacBook Air in Gold is stunning and exudes a premium feel. At just under 3 pounds, it's incredibly portable and easy to carry, making it ideal for students or professionals on the go. The 13.3" Retina display offers vibrant colors and sharp text, perfect for browsing, streaming, or working on documents.

Gosh the computer is a dream, the only downfall is the camera quality. It’s soooo digitized and ugly.

No charging cord or directions were included in the “open box”
I bought an Apple laptop and when I got at home, there was nothing in the box except for the laptop! No charging cord, no instruction manual, nothing!
Then I tried for hours to get through to any human being associated with Best Buy! It was impossible! Worst experience purchasing… Ever!

So I purchased this computer from my local Best Buy with my new BB Credit Card, but for some reason I never received any points on my Best Buy Rewards account. I'm a little annoyed to be honest. The computer is great, though I hate that it doesn't save any of my documents to the computer itself, but to the cloud. There's something about that makes me uneasy.

Please note,,,,This is a review of Best Buy Geek Squad services...not of the Apple MacBook Air
I purchased the MacBook on Friday morning at 11a.m. and was told the data transfer from my old laptop would be completed later that day. On Fri. evening I was told the computer would be ready by Sat. When I called to check on how the work was progressing I was told they had 24-48 hours and it would be ready on Sun. or Mon. and that I would receive a call when it was ready. I called late Sun. and learned that the laptop was ready for pick-up. The representative who helped me...Dave...was very apologetic and could offer no explanation for the delay. Apparently work is not done as it comes in, but in any order the Geek Squad decides. Although I received a text when my laptop was checked in the status never changed....so I had no way of knowing it they had started the work. I found the whole process very frustrating.
I have only had the MacBook for a few hours, but so far I am pleased with it.

But I am already in love! Full disclosure- I have never had a Mac before or ever even used one for longer than 5 minutes playing around in stores, and up until I bought an iPhone a year ago out of *sheer* curiosity I was a diehard PC/Android fangirl. Hated Apple even, made fun of users and thought they were just status chasers with more money than sense who only buy iDevices because they can't figure out how to use 'real' tech. I am now eating a LOT of crow because I was dead wrong.
I could not be happier with how effortless and enjoyable it is to use. I went with the Air over the Pro cause frankly it's plenty for my needs. I don't game, I don't do graphic design or music/video editing, and everything I care about is in the cloud already so the 8/128 option was more than sufficient. My desktop died a couple months ago and I've been limping along using my work computer for personal use, but I wanted something that was fully mine(IE not accessible by the bosses or hobbled by a bloated corporate OS image) mostly just for internet, reading, writing, and media. I wanted good build quality, good screen, good security, good battery, portability, and support. And it may seem silly but I wanted it to be pretty too and the rose gold is a work of art. I'm big on aesthetics, and other options for laptops are mostly limited to boring black or grey with low-res screens unless I wanted to drop well over a grand on a Yoga. It's superficial but it's one of those nice little quality-of-life things that you really appreciate once you have it.
Another reason I went for a Mac was security. The increasing amount of stories coming out nowadays about some new backdoor found in Windows, malware on the Play store, data collections, corporate spying, etc, are seriously troubling. How many security breaches has Apple had? They won't even unlock devices for the FBI.
I'm still adjusting to how everything works, but it's all very intuitive and easy to figure out. I was using it out of the box within minutes. I was a little worried about the keyboard at first but it's very easy to type on and the backlight is a lovely touch. The giant trackpad + gestures negate the need for a mouse. The entire thing is so thin & light that I can see myself just tossing it in my purse and going. And oh mylanta how I LOVE touch ID. I'm lazy and being able to log into stuff with a single touch is a gift. I love how everything syncs up- my music, podcasts, pics, and data are right there no matter which device I pick up. I love how I'm not having to constantly chase down errors too. I'm an IT professional and I troubleshoot temperamental servers all day long, I don't have the energy to do it at home too.
Is it pricy? Of course it is. But you're getting what you pay for and this is the only laptop that meets both my needs AND my wants. For something I'll be using daily for at least a few years, I think it's worth it.
