Great for Kids School From Home

Got this to support kids online school from home. Very pleased with it for our needs. Runs all of the kids school apps plus class Zoom calls as expected. During research was concerned about potential fan noise and over heating. No issues what so ever. We are not running extreme data crunching process. I would say we are running average school apps, Zoom calls, email, internet and photo editing and could not be happier.

Battery life sucks

Battery life was poor. Then one day it just died and it's only been used minimally. It was going to cost $700 to fix. Very disappointed.

Disappointed

2 stars for being sleek, pretty, and organized.
However, for such a hefty price it should definitely come with an updated headphone jack (I mean...seriously apple?), and definitely more than just two c-usb ports. I mean come on! I spend $1200 on a laptop only to find out none of my UNIVERSAL laptop accessories will work with it because apple is literally the dumbest corporation that’s ever existed. The mouse pad isn’t sensitive enough and is really tricky to get the hang of. I’ve had mine for barely a month and for whatever unknown reason it won’t charge. I am returning this tomorrow and will be going with an ASUS. I would give this laptop 2/10 stars, & the points are purely for the fact that it looks nice. Performance wise, this is honestly the worst laptop I have ever owned.

Didn't last long

I purchased my MacBook Air about a year an a half ago. For a first time Apple user, it overall seemed to be a good investment. The lack of USB ports was annoying and I had to purchase additional accessories in order to do what I needed.
The biggest issue happened about a month ago. I went to turn on my laptop and it wouldn't power up. I tried charging it, all the reboot recommended by Apple, new charger, etc. Nothing worked. Never dropped it, no water damage, used rarely for general email, internet research. I took it in for diagnostics and apparently the logic board failed. The repairs would be at least $600 (possibly more once they opened it up). I had AppleCare for 1 year because I figured this would last me a while, but of course it crashed after the warranty expired. The techs said this type of this "just happens" and could not guarantee that the repairs would fix the issue.
I decided not to pay for the repair because I had already spent over $1000 for this laptop in the first place, not to mention accessories. This was a complete waste of money and I will never purchase another Apple laptop in the future. If you don't mind potentially throwing away over a grand, then this may be for you.

Open box + Geek Squad certified = trash
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I bought this Mac as an open box but it was also geek squad certified, so you assume everything is in tip top shape. Well the geniuses at geek squad sent me a LOCKED MacBook. On the phone with them for several hours they say I need to take my receipt to an apple store. I then called Apple and apple said I should return it to Best Buy. Apple stores are closed and they are far for me and its not my responsibility to take it in. I took it to a Best Buy with a geek squad and they said there is nothing they can do. So I gave up and just returned it. Moral is "geek Squad certified" means nothing. I bet they never even opened the Mac because its the first screen that appears. Unfortunately I have to give it a poor review based upon my experience with Best Buy and geek squad and not the device its self. I will not buy my next Mac from Best Buy.

Horrible product and horrible service.

I bought this laptop from best buy for my sister in India. After a year the battery died. I had only crossed the warranty date by 16 days and they refused to fix the laptop. I had to pay 15000 rupees. Which is a huge sum in India. After fixing it, in six months the laptop now won't boot. In India, the Apple authorized service center will charge you 3000 rupees to just even investigate the problem. This is such a sham. I now hate all their product and have decided not to put my money on their overpriced trashy products. I have used a lot of apple products, not anymore.

Battery dies fast, it lags too much & is slow. Keeps freezing & one charging port already doesn’t work!
