Upgraded from a base 2017 MacBook Pro. I am surprised by how much I like the Touch Bar. I use the Touch Bar way more then I ever use the Fn keys. Use cases vary so can't say either way whether 16 GB of RAM is for everyone or they should stick to the 8 GB, I run the jhipster RDA and Swift IDE on this machine and it's never gasping for breath. Which was an issue for my old MacBook.

First time using Mac coming from Windows. Took me a while to finger things out. Kind of like driving on the right hand side in the UK LOL the configuration I got which was 16gb was worth it because you get the 10th generation Intel and more processing power. Skip the airmac and get the Pro! Spend a little more but you get something that will be more useful and last longer than the 8th generation chip of the cheaper laptop.

The laptop is great! For starters it is really thin and portable which is something great especially if you travel a lot. The build quality is pretty great with its all aluminum classy which gives it a great look and feel. This laptop is powerful enough to do some video editing and multitasking but if you plan to play games this isn’t what you’re looking for. Overall this is a great laptop for professionals or students.

The associate who helped was very knowledgable in tech and was able to give me great insight on which MacBook to choose. Its fast working and does everything I need it too. It stays cool for the most part and does get slightly warm when streaming a movie and its almost towards the end of the movie. The battery life is great as well I have only needed to charge it a few times since owning it a month ago.

Replaced a pc. It took a little while to get used too. I do enjoy the connectivity between phone, watch and airpods -that was the main reason for purchasing -along with apple customer service. Love the touch control on this computer and the display. The cons -no usb ports- its all new -need adapters for older apple wires. No usb, hdmi ect without adapter. (Apple is trying to move away from usb-annoying) Also battery life is OK - not the best-I mainly have it plugged in most of the time because it only lasts a few hours of high usage - not ideal.

I love the Retina screen, the touchbar, and the easy migration from my much older MacBook Pro laptop. I’m loving the easier-to-use keyboard although it requires learning I don’t have to press as hard on keys as I’m used to doing. I especially love signing in to my laptop by simply using my fingerprint. I have more RAM memory and SSD storage, which of course makes all tasks faster than my older model.

Apple consistently delivers quality products at a good price. This is going off to college with my son for the next 4 years. Ease of use, powerful processor and the warranty makes it worth the price. My daughter has had one of these for 3 years of college and it hasn't shown a sign of slowing down. I expect this MacBook to do the same.

Great laptop for everyday use and has great battery life

I upgraded to this laptop because my Macbook Pro from 2017 (base model) was struggling with my photo-editing tasks. This doesn't have any issues with the same work load with many other apps running in the background. I love the new magic keyboard (feels like the old keyboards) and the touch bar is quite nice too and can be useful. Having 4 lightning bolt ports is also very convenient.
