Good machine, not the best shopping experience.

Bought the fastest, most capable machine I could... but the Best Buy website and app didn’t make it easy. I had to know exactly what specifications I wanted and filter results according to those specs. Even then I had to go to the Apple website and find the price of the machine I wanted to make sure I was getting the right thing.
On top of all that, I never got tracking info for it, so I was lucky to be home when the laptop-sized box showed up at my home.
Usually Best Buy is great, but this experience shook my confidence.

Love it. Blisteringly fast. If you love Apple, this thing works great as a laptop. I have it setup with 2 monitors, and use it in a dock on my desktop, then take it with me when working remotely. I have now replaced my desktop. Best decision concerning office efficiency I've probably ever made. So awesome.

I have been a Mac user for over 15 years, had the top notch machine of the season upgraded every 3 years as a work tool for video and content editing. The new MacBook Pro 16 with 64gb ram was supposed to be the pinnacle of technology. Instead it’s a very disappointing laptop with mildly enhanced performance.
First and foremost, if you plan on running it with a dual monitor Setup prepare to cough up another $199-$299 for a docking station or a thunderbolt splitter.
The device restarts when it goes to sleep, some issue with peripherals but your work must be all backed up before you leave it or you might lose some of the backup as it restarts. Seems like they didn’t get the entire thunderbolt architecture thing yet so the system fails. Mine restarts every day or two for no appear to reason.
Performance wise: 8 use the same websites for the past few months for work, 3 chrome windows, about 8tabs total. On my old MacBook Pro those sites + video editing + some tools open equaled 13gb out of my 16gb ram. At one point while running 3 chrome windows and about 8 tabs total the machine had 45gb used! These are the same sites I use daily! This is ridicules expensive for nothing stable or remotely impressive.
Wait for version 2 or stay away!
