easy install for adapting thunderbolt technology

Bought these and later purchased longer cables so thunderbolt connectors could replace the old cables and their associated connectors for cleaner installation.

Had tried a DVI to display port cable from Amazon and it wouldn't work with a Macbook Air and a Dell monitor. This adapter with DVI-DVI cable did the trick. As stated in subject, it's a bit pricy for what it is but I guess that's Apple of you...

Why are these so expensive

I had a dvi to hdmi cable so it got the job done. No audio on the DVI output of course but you can still route that with analogue cord. They seem pricey but build build quality is good.
