This product is expensive (apple, obviously) for what it does which is a basic link to your computer. It works, so that's good, but ya know, WHY?

Its great when you need it but these are finicky and how often is one really going to use this anymore? Too much $$$.

Good product but belkien makes a dual dvi with Mini DisplayPort that's is same price

I had not issues with them until after a few months the wire inside it popped out.

For whatever reason, I couldn't get this to work with a Lenovo monitor. Had no problem hooking the same monitor up via the VGA adapter. Perhaps a driver issue. Returned it for the VGA adapter.

Wrong adapter and when I returned it Apple now doesn’t make the appropriate connector for dual screens!

i purchused this adaper about two weeks ago, and i have to say after i figured out how to make it work it works GREAT. Works as advertised. but i still say it should come with the macbook pros. And instructions would be nice. BUT if you are using this to attached a macbook pro to anouther display MAKE SURE macbook pro is plugged in! and wake up macbook by pressing keys on an external keyboard or mouse AND then set how you want to use it because it automatically makes a new screen, if u want you want to use it while your macbook is closed you have to click MIRRORED SCREENS.

First step as always... DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I own a brand new 27" iMac desktop that replaced an 8 year old Dell Desktop with Dell flat panel monitor. The Dell monitor still works fine, so I thought I would run dual screens. The Dell monitor is VGA and S-Video capable through VGA and DVI outputs on the monitor. However according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface there exist at least five types of DVI. The differences are subtle for each type. This is combined with Apple moving to the proprietary "Mini Display Port" from the old "Mini DVI" port for external output in its laptops and desktops recently. Sadly when Apple markets these adapters they don't specify on the packaging whether its DVI-D dual or single link, DVI-I dual or single link, or DVI-A. You need to study the product pictures on Apple's website before you buy the one you need. My 17" flat panel Dell monitor had a DVI-D single link connection and the reviewed product is compatible with both DVI-D single and dual link connections but NOT DVI-I single or dual or DVI-A. Armed with this information I checked bestbuy.com to verify which location near me had this part in stock, and I was rewarded after purchase with a no hassle dual screen setup. The sales associate knew what I was talking about too which I personally found comforting and impressive. Check to see: 1. Does your Apple device have Mini DVI or a Mini Display Port port 2. Does the device you wish to connect have DVI-I single link, DVI-I dual link, DVI-D single link, DVI-D double link, or DVI-A. 3. Search "DVI Connector Types" at wikipedia to be sure which one you have. Cross-reference this with the pictures of the various Apple adapters sold online. THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH DVI-D SINGLE LINK AND DVI-D DUAL LINK (unless you provide yet another adapter) Hope this helps! Thank you Best Buy.

I was given a beautiful older model Apple Monitor M9177LL/A, and was hoping that I'd be able to connect it to my MacBook Air (Late 2014) (compatibility wise). This small connection did it perfectly! Very happy!

This does the trick, and does exactly what it promises. It's extremely easy to use, too. Works as soon as it snaps into the mini displayport port.

Does exactly what it's intended to do. My MacBook looks great hooked up to my monitor with this cable.

I use this to have my apple Cinema Display as a second monitor for my iMac. Works great.

I originally bought the HDMI adapter but the quality was so poor that I ended up returning it for this adapter which provided much better quality.

I bought this connector to connect my Macbook to a non apple display and it works great!

This works fine the cord could be a little longer but so far I have had no issues with it.

I tend to only get official Apple products for my MacBook Pro because I believe that's what Apple wants us to do to have the best experience possible. This adapter allows me to hook up a DVI cable to the laptop. I can now have one monitor hooked in the HDMI port and another hooked into the Mini Display port DVI adapter.
