The new Apple TV much speedier and interface looks much better the previous versions. Content-wise it falls short of some competitors such as the Roku. However, it is still a great streaming box and is really great if you are invested in the Apple ecosystem.

Excellent product; easy to set up and use. Siri is a huge step forward, as is the ability to navigate through apps and options with swipe and touch of a finger.

The Appletv4 is a vast improvement on the previous model. Here's some differences, good and bad, that I've noticed: 1. It's slightly taller, because of the onboard 32GB (or 64GB) hard drive, 2. Apple removed the separate optical digital audio output from this unit. This output has come in very handy, if you want to send your iTunes/Pandora/YouTube music to a separate audio system from your tv/surround sound system, that uses the HDMI port. Now, you'll have to buy a different converter (HDMI audio extractor), if you'd like to upgrade your appletv to gain its better performance and features, but still need an optical output for your separate music system. 3. Its new processor is much smoother, creating a better browsing experience, and less issues with streaming/playback. 4. The new App Store allows you to download the apps that YOU want, unlike the previous model, which now includes many new apps, including Pandora, Plex,and SlingTV, with the major exception being Amazon, a direct streaming competitor. So you'll still have to stream amazon through your mobile device and use airplay to get that show to your appletv/TV system. 5. The new aerial motion screensaver is awesome, showing flyover footage currently of NYC, SanFran, London, Hawaii & the Great Wall in China. You can also use photos from iCloud as a screensaver, but this process can be tedious to setup. 6. The new remote is Bluetooth, which has a decent range, but can be finicky sometimes. You still can use IR commands from a universal remote, as well as a new and improved Appletv control app for iDevices, which is priceless for using its keyboard function to search for content. The new handheld remote also can use siri, to search for shows by voice, and has a 'trackpad-like' sliding thumb control to scan through shows and menus quickly. I don't really like Siri, because I don't think she likes me, but the feature is there to try and use, if you want. We use this unit every day in our home, and it's been working great! The addition of Plex has been huge, so any older tv can even access our content stored on hard drives. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is no amazon app, and the lack of the optical output, which limits previous AV installations, where the appletv was used to provide audio. If I could have given 4.75, I would have! But it's definitely worth the upgrade if you're a current appletv fan!

love the new remote that comes with the new generation apple tv. had a problem with the first one that i got but was able to exchange it for a new one. you can play games and use your tv as a second monitor with airplay from your laptop or phone or ipad.

Improved interface. Lightning quick. Love the remote even though I rarely use the Siri function. If you're already tied to the Apple ecosystem, you'll love it.

I had the last gen Apple TV and was impressed but the new interface and added features (such as Siri and the touch remote) it makes it the perfect experience.

Upgraded from the 2nd gen AppleTV. I really like the touch remote and addition of Siri. The redesigned tvOS interface makes browsing content smooth and easy.

The 4th generation Apple TV is great, especially if you are cutting the cable cord. Using Hulu and the Apple TV 4th gen device fills the bill

Since I love my new Apple TV I got this as a gift for my mother in law and she loved it! The remote and Siri make everything simple to find and fun to use.

I love Apple products. The new Apple TV is and excellent upgrade. I love the new remote and the features on how much easier it is to finds and add things.

Same great product but does more. This was long overdue. The new remote is so much easier to use. No more click, click, click every time you need to do something. Now it's mostly swipe, swipe, swipe. The Siri feature makes opening apps so much easier and more. Even the games from the App Store were very easy to download and fun to use. Integrated very well with my Sony home theater receiver. App Store is very convenient. This product exceeded my expectations!

Apple TV delivers the most polished video experience today, with speedy reactions and a familiar yet attractive interface. It has the best remote on the market. Siri voice search is excellent, and useful voice commands add unique capabilities. The selection of apps is excellent, and AirPlay can be used for unsupported apps.Bad need safari internet browser ☹️☹️

Love the new features but I have not figured at why need 32 gigs in it. I’m hoping it’s not because the cloud is going to go away or lose our shares so we have to keep and library on our system. Maybe Its so we can take this on trips and hook it up to the TV there and watch the movies. But I had an older Apple and I gave it to my son. Now, we are both arguing over this new one because of the ease of the apps and the new apps available on it. If Apple and Tivo would Get together it would make both items over the top excellent.

Easy to setup and compatible with all your apple products! The new TVos is awesome and the touch remote makes the experience even that much more better!

The new Apple TV is amazing! It takes watching tv to a new level with the new Apple TV store which now offers apps and games to play! I love the new interface and remote as well as it makes it easy to find the movies, music, apps or games your searching for! In addition, Apple TV now includes Siri who helps you find content! I highly recommend this product!

A much improved interface and remote from the last generation, but some annoyances with app installation and set up which means it's not an essential update. Apple launching their long rumored subscription service may change everything though!

Love the new remote and also love how you can pick and choose your apps. My only complaint is there is not an amazon app yet... but that is on amazon.

I love really like this, i like the updated remote and how its easy to use. Although some apps are still not available, it was still a good purchase.

I've never had Apple TV before so I can't compare this version to older ones, but so far, I really like it! One of the reasons I bought this was to be able to show videos from my iPad to my whole family at the holidays without having to have everyone hover over a small iPad screen. It worked fantastic and now my mom wants Apple TV too. We used it for Netflix, Pandora and YouTube as well - all performed great. I also appreciate the "screensaver" feature that shows a slideshow of pictures from my phone (mostly of my little one.) Very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this to replace an early 2nd gen Apple TV after netflix (and others) started causing the unit to restart every 15 - 30 mins. This was a software problem on the early models - couldn't update past a certain point. The touchpad on the remote is fun, but the improvement in picture quality is massive. If I had known that the newer generation of apple TV had such improved picture quality, I would have bought one sooner. I always blamed my connection speed, but it was the box. The movie and streaming picture quality is better than DirecTV now.
