Purchased as an open box item. Worked great out of the box. Game play is a fun addition to the device. Remote feels solid in the hand and controls are intuitive

We replaced our old model so we had two that matched! It is just SO GOOD! The siri remote is amazing. The only wish is that it supported 4k. Soon enough...

Super easy to set up and use with the Siri remote. Major upgrade from a Roku, and it works seamlessly to share anything from my iPad or iPhone to the tv.

This is a great unit for the cable cutters. It works great and the interface is so easy to use. Oh did I say that SIRI is available to navigate as well

After doing research, I decided that this system was the best fit for my needs. It is very fast and the remote only needs to be charged once a year or so.

Had older version of Apple TV and upgraded to be able to download apps to device. Took a little while to get setup and had to run an update before it really worked how it's supposed to. Little pricey, but that's too be expected with Apple products.

Was kinda hesitant to buy this because I already had the 3rd gen but it’s defiantly a buy. Has more to offer, and the streaming looks really stable

Went in the store looking for a streaming device for my parents, and ended up getting this, super easy to install, and use. I would buy another in a heartbeat!

I think the most impressive thing was how it "figured out" my stereo and tv system, powered it on, and put it on the correct settings. Apps are useful too.

It's been more than three years, but we finally have a new Apple TV ($149; 32GB). The last time Apple updated its popular media streamer was back in 2012, and it has really started to show its age. Especially when you consider the broad app ecosystems and 4K streaming support offered by competing devices like the Amazon Fire TV$89.99 at Amazon and the Roku 4$114.99 at Walmart.com. Thanks to the new iOS-based tvOS 10, Apple has solved one of those problems; the new media streamer now offers plenty of apps. And a new Siri-powered remote makes navigation via voice a breeze..

I think the older generation apple tv are a better option than this new one. Especially with the price increase, I think a Roku would be a better option too.

This really helped weave our plasma TV into a large Computer like usage. It has also made a more convenient Way to tap into a variety of apps as well.

I purchased an AppleTV "open box." It came without any manual, but I was able to install it, with some difficulty. Then, the sound was only from the background of a film, not the actors. After 2 hours of tech support from Apple(!), we discovered that my receiver could not process the sound correctly in its default mode, due to the AppleTV using a more "advanced" sound mode. My receiver and/or the AppleTV could be reconfigured to work correctly -- by choice of Apple audio output "quality.". Apple said that even with the accompanying instructions I might not have been able to identify and resolve the issue, however. I suspect the original purchaser had a similar problem and simply returned the product (sans instructions). Key learning: Insist on receiving or having access to "instructions" when purchasing an "open box" product.

Another great addition to my Apple collection! I can collaborate all my devices together as well as stream Netflix and use other apps.

Great for Apple users. I love being able to use my iPad as a remote and downloading apps like youtube and tv station apps straight to my television.

could be better priced and easer to use do no if I will try something different

For years I have been deep into the google ecosystem and thought I would never see that day I swapped to apple. GoogleCast is a great product but this apple tv is pretty cool. If you have and iphone or a mac this is a great accompanying product.

Recently upgraded our AppleTV and love the new version. Remote is better and you're able to pick out the apps you want on the home screen which is nice.
