i had waited to get an updated AppleTV - I had been using the version that did not have a Siri remote. I don't have a 4K TV, so I opted not to buy the newest version. To be honest, I should have bought this when it first came out, I did not realize how much I was missing out! It is fluid, easy to use, the software is up to date, cannot complain!

The new remote makes navigating easy and the Siri feature is exceptional!

Had the apple third gen tv. Got the 4th gen when it came out. Way easier to use. New remote is great and recharges with your lightning cable. Way easier to stream from your Mac, iPad, iPhone even android rite to your tv. Love this thing

The product has not changed too much from the original. Yes you can get more Apps, built in memory, and a redesigned remote, but it doesn't really justify the need for a new Apple Tv if you already have one. The remote's best feature is the ability to go back to the main screen with one click instead of the constant clicks needed in the original Apple TV. Im sure the new Apple TV is designed based Apple's future product/services.

My online spin app only streams through Apple and I (alas) am a PC person. Had to buy the Apple TV which is not a tv but a little plugin like Chromecast to stream my spin class onto the big screen in front of my spin bike. Set it up in minutes and it worked. Only complaint is that they call it Apple TV. When I was troubleshooting my problem I was told you have to buy an Apple TV. As I had just bought my new tv didn't want to buy another one. Was surprised (pleasantly) to find out it was an inexpensive streaming device and not a TV...;-)

This Apple TV, 4th generation, isn't much different from the 3rd generation for my purposes and I have both. I don't play games or need the added memory it has on board so it's does the same thing as my old one but maybe faster. For the price that Apple charges (as usual) you would think it would stream 4K like the new ROKU 4 but not a chance. And the ROKU is cheaper in price. I really have no complaints about this item except for the new remote. The touch pad takes a lot of getting used to. It took me a few days before I started actually getting to where I wanted to be without going all over the place. Now I use Siri voice command whenever I can and I also downloaded the Apple TV app on my iPhone and it's easier to use for navigating. This is a typical Apple product...way too expensive and needing to catch up with others like ROKU for services (Amazon Video and Spotify) and convenience like streaming 4K. BTW, I have two ROKU's also so I'm familiar with what I say.

I have had the old AppleTV as well as a lot of TV devices. This device has a lot of potential as a platform. However, for now, it is not that much different than the older version. While it is much faster, I find that it crashes much more (but since it is fast it restarts quickly). I find the HDMI-CEC unreliable so I shut it off (could be my TV). I also find the remote trackpad hard to use. I prefer a physical arrow. I would recommend this if you have a lot of other Apple stuff. If you just want to stream there are other cheaper options.

I have been using Apple TV since the first generation. Generation 4 is definitely the snappiest one to date. The App Store is a nice addition - allowing you to add or remove stations, content providers, and games. Combine the Apple TV with a bluetooth gamepad can give you a decent alternative to some of the bigger consoles. True gamers will laugh at this comment - but I'm thinking more for the 4-10 year old range. The remote is a step backward. I loved the simplicity of the last generation aluminum remote. I'm constantly holding the current remote upside down because of the inability to distinguish its position in the dark. Plus, I wish manufacturer's would stop making remotes in shiny black plastic. It's a fingerprint magnet. A matte finish (or aluminum) will work great on a device you are supposed to touch (and use) often. Overall, it's a good device - but there is plenty of competition these days. I also own similar products from Roku and Amazon. So a deciding factor may be where you get your content. Apple TV does not let you watch content from Amazon Prime, for example. Unless you intend to fill up on the App Store, the 64GB version may be overkill. Your mileage may vary.

Not the 64 gb model but I have both and can tell no performance issues.

Love the new remote on the Apple TV. Easy to use and has great options.

I like my Apple TV. It does everything advertised with regards to your streaming content. The only thing I don't like is the remote. All the buttons are in the middle.When you reach for the remote in a dimly it room, there is no way to tell which end of the remote is the correct end you should be pointing at the TV...thus if the remote is backwards in your hand...instead of pausing your show you end up exiting your program. I know its a minor annoyance but it is irritating. Other wise I have been happy. Easy to set up and easy to use.

This is a bit pricier than previous versions, but it is beyond worth it. I've loved streaming everything through Apple TV. I've even played some games! The experience has been effortless so far. My only complaint would be the typing since it gives you a single line of letters and you have to scroll back and forth between them as you sell out your username/password.

In the past I would've said definitely get an Apple TV box. However with most TVs now it's really not necessary unless you're going to purchase movies off of Apple's iTunes service. I happen to have a large collection of Apple movies because they have deals every week on a new selection of movies. If you're going to be using Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Then any other device or smart TV will get you there. You should note that AppleTV does not have Amazon on it simply because they compete against each other. For what this does it's a wonderful interface and if you are into using and having games available to you through the App Store and definitely get the Apple TV.

Bigger, faster, better. If you will use for games, get a controller.

Great, simple and fast. Easy setup. Works great for streaming video.
