    Apple TV rocks the house

We added Apple TV to the house and the whole family enjoys the ability to listen to music on our new sound system. The set up was easy and the new navigation on the handheld remote is neat. Little tricky at first but much easier. Apple continues to amaze with their outer box experience on the new AppleTV!

    Impressive Streaming Device

I did a lot of research into a streaming device for a second TV and decided on the Apple TV 4. I'm not a cord-cutter, so having a cable subscription really opens up the power of various apps on this device. Using the cable provider login, I can access live and current content on many of the TV channel apps. My provider also has a live TV app on the iPad, which I can mirror to the TV for truly live TV. I mounted the ATV4 to the back of a new Samsung 32" LED TV and I now have a portable TV to move around the house. I love the setup and would highly recommend it to anyone. The ATV4 is fast! It streams HD content almost instantly, with almost no noticible buffering. I have a Samsung Bluray player that runs Netflix on my main TV and its noticible slower to "get up to" HD video. The games on the ATV4 won't compete with PS4/XBox1, but they are a fun little time killer. I don't have a game pad for the ATV4, but that might make a few games better to play. If you have a Mac computer, there is a way to sideload Kodi onto it, but I have not attempted this.

If you are already a apple user this is a no brainier .. You get the added bonus now of using the touch remote that feels more like other apple products.. I had owned the first Apple TV but decided to gift it to my daughters and make this upgrade .. Only negative so far is the tv remote and apple remote will fight each other for volume and on and off features.

    Best Cord Cutting Setup

Full disclosure, I've always been a loyal Apple customer; their stuff just works, and works together seamlessly. Sure there are sacrifices to withstand in some areas, but the benefits of continuity and the Apple ecosystem vastly outweigh missing features for the average consumer (i.e. me). I have been on board the AppleTV train since the first generation as I have always wanted to bridge the gap between computer and TV content as intuitively as possible. The current generation achieves this swimmingly. The new interface is smooth and offers a few previously missing features: the ability to create folders for apps, and the ability to replace the top row ('main menu') of apps on the home screen that make navigation much better. The apps are richer and more robust with features and options, and there are more system options available through iCloud, home theater control, etc. That being said, I love the AppleTV and have found what I believe to be the best cord cutting setup currently available below: OTA channels - received through Tablo TV personal DVR, live and recorded content accessed through AppleTV app (includes ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS); $5/month for TV guide information subscription. Cable Channels - received and accessed through DirecTV NOW AppleTV app (about 100 channels). No cloud DVR yet, but I understand it is in the works. Most content can be found on demand through the channel's companion app; $35/month. I pay about $40/month for everything (not including internet access which would be incurred regardless of your content subscriptions/provider) and everything is in one place which were my two objectives (cheap & intuitive) for cutting the cord with the least amount of switching anxiety. Sure there is an up front cost to acquire the hardware (1 TabloTV box per house, & 1 AppleTV for each room you want to access content) but when your saving $100/month (literally, we were paying $140/month for DirecTV Satellite) the break even point comes quick and then your saving money every month. Not to mention every streaming service you may use (except for Amazon Prime) is available through AppleTV as well, all on one screen, with one remote. Just my two cents.

I purchased the Apple TV based on how easy it was to use. Very intuitive to use. My smart tv had access to some of the same apps but was a pain to access. I hooked this through my surround sound and was up and running with my Hulu and Netflix accounts. Recommend this unit to anyone that is not tech savy.

After owning the last gen of Apple Tv's I must say this is wonderful improvement. The remote has Siri, has an easier menu selection, and is rechargeable with a lightning cord. The games are a nice added feature (finally) and the touch pad in place of the circular controls is also a much needed improvement.

Not bad overall. I purchased because I was under the impression I could use this exclusively to watch tv and would not have to get cable service in my new home. But upon buying realized I was unable to download xfinity or Verizon fios. So although I can't exactly download those items, I can just use my phone to AirPlay or laptop or AirPlay its not a total loss. Siri is very good on here though and can understand everything I've said so far.

I read the reviews and wanted to make sure that it was what I wanted and it is! Everything you can do on your iPhone you can do on your Apple TV. Very addictive and easy to use! I had the Amazon Fire TV for a while but it buffered all the time during my movies but my Apple TV hasn't buffered at all!!

We have been using the previous version of the AppleTV for the past couple of years, which is a really good device, however we really like the new one much better. The new remote makes navigation so much easier, especially with Siri. New apps and games are being added every few days. My kids love it!

I think this version is actually better than previous version and is definitely growing on me. The remote is so responsive that at first it was difficult to control but now it is simply fast. I'm going to upgrade the other AppleTV in the house since I believe the response time is much faster.

I bought this Apple TV to replace my 3rd Generation, and I couldn't be happier. The new features and remote are a HUGE improvement over the previous models. The games are fun to play with the tilt-sensing remote, and Siri search is great! If you've got an older Apple TV, you'll love he new model.

I'm glad apple is paying attention to their Apple TV line up. We can do pretty much everything and the best part is that Apple is currently adding more features. This is one of the bests TV media boxes out there. Can't go wrong. *Plus it works with my Samsung Note 5. *Given you have the right apps.

Very versatile. First thing you'll love is the App Store. Get most apps you can find for iOS devices and view on your Apple TV. You can even download and play "games". But don't expect this to replace your PS4 anytime soon. Great experience, with upgraded (over Apple TV 2) 3rd party integration.

This new Apple TV is great! Hopefully they will add more Siri support. Being able to interact with Siri while watching a movie is great. The App Store will surely grow as well. I suggest staying with the 32 gig model. I'm only using about 7 gigs and have pretty much every app I need and games too.

I have three AppleTV's in my house, and now this one replaces the one in this living area. Hooked to a huge screen 4K TV, and the movies look great. The new remote is nice that it can control the TV volume without having to sync it to your TV like other remotes. Always happy with APPLE products!

I had an Amazon fire stick thinking it was enough for what I wanted to do for my living room TV. Apple TV 4th gen blows it out the water! It has consolidated everything I needed in terms of viewing, and airplay works seamlessly. the 32GB version is just right for TV apps.
