The $150 price tag and lack of an included hdmi cabel were hard to justify at first but after awhile it became clear that the quality of the device is worth the drawbacks It is has a fast and fluid UI, no ads, the picture quality is superb and it has many customizable settings options that make the device your own. I would highly recommend it over other streaming platforms. If cost is a concern than a Roku device would be adequate. However, if you can save up a smidgen more I think the cost and lack or peripherals are small sacrifices for what is maybe the best streaming device on the market.

Coming from the Android world, specifically the Samsung and Sony ecosystem, I'm very impressed with the Apple TV 4K 128GB (3rd Gen) and what it delivers. I bought this for the sole purpose of watching movies and shows streaming on Apple+. I use my 83" Sony OLED master series (A90J) for all other streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, MAX, YouTube, Prime, Hulu). But I love the spectacular 4K movies delivered to my Sony. For such a little box and a reasonable price tag, the quality is incredible. This was a no-brainer purchase. And because of the minimal price difference between this 128GB unit and the lesser model, it wasn't worth overthinking it.
Additionally, the remote directional keypad is touch sensitive with gesture control, it was a nice surprise. Takes a little getting used to but easy to master.
Installation was super simple. I plugged it into my eARC HDMI TV input.

Best media player out there for conventional use. So many options but Apple TV has no ads littering the interface, very intuitive, great remote and top quality bitrate and picture.

I bought this to compare to my base model 2021 apple tv 4k 32g 2nd gen device running the A12 bionic chip. All i have read is that if one owns the 2nd gen, getting the 3rd gen isn’t really worth it. Well, this one runs the A15 bionic chip and i must say it is quit snappy, not that the 2nd gen was slow as such. I don’t game so our use is streaming apps and plex. I see no judder or other video hickups at all. With the discovery+ app i would see a reduction in streaming quality frequently with my 2nd gen (i have a gig ISP) which i have yet to see on this 3rd gen. Even my wife commented on this which is huge. Is the video quality better compared to the 2021 2nd gen overall? I tend to think so and my wife agrees but it is very subtle. If one has the 2021 model and not having any issues nor video quality issues, this 3rd gen may not be worth it to you. I have family that wants my older version so it was easy to upgrade. We are satisfied.
Reason i bought this one over the 64g version is support for thread networking and an ethernet port.

It really is a great product. Certainly helps if you have other apple products (especially AirPods). It’s intuitive, looks great, fast, and aesthetically pleasing. I’m so happy with this purchase.

It is everything good we read it would be—and then some! From the moment we set it up, our new Apple TV has been delivering crisp visuals, smooth performance, and a dangerously easy way to lose track of time ‘just watching one more episode.’ Even the remote feels like it went to design school. Huge thanks to Best Buy for making the whole experience seamless. Five stars, zero regrets—except maybe our sleep schedule!

I've tried Roku, Fire and Shield all have significant shortfalls in either reliability or usability or ads!
The apple TV+ is easy to setup, no ads, and excellent picture quality up to and including HDMI 2.1b and Dolby Vision.
As I don't use or own an iPhone or iPad it was very easy to setup my old BT keyboard to enter all the credentials to all the services!
The same when I wanted to add BT headphones so I can watch sport while my wife works from home. And using the headphones automatically mutes my Onkyo AVR--bonus!!
The only slight issue I've found is that Dolby TrueHD or DTS:X. will only play in 5.1--no 7.1 height channels.
The included Siri remote is small and slippery-- fixed by getting a silicon sleeve--also the touch pad is WAY too sensitive so I've turned that off in the setings.
Can enthusiastically recommend as the best overall streamer.

I was a Roku person for a long time but mine broke after many years so I decided to try the Apple TV just to see if it’s really any better. After using it for a month now, I do have to say you pay more, but you also get a lot more. The unit and the remote just feel premium. The interface on the TV and the screensavers are just much more hi-res giving your TV a more expensive feel.

I wanted to get Apple TV 4K with the higher memory. I also like that it has USB-C input to charge the remote.
I have the second generation Apple TV and this one seems to be much faster. I love Apple TV because they update and fix bugs on a regular basis.
Set up is so simple. Plug the HDMI into the box and then the TV then plug the power cable into the box and plug in the power supply. Use your Apple ID and it knows what apps you want.
Compared to a Roku device it is so much faster. The screen is simple and looks like your iPhone or iPad screen. There are no ads like on Roku. The Apple - TV 4K 128GB (3rd generation)(Latest Model) - Wi-Fi + Ethernet just works great. I can’t think of a single issue I have had while using this for many months.
The only thing I do not like is how small the remote is. I bought a third party case and now it is perfect. I have larger hands and trying to hold the remote out of the case and use my thumbs just wasn’t working.
I would highly recommend the Apple - TV 4K 128GB (3rd generation)(Latest Model) - Wi-Fi + Ethernet.

The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) delivers excellent performance with its A15 Bionic chip, ensuring smooth streaming and vibrant 4K HDR visuals (I do notice better video quality on my TV). The updated Siri remote is user-friendly, and integration with Apple services like TV+, Music, and Fitness+ enhances the experience.
The main reason I chose it over other streaming devices is because of FaceTime integration using iPhone’s Continuity Camera. I got a mount from Amazon and it’s fun to FaceTime on TV.

I really am pleased with this purchase. This item is easy to use, great picture, easy to install, love the remote and how easy it is to use! This device integrates easily with other apple devices, and downloading streaming services was so easy.

Apple TV’s have always been solid streamers, but ever since I switched from TV’s to projectors, I’ve had my issues. This is the first model that has been plug and play with no color or contrast issues in HDR mode - since my projector is BenQ and HDR10 based.
It’s lighter, faster, the remote is finally universal with USB C charging, and the picture quality is near perfect plug and play into my projector… Great upgrade!
If you’ve got last gen’s model and don’t need the HDR10 standard in box, it’s a harder sell, but if you do and want to watch content as intended, it’s a must have! And yes, they did patch this somewhat last gen via firmware, but it’s no comparison. I’ve got both, and side by side, the new one handles HDR10 better across the board - at least in my specific use case.

Performance is great - speed and picture quality. Nice heavy quality remote. Soon you’ll be able to videoconference on your TV. I appreciate the 1 gig Ethernet port and large onboard storage.

I have a Sony led TV that’s getting older and apps were loading much slower these days so I was in the market for streaming box or stick. I’ve had other streamers but they always aged (aka died) quickly. This caught my eye with house fast and smooth the interface was and it had the same chip my iPhone 13 had in it. But eggs sold me on it was the fact that it could stream my music collection that is on my PC. I have a home theater setup and usually connect my phone via USB or Bluetooth to listen. But now, through home sharing on iTunes and the computer app in Apple TV, me and my wife can easily play music from my collection. So is seeing heavy usage. Oh it will have all the common apps and games, most support Apple TV os.

Apple TV is a streaming and entertainment device that has evolved over the years to become a versatile and feature-rich addition to your home entertainment setup. After using it extensively, here's my review of Apple TV.
Pros:
1. Stunning 4K HDR (5/5): Apple TV offers some of the most impressive 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) visuals on the market. Whether you're watching movies, TV shows, or playing games, the picture quality is exceptional.
2. tvOS Ecosystem (5/5): The tvOS ecosystem is a treasure trove of content and apps. You have access to popular streaming platforms, sports apps, games, and Apple's original content through Apple TV+.
3. Siri Integration (5/5): Siri's voice-controlled remote adds convenience to your TV experience. You can search for content, launch apps, and even control your smart home devices with voice commands.
4. User-Friendly Interface (5/5): Apple's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and discover new content.
5. Apple Arcade (4/5): Apple TV is compatible with Apple Arcade, which offers a diverse library of games for both casual and dedicated gamers.
6. Integration with Apple Devices (5/5): If you're in the Apple ecosystem, Apple TV seamlessly integrates with your other Apple devices, allowing for easy content sharing and control via AirPlay.
7. Dolby Atmos (5/5): With Dolby Atmos support, Apple TV elevates your audio experience with immersive, multidimensional sound.
Cons:
1. Price (3/5): Apple TV is positioned as a premium streaming device, and its price reflects that. While it offers an array of features, it may be relatively expensive compared to some other streaming devices on the market.
2. Siri Remote (4/5): The Siri Remote is functional and sleek, but it is known to be delicate and prone to damage from drops. Consider using a protective case.
3. Gaming (4/5): While Apple TV supports gaming through Apple Arcade and the App Store, it may not compete with dedicated gaming consoles in terms of gaming depth and performance.
4. Limited Free Content (3/5): Apple TV doesn't offer a vast library of free content, and most of its content requires separate subscriptions or purchases.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Apple TV is a top-tier streaming and entertainment device that excels in delivering stunning visuals, a rich ecosystem of apps and content, and seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. Whether you're a movie buff, a sports enthusiast, a gamer, or someone who values convenience and quality, Apple TV offers a wide range of features to enhance your entertainment experience. While its premium price may deter some, those who appreciate the Apple ecosystem and demand exceptional picture quality will find it to be a worthwhile investment. It's a versatile and future-proof device that ensures your home entertainment is nothing short of extraordinary.

This streaming device really simplifies tv viewing. Netflix and Prime video were always difficult to launch on our TV. At the recommendation of a knowledgeable Best Buy salesperson, we purchased this . Installation by a great Geek Squad tech was seamless. We are fans of Apple products and this is one more reason to stay with the brand.

If you are into the apple-verse this is a perfect add on. Works as a Home Hub, brings together most streaming services, music library, games, fitness, you name it.
Can't go wrong with it!
