Amazing! Just a step up from v1 and way better than the chrome cast I tried (kept pausing to buffer and I wasn’t running an Ethernet across the house for it). I can seamlessly airplay from my phone with no issues and watch many other apps and games that other platforms don’t! The remote is much better from the first model too! The best part is I know this is worth the price. It will LAST!! The previous model still gets updates, it’s just not 4k. I love the Apple TV and was dumb to ever try to switch something else lol

Very good unit, I'm happy to get rid of the Roku ads and snooping.
However there are 2 problems that I encountered.
1. Debugging connection to ethernet is a pain. It couldn't find the DHCP server but that isn't obvious. If you unplug the ethernet it switches to wifi. Finally had to reboot both the switches on my network.
2. And this is the big one. If you are connecting your TV to a home theater system (i.e. Atmos receiver and speakers or a Sonos system) audio errors and dropouts are rampant when watching anything that has advanced audio formats or the audio format switches in the course of the program. Apple has finally conceded this is a problem on their side but the public release of tvOS 26.4 has not been released as of 3/12/06. I joined the public beta to get the fix.

I purchased this device because I’m part of the apple ecosystem and so far this streaming device has been very good. I really like all the features this device has and how I can have this device apart of the ecosystem makes for more seamless experience. I really like how I can use my AirPods or any Bluetooth device to listen to what I’m watching without disturbing anyone late at night.

Love my 3rd generation Apple TV box. I had the first generation- The picture quality appears to be better,it supports4kHDR and has Dolby. Connects easily to WiFi Just overall an improvement from my 1st generation Apple TV Box The remote works seamlessly with the box. Just a note: Your 1st generation Apple Remote will not work with the 3rd generation box.

We love our Apple TVs we have so many of them I lost count, lol but I would definitely recommend this. It is extremely fast and we use it integrated with our home automation system. It’s so nice to be able to come home at night and if your porch light isn’t on, you can integrate it with a smart switch and turn your lights on so you don’t have to open the door in the dark.

A must have if you want to do HomeKit Secure Video Surveillance Cameras which I do. These cost so much and when I had one fail I switched to firestick because of the price. Ultimately I bought another one of these because they are better still not sure they are worth the money but if you are in the Apple ecosystem I’d recommend it especially if you plan on getting cameras that integrate with Apple HomeKit secure video because you have to have this or a homepod

Going from a Firestick 2nd gen to this was quite an upgrade. I can watch Pluto TV without a problem now and integrates with my existing Apple hardware. Love it!

I bought a Samsung QN90C and even though it's a 2023 TV, I find their smart TV experience to be lacking. Tizen was never my favorite platform for streaming media.
I decided to give the Apple TV 4k a go and was pleasantly surprised. Super small device but packs so much into it with a smooth, quick and fast user experience. Apple TV offers all the major streaming app that I use, mainly Max, Hulu, Netflix, Youtube TV, Prime and some others like Cruncyroll and Twitch.
Compared to my TV's native apps, this thing is blazing fast with zero delay from buffering out content to just general browsing it's UI. Even if you're TV is older or feels generally sluggish, this device will breathe new life into it.
The build quality feels premium and even the remote has a nice feel to it but I added a silicone case to it to protect it.
Most suggest hardwiring it too if possible which I would as well but through WiFi and with gigabit internet, the speed test app shows it running about 500-600Mbps symmetrical. More than plenty and I'm impressed with it's WiFi performance overall.
It's also has a nice auto picture calibration mode to set your picture settings to a decent picture. Probably not enough to a purist's liking but definitely good enough for your average user.
If you have Apple Airpods, this thing is amazing using them pair with your Airpods. It introduces spatial audio and basically gives you your own private theater sound experience. I was surprised at how you can feel the rumble of explosions too through just the Airpods and Apple TV 4k setup.
All and all I'd definitely suggest this for anyone looking to upgrade their TV experience. A little on the pricey side but well worth it for the ease of use and seamless experience.
