The picture quality is much better than streaming from my TV. It has Dolby Vision which is unbelievable. Well worth the extra money compared to Roku.

Can your eyes tell the difference?

I have had the previous gen Apple TV and I must say that I can't notice the difference. I guess the good thing is that if you have bought HD movies on Itunes previously, as the new 4k versions come out, you get your movies upgraded for free. This is one of those items that you can talk about the specs and geek out, but you won't be able to tell the difference.
