    We all use the older version but were frustrated that you couldn't search for and add new apps. This new version (4k) allows for new apps to be added and has a lot more functionality than the older one. This is my second (4k unit) purchase. It's great that you can take with you when you stay at hotels or other places that have internet access.

    Now that I have a smart tv I weigh the value of having Apple TV. Sound is better when I play something through the tv’s OS, but picture is better through tvOS (Apple).

    I have 3 different generations of Apple TV’s and obviously this 4K is the best, I bought it together with a Disney + subscription and I couldn’t be happier, the signal feed coming out of it makes a 12 years old plasma look amazing, great choice for a good display without smart apps, in some cases it’s better than the software included with some smart TVs.
