This is my first unit for streaming. I thought I would jump into the 4k streaming devices and I am not disappointed. I have used it for streaming football Sunday ticket and it not only provides a good picture but the stream is consistent with little buffering issues. Previously used my PS4 for this and it always had to buffer or would lose a good picture and was watching a blurry football game for short moments. I am still playing with it but have not had success yet with figuring out how to get a solid 7.1 or dolby digital plus output on my receiver. Can't wait for dolby atmos upgrade!

Many people would point out that Apple is late to the 4K game, but while 4K TV sets debut way before this streaming device came out, getting to view 4K content was limiting. Hence, with this new 4K Apple TV, Apple also made sure that they are making 4K content available through their iTunes store, which makes this device great. Together with other streaming services like Netflix, and now Amazon Prime, 4K is definitely the future. This device is easy to use, and more than just for streaming shows. You can play games with it. and I use it with AirPlay to test out presentations.

Absolutely GREAT product. I researched & researched & researched some more before finally purchasing this product yesterday & I must say I’m very pleased. Set up was a breeze and I was watching Apple TV within a few minutes. It’s a bit pricey compared to other streaming devices but well worth it. I’m an Apple Junkie and I’m as pleased with Apple TV as I am with all my other Apple devices. The only negative I have is that for $180 I would have expected it to come with the HDMI cable instead of having to purchase one. (Shrugs shoulders) Oh well I have no regrets.

Excellent picture quality when in movies and when available within the apps. The sound quality is even better than the apps on my television! I have cancelled my subscribtions through another service for viewing on my Apple Tv. Only minor downside; the remote takes some getting used to. The remotes touchpad is super sensitive. I have to make sure it is placed in a location where it cannot be touched or even brushed with a pillow or blanket. Maybe having a click to activate it before use would be nice. Speech recognition works really well too

Best TV box in 4K. It is little expensive than others cast devices but this is awesome. I can mirror my Mac, iPhone, iPad. Very easy to setup. The only thing I miss in the package is HDMI cable, I have to buy it separate. For the price we pay they should include it in the box.

The good: Image quality is superb, and ease of use - well, it's Apple, so you know what to expect. It stars fairly quick and will go to sleep if you forget to - it's probably a very standard feature. Note that you can't turn it off. The bad: The only thing Apple got wrong here is the remote control. They made it slick and multifunctional at the same time - and at the end, clicks and slide can get mixed up, and become VERY annoying. The older remote was more "traditional" and worked better. Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning. It is more expensive than other streaming devices, and I'm not sure the overall quality (image and ease of use) is worth the difference in price. I HAD to buy it because the Spectrum app is ONLY available on AppleTV (and the app itself is crap but has NOTHING to do with the hardware itself).

Simple traditional Apple iOS interface. By far the most robust and interactive smart streaming device on the market. It’s fast and NOT clunky like the rest. It doesn’t slow down and wear itself down. Extremely satisfied. Just get it.

I’ve got them all Roku ultra, 4K fire box, ChromeCast everywhere and right now Apple TV 4K is my favorite. Biggest reason is iTunes movies are automatically upgraded to 4K at no additional charge when available in 4K hdr. Movies Anywhere service has allowed to get most of my Vudu on iTunes giving me tons of 4K hdr content at no extra charge. The only downside is your hdmi may have to be upgraded, I know smart Uncle Bob says all hdmi cables are all the same and this is corporate ploy to get you to spend more money. This time Bob is wrong. After replacement of my old cable with the lastest revision, not a crazy 100$ cable with crazy platinum tips but an aftermarket version built to the latest specks($12), I was able to 4K hdr with Dolby Vision. The old cable wouldn’t work. Anyway great box, and the Amazon app is due anytime now. It will be the box with the most big name video services. Roku ultimately is and I believe the king of most channels, you most likely will use a few. Apple TV has them plus iTunes 4K content. Mostly Roku has a ton of unnecessary channels along with the few usable ones. A software update or new services on any box will tip the tides in favor of that box, so for now it’s Apple TV. Tomorrow is anyone’s guess. At this point I believe it’s software not hardware that make the box. They all do 4K hdr but ultimately it’s how it’s presented. They all have strengths and weaknesses. Really you have use them all and it just sorts itself out and a dominant box you return to emerges. And it changes all the time with added features and services. They all work fine but sometimes things are better even a little better. You will always go with the upgrade, ease of use, extra features, less steps etc. I like Apple TV it’s more expensive, you can save 100 $ and go with Roku or fire box. Dominant ecosystem is always a deciding factor as well. Apple, Amazon,Google. The box you decide on can only be determined by individual needs, family by family

The interface for the AppleTV is way better than other boxes. It is way more responsive and intuitive. The remote, with its buttonless trackpad for navigation is brilliant. I also own an Amazon Fire. It doesn’t hold a candle to the AppleTV. The new 4K movies look great on my TV.

We have a bunch of the 3rd generation Apple TV units, and reading the specs and reviews of the gen 4 and gen 5 didn't make it seem as if they offered that much more in the way of capabilities or performance to justify the upgrade price. Now that I've spent some time with the gen 5 Apple TV, I'm really enjoying it. The faster chip is nice, as is the new interface, and the fact that it seems automatically to sync apps with my iPad. I'd rate it more highly except for things that aren't really within Apple's control, such as the fact that Netflix doesn't contribute to the Apple TV app, and Frontier FIOS forces you to re-authorize everything, unlike some other providers. So, it's not quite the seamless viewing experience one might want, but it's getting closer, and it's already quite nice. Also, a big shout-out to everyone responsible for Zwift on Apple TV. Whoo whoo!

Really easy to install and the interface is great. The picture quality on my 4K TV this Apple TV is just amazing

If you’re an Apple TV fan like I am there’s not much not to like about the new 4K box. This is my 2nd 4K box in about my sixth Apple TV. It’s extremely fast works great in picture quality is amazing. Just be aware that you have to have a TV capable of running it to get 4K resolution. The complaint I see from people is because they don’t understand how works or understand how to hook it up. If you’re in the market for an Apple TV don’t hesitate to buy the new one.

The last piece to complete my Apple conversion, and I love it! I can stream anything off iTunes on my computer, I don’t have to use bandwidth over and over by downloading movies onto my computer’s hard drive and viewing off of it, it was so easy to set up, just hold my phone close and it took all the information it needed. There’s a lot to view, games are fun, it’s fast and responsive, the resolution looks just great on our 65” 4K screen, I’m very happy with this!

Cancel your cable company, get Hulu, and buy Apple TV. We purchased Apple TV because the Samsung Smart TV features weren’t that great. It was constantly disconnecting from our home wifi. The Apple TV has great WiFi connectivity, the user interface is awesome, and the setup was super easy. My wife can play her music and look at pictures directly from the tv. Additionally, since we preordered Disney+ I wanted to make sure it would work on that unit and it does. I read that Disney+ wouldn’t be available work on Amazon Fire Stick. The one thing I wished was different was the back of the remote is a very smooth metal which makes it somewhat challenging to hold. They should’ve made it the same material as the top side of the remote. Not a big enough issue to ding them a star. The Apple rep suggested we get the 32G not the 64G and he was right. Overall SUPER happy with the purchase!

I have several of these units, along with a major competitor product. I believe that apples user interface and performance is superior. It should be, given the higher price, but it is a superior unit, in my experience with apps, speed, interface, and picture quality.

If you have a 4K TV and you’re invested in the Apple Ecosystem, then this is a must buy product. Although it’s not the cheapest in the market...the quality, OS, easy of use, ability to mirror, processor, etc. make the difference. Although many smart TVs can do similar functions of the Apple TV, the speed in which this device does it, the growing app store, previous iTunes purchases and having everything in one area...has me using this as my only connected device to my TVs. I actually returned 3 out of 4 cable boxes and replaced them all with Apple TV devices. We can stream what we’d like and continue watching where we left off in any room. We listen to music, play games, watch movies, tv shows, our Spectrum channels, project pictures, small videos from our phones, etc. Only thing it misses is a brower, but being able to mirror from your phone gives it the option to project web searching on a 70” screen.

This was my first experience with Apple TV and I was not disappointed. Amazon Prime is now available via Apple TV so you can enjoy all your subscriptions in one place. The quality of video is amazing from any service on Apple TV, and being able to access all your Apple purchases on the home entertainment center is great! Being able to quickly display videos from your iPhone/iPad on your TV is an excellent feature as well.

I've had trouble getting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos TV/Movies on other devices like Roku, XBOX, and even Fire TV. The AppleTV offers the most of that content. Like Disney+ doesn't even offer their TV/Movies in Dolby Vision/Atmos on the Roku, but it is there on the Apple TV. Best interface IMO and having tried them all, it's my preferred choice. My only minor complaint is the remote being a little difficult to use at first, but I got it down pretty quick. I've also discovered that my Apple TV lets me use my TV remote to navigate the interface too. It works great with my Onkyo TX-696 receiver and the sound is the best from the Apple TV as well. Overall, my recommendation is to get the Apple TV. The video and audio quality is the best I have found.

Got the new Apple TV 4K on launch and have been very happy with it. Set up was easy and so far the unit has performed as expected. 4K picture quality with itunes movies is good. I thought I would have trouble using the touch sensitive remote for navigation based on some other reviews I read but that turned out to be a non-issue. Would recommend Applecare since it is an expensive device.

Mainly use it for Netflix in 4k. Great picture. Works smoothly. Good interface
