Got it installed, so now I'm ready for The Last of Us debut 1/15. Seems snappy and enjoying it so far. Used $5 price match and $5 certificate. First Apple device. Just make sure you have a highspeed cable for Dolby Vision. I ordered a Zeskit.

Insignificant upgrade from 2nd gen for most folks

The remote is still not as good as other streamers and frustrating. It also fails to offer pass through audio which is a huge barrier for dedicated Plex servers, forcing us to use Nvidia shield. The hdr10+ is a nice feature and make a PQ difference. Can’t see the need to upgrade from the 2nd gen to 3rd gen for probably 90 percent of people. If apple updates to allow pass through audio it would be a great box.

As usual some may say it's overpriced and others may say it's worth it due to the apple ecosystem, its software and hardware. Put me in the latter group. To me even when apple gets it wrong, they make it right.
