Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Apple TV's ease of use, intuitive interface, and the functionality of its remote and Siri integration. Many appreciate the access to the App Store and the streaming capabilities, along with the improved performance and picture quality. While some wish for a simpler setup process and a lower price point, the lack of 4K support is also a frequently cited drawback.

I have three of these new Apple TV 64 gig in my house. I love them I have one on each TV. I am going to cut my cable TV down to the basic plan. I find myself watching Apple TV rather than anything else. I do wish that Apple would let Amazon prime add a app. Then I would be in heaven. I will be buying another one for my garage TV as well. Try one You will be hooked. I have everything that Apple makes. Mac's iPhone, iPads, iMac, iWatch you name it I have it. Not only one or two. I have to buy in three's So our house is an Apple house. We love us some Apple Apple and Mac products.

Have to pay for everything . Not worth the price of $159, twice as much or more than the average.

    Great New Remote!

I live the new Apple TV it has great apps, and I love how easy it connects with my iPhone and MacBook Pro flawlessly. And Apple is improving on adding great apps to the App Store! I bought it in December, 2015 and I already see new apps in the App Store already! I love the upgrade to the remote, you won't be disappointed if it's time to upgrade than do so, if you don't own an Apple TV than by all means skip the 3rd Generation Apple TV and go out and buy the 4th Generation Apple TV!

    Apple TV 4 is Awesome!

The new Apple TV is completely awesome! Very fluid operation and SIRI makes it truly easy to navigate. I especially like using SIRI to search for movies on Netflix. This is a great leap forward for online TV. Looking forward to new Apps. and software updates, so ATV4 can reach its full potential..

Excellent new OS and applications interface. The new Apple TV controller sets a new standard for touch based controllers. The addition of Siri is also completely amazing and much more impressive than the iOS version. If your already a fan of Apple products this will not disappoint.

    4th Gen Apple TV

Apple TV is pretty fast and responsive as far as streaming devices go. Take note that this is the 4th Gen so no support for 4K. A handy feature is the ability to use Apple Air Play if you are in the Apple Ecosystem. Meaning that streaming video and sound across multiple devices is fast and the connection is pretty solid. Ultimately it is worth it if you already have other Apple devices, watch a lot of content near a TV and like a user interface that is easy and with a clean and simple design. Actually, this may be obsolete now with the 4K version... so can't really recommend as of 2022.

The ATV lacking... 4k etc. But it is likley that will come with the next model. The app store will make this the number one TV by far. in a few years.

It's okay, few apps and photos poorly displayed

I had the Gen 2 previously and unless you are a big Siri user I don't see much improvement. It's slightly faster but I never felt the old one was too slow. There's really no new apps yet, you get similar TV, weather, streaming options, etc. That likely will change over time, but for now it's still the same essentially as the old apple TV. There's still no Amazon app, I don't know if that's Apple or Amazon but if you have Prime it may be an issue. I've yet to see any impressive feature of this over the older units. The games are no better than what was on the Iphone so I haven't found many of those that are worth playing on a TV screen. A huge disappointment for me was how it handles your photos. You can use your photos as a screen saver but it will only use 100 of them. So you can have 1000 photos in your iphoto album but the Apple TV will only store and use 100 of them, and it won't go out and get a new batch of 100 unless you remove and re-add the album manually. It basically makes the new Apple TV useless as a photo album/screens saver. It will use more photos for a screen saver if you use home sharing but that means your laptop etc has to be on, and you have to have itunes open at all time. Previous Apple TV models would stream all your photos from the icloud as a screensaver. It's been brought up to Apple and they have no plans to change it. I also prefer the old remote, the scrolling doesn't seem that great on the new remote, there are times it can't tell what way I'm swiping etc. and the interfaces of the apps etc. isn't great, they've made them larger, so you get even fewer apps/shows/etc. on your screen at a time it makes it harder/slower to navigate to and find what you want. One plus I have noticed is that previously I had problems streaming video from my macbook pro to my older AppleTV smoothly, if I streamed from my iphone it was fine, with the Gen 4 it's now smooth with both. If you like iphone games and siri, if you don't already have an AppleTV, and if you don't have Amazon prime it may be worth it. For most people I still don't think there's much more offered than the $60 gen 3 offers.

The new Apple TV is great, Siri is really helpful, the App Store was the missing piece from the 3rd generation so now it's great that it's available, the tvOS is pretty solid too, the only area where I would've liked for Apple to really work on is the design of the box it's basically two 3rd generation Apple TV's stacked on each other. But other than that I love it!

I've been having a great time with the games available on the new app store. It's been nice to have greater control over the content that's actually saved (and pushed) to my AppleTV. The remote is so much better and connecting iPhones or other controllers via Bluetooth is pretty simple. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Awesome Sauce In A Little Black Box

I've been using my AppleTV (4th Gen) for about a year now and I absolutely love it!!! The streaming picture quality has been outstanding no matter which app or service I've used. Up until last November I used SlingTV which worked wonderfully. Since November 2016 I've been a DirecTV Now subscriber and the picture quality has been even better than with Sling. Services such as Netflix and Hulu have likewise been outstanding. I wish Amazon Prime Video had an app but apparently that is coming out this fall with the next version of TVOS. My only hardware complaint is the remove. It's connected by Bluetooth and has limited functionality. In theory you can use it as a motion controller for games but in practice it leaves much to be desired. I purchased a Nimbus Steel bluetooth controller but so far only one game has really worked perfectly with it and that was Asphalt 8. As a video services delivery device this device excels. As a replacement for a true gaming device, not so much.
