This and my iPad Pro are crazy fast at transferring pilots and video to and from. It has been very reliable and j just works well. I had an old lightning adapter before for my old iPad that was not very good and unreliable to work with. The USB C format is so much faster and better. It’s good idea to pay a little more for authentic Apple products.

First and foremost, you will need an adapter if you have a mini sd card(most mini sd cards come with an adapter)to work with this adapter. This adapter only fits with regular size memory cards but will work with minis also if you user an adapter with the mini. Now this review will be short and sweet.
I recently bought a go pro camera and needed to transfer my videos from that SD card. I have a 2020 iMac that does not have a SD card slot. Pretty much plug and use. Simple steps.
1. Take the mini SD card out my camera.
2. Place the mini SD card in the regular size adapter(that came with my mini card)
3. Place that adapter into the memory card slot on this adapter)
4. Plug this adapter into one of my free USB-C ports
The transfer speed is very fast. I usually transfer videos to my 1 TB San Disk SSD Drive instead onto my computer. Depending on the importance, I may put a copy on my computer as well for backup.

I needed a device for my new, smaller computer that would allow me to view pics from my trail camera. This is perfect. It works and allows me to use a smaller computer that's easier to move around with. Unfortunately, it's an expensive item for what you get. You buy the computer, and you're stuck paying a lot of money for all the extras. There are no other options.

An absolute must have for photography and editing on an iPad like i do. From time from plug in to the system to it reading the SD card is a matter of maybe 2-4 seconds. No corrupted files or failures to upload.

Works great for viewing video / pictures from my SD card to my dash cam. I keep it in my care in case I need to get footage off of it right away from my phone

Used a Canon Rebel T6 to record my nephews Jiu Jitsu matches. Camera has a feature where you can transfer files from the camera to a mobile device via WiFi. You have to configure the camera’s settings to work with any given WiFi location, so unless you’re always at the same location, this feature is pretty much useless. The feature isn’t the most easy to use either. Found this adapter and glad I did. I grab the SD card out from the camera, slide it into this adapter and plug the adapter into my iPhone 8+. Open the Photos app and the adapter will appear on the bottom right. Tap the files you want and then hit transfer. Photos transfer instantly. Transfer times on videos depend on their length. I carry this adapter in my truck everywhere I go.
When initially using this adapter, after plugging the adapter into my iPhone, the Photos app would open automcailly prompting to transfer files. After the last few iOS updates, this no longer is the case. I would plug the adapter in and nothing would happen. I would open the Photos app but the adapter icon would not show up either.
As of 6/14/2020 and updating the iPhone software to iOS 13.5.1 the adapter still works. The Photos app doesn’t open up automatically. You have to open the Photos app first and then you’ll see the adapter icon. I think if there are any issues, they would be more software related than the actual adapter itself.

Love it!! Does exactly what it’s supposed to. I use it to transfer the pictures that I take on my Nikon onto my iPad Pro 11 inch. It’s super fast and easy. It’s so much easier using this than transferring the photos to my laptop.

Need proof after a fender bender? Remove memory card from dash cam and put into this adapter and plug into iPad so you can show the cops that the other driver just made a false official statement to police! WIN/WIN!

I purchased this reader for my iPad. The iPad is in a case and my previous reader would not enter the case portal sufficiently to engage. This one has a cord with the proper plug that fits right in, exactly as I wanted.
