Overall pretty good, if your like me and have a one a story home and put them in easy to reach places with a small step stool then you will be fine. I have put 3 outside of my home. In a coldasack, but I will say battery life isn’t 3 months like it says. More like maybe 4 weeks. In a decently busy coldasack.other than that and having to charge them so often. Great picture quality.

Compact but powerful outdoor camera.

Great outdoor camera. Its very compact for a wireless camera. Comes in a small package with all you need to get you started. They include the camera itself, wall mounting hardware and charging cable.
Only one small complain, is they don't include any instructions on how to mount the camera (not even a rapid/quick start guide). They expect you to first download the Arlo app and add the camera there (you have to previously plug it in and let it fully charge). Then once you add it to the Arlo app, it will start guiding you through the process on how to wall mount the camera. I'm just going to put it here. If you are mounting it on wood just use the screws, if mounting it on a hard wall, you pre drill holes on your wall suing a 15/64 (Size B, 6mm) drill bit, then you insert the two included plastic wall mount tabs inside. Then you attach the included wall insert and then the camera on it. Its very secure (however, the included mount is not theft proof, I think they sell those on their website, so either mount it very high or were you can keep an eye on it so no one snatches your camera away).
I love that the camera also has a light and dual way sound, so you can hear and they can hear you if you speak to them thru the app. The video quality is great (up to 2k) and you can customize the cam with their app to better suit you (you can choose lower quality videos, setup motion detection etc so you can save on battery even more). Battery life has been good, and charging the battery has been fast so I have barely any downtime.
Finally, you don't need to pay any monthly subscriptions, however the do have one (and the camera includes a free trial for a month) if you wish to save your recordings to the cloud, have better packages and face detections etc. But even without it, its a very well rounded camera at a good price, highly recommend it, specially these days!

Our neighbor has been subject to petty theft. We have people walking through the neighborhood lifting car door handles and trying to steel stuff out of unlocked cars.
Recently I had my catalytic converter stolen with an ETA of 6 months due to back stock...
Super frustrating.
I tried to mount an wireless camera from another name brand to the parkway tree but the battery life tanked in just 1 day of use. So I got tired of climbing up and down the ladder.
So fast forward to Arlo Essential cameras.
Setup.
I ran through the the setup and firmware and I replaced the 2 cameras up in the tree with 2 arlos. I also placed 1 on the dash board of my car.
Day vision is great. All 3. License plates are still hard to read unless it is really close up.
Night vision with light use in the tree and inside the car behind the windshield is bad. The light hits the leaves in the tree and it over saturated the image. Same with inside the car.
App was super easy to use.
This requires a monthly or yearly subscription so no external storage allowed.
Battery.....
I have another competitor camera system that is battery and wired and it only lasts 1 days up in my tree with both camera locations. I was skeptical on the arlos but put it to the test.
After dialing back the settings that was right for me and all I got 1 full week....
The amount of video and incidents it was was enormous so not bad....
App was super easy to use. The algorithm to detect vehicle, animal, person was pretty spot on.
All together I am impressed with Arlo.
Only 2 wishes.
1. Allow for local storage.
2. Wished the resolution was higher so I could pick up license plates
Other than that.
I would recommend this product for what it is advertised for.
Side note I went ahead and bought the solar charger for this to help prolong the battery life so 8 don't have to keep climbing up and down a ladder to charge these cameras.

After doing a lot of research, I bought three cameras during the Labor Day sale. The quality of the picture is excellent. Easy to mount. The product's PDF manual on the Arlo site is greatly useful. Initially, I didn't go through the manual properly, so I called customer service many times and they are outstanding. A few times, I was mad at them because of my ignorance that the camera neither tilted nor swiveled because it needed high-pressure first time. I was afraid it would break, but the customer service personnel, Amps guaranteed a replacement which worked. I apologize for being rude to them. I recommend this product.

Awesome system for budget minded people. Color and very clear videos . Easy to install doesn’t require a base unit to use . Each camera is loaded individually. We owned an older Arlo that required a base unit that wasn’t working after an update so we decided it was time for a new system and we chose Arlo again. Arlo merges awesomely with Alexa as well!!

This is a really good set of cameras. Got a great deal for it and it was definitely worth spending the money. Good quality, different detections, spotlight, two way audio, night vision, alarm. Would definitely recommend.

The coverage and quality is good. The only complaint I have is that they are a bit too sensitive, which has my phone beeping all day long. And it drains the battery way to quickly.

Solid Cameras with Good Performance, but Room for

The Arlo Essential 4-Camera 2K system is reliable, easy to install, and delivers crisp video quality, which makes it a strong choice for everyday home security. Battery life is okay—not bad, but not great—and you may find yourself charging the cameras more often if there’s a lot of activity. The subscription plans unlock useful features, though they can feel a bit expensive over time.
One thing I wish Arlo would add is simple door or window sensors with emergency-calling capabilities, so everything could be managed under one platform instead of needing multiple systems. Overall, it’s a solid setup with room for improvement, especially around battery life, pricing, and expanding smart-home safety features.

I’ve had a ARLO system since 2017, I’ve always recommended it, this camera is a great add on. Only issue I had and frankly it was my fault, I aimed in the direction of the sun and damaged the lens so my camera quality wasn’t the best. Prior to that GREAT QUALITY!

Seamless integration with my Arlo Base Station, and easy to sync. The rechargeable battery via USB is a useful upgrade from previous camera versions that required installed batteries. The camera images are clear on smart phone. I recently took an out-of-town trip and the motion detector function worked well, giving me peace of mind while I was gone.

Bought this to see if it would work in our application for about a hundred bucks. The next day BestBuy had a sale on a 4pack of the same cameras for $150.You can probably guess the rest.(returned and bought the 4pack).They work well, but have issues with recording the videos and limited internet. Not a fault of the Arlo cameras.

Overview:
Devices are easy to setup. Download arlo app, scan the bar code inside the box and keep adding camera one by one. Picture quality (2k video) seems to be good most of the time but sometimes it gets dark depending on the position of the sun and I am not talking about direct sunlight exposure. Cameras are in the shade (see pictures), day is bright but images sometimes seems to be lot darker than usually, why is that I have no idea. I must add that when added to app each camera did run firmware upgrade. Storage seems to be one month free storage included but after that you will need to purchase cloud storage, which is unusual since all previously owned Arlo products did came with one year free storage.
Picture quality:
2k videos seems to be great most of the time, but as mentioned in my overview it gets darker periodically which is why am I taking one star away.
Motions:
Motion sensors are great on Arlo products. It allows you to set motions zones and separate motions per categories such as human, vehicles and others. No complaints there.
Battery:
Battery life will depend on your settings such as picture quality, motions detection and area of coverage. Overall I am satisfied with battery life.
Sound:
Sound recorder is awesome, gets good and clear recording.
Connection:
Periodically (and often) I do get "connecting" message which once it shows up would never go away unless I tap stop and try to reconnect again. Once I hit connect again, it would start working instantly.
Storage:
Not sure why but Arlo decided to lower included storage option from one year to one month trial
Mount:
Mounting bracket seems to be firm but limited on how much it could move to desidered posion. Compared to other Arlo products which comes with magnetic mount I must say this is disappointing. Also this "screw in" mount not very practical to remove the cameras for charging.
Conclusion:
Overall I must say that I am disappointed with this product.
Pros:
2K video
Wireless
Motion alerts
Battery life
Sound
Cons:
Periodically (often) darker images
Lots of "connecting" messages
Only one month of storage included
Mounting bracket angle limitations
Mounting brackets impractical for quick removing
Only one charging cord

The camera delivers, multiple ways to set it up, including managing its sensibility level. Image is very clear and crisp. The camera works with limited functionality without a subscription, but a subscription plan is required to take full advantage of it otherwise is not able to record or recover videos without it.

The images from these cameras are excellent! I have a total of seven cameras on my house, they pick up movement extremely well, they identify whether it is a person, vehicle, or animal. The zoom feature is great, you can read licenses plates, the night vision is crystal clear as well. Highly recommend! We do have fiber internet which might play into are wireless connectivity, which seems to run these cameras flawlessly.

Decent for the price. Rather annoying to need a subscription to save videos and clips but I knew that from the beginning. Video quality is good enough, night vision is lacking and so is the motion detection. Also the batteries don't last long but as expected for ease of setup. But as long as you need convenient security for your home this is as good as it gets.

Everything else is great except that it requires me to pay for a subscription which i wanted to avoid. It does not connect to the base station that i have and i passed the return window so that is slightly disappointing. Otherwise great size and works well. I like the spotlight that turns on at night.

We've had a wireless Arlo system for years and couldnt be happier. We moved recently and needed to upgrade a couple of Arlo Pro 2 cameras, so we bought these. They were easy to set up, work perfectly, and the price was very good. Pictures are clear and night vision is very good. Happy we stayed with Arlo!

I bought the Arlo camera and the Blink to see which of the two worked better and the truth is I'm staying with the Arlo since it doesn't use a module and the truth is when you open it on the phone the video activates faster than the Blink and connecting it is much easier and faster and one of the advantages is that it has its own light in terms of battery life it is quite durable but it also has the option of connecting a solar panel
