These cameras offer a high quality image and reasonably good battery life. The main drawback is the limited swivel of the mount. These cameras would be much easier to place if the mount had a stem that would allow it to move like the solar panels have.

I wish you didn’t have to pay to use them. They give you a 30 day free trial. I wish it had more mounting brackets. It only allows for straight mounting. No way to mount to the soffits with what is provided.

We've had Arlo for almost 5 1/2 years. The clarity and field of view were awesome. My older cameras are finally given out so I got the 2nd Generation Essential and they are just as good. For the money, I won't get anything other than Arlo! Once my sister saw the field of view between Arlo and another brand, she switched to Arlo also and is ecstatic!

1. Discharges to fast. Frequent recharging required. 2. Almost impossible to connect to Arlo hub which I already have with other Arlo cameras.

Picture is great and sound is good my biggest issue is the battery drains quickly in higher traffic area. We have dogs and I can’t stop it from recording the dogs in backyard no matter how low I set sensitivity

Cameras are great.Install and setup was easy. The new Arlo app that allows you to control the cameras is not really intuitive but I worked my way through it.

Bought these cameras to put around my home. They work great outside and have really good quality on the video it records and saves automatically.

The Arlo-Essential 4 Camera outdoor wireless 2K Security Camera has been a blessing . The cameras shows great video.

Simple to install. Good range of vision and sound. Good and affordable investment that gives me peace of mind in adding a layer of security for my family's safety.

They are okay. But having to charge them all the time may become tedious. If you set the up to record all the time they run the battery down. But if you set them up to record only when there is motion then the battery last longer. Kind of a catch 22 if you know what I mean.

I would not recommend these cameras. After 30 days, the arlo cameras will not work effectively without their service plan. (Which is pricey considering how terrible the connectivity of this unit is.) However there is no where on the box that indicates that a service plan is REQUIRED. They will send a notification that motion has been detected, but you do not have quick way of seeing what that motion is unless you have them up live! Connectivity is also a problem. Battery life is horrible. These cameras were bought as a replacement for an older Arlo--that did NOT require a service plan. Those allowed images to save to a feed. These Essential 2 Cameras are totally useless. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Biggest waste of money and they offer no security for the home they were purchased for. Oh, and customer service is only available if you have a purchase subscription! No plan...you get the ai bot.

I am happy with the way the cameras work. They are Great cameras and work great. The only problem is that you cant use them without paying for a subscription.

Great use. The set up was very easy. Downfall to them would be having to take them off to charge since they are wireless. I ended up buying the solar panel for them. That was also a easy set up.

Great camera, trial subscription was everything, it will persuade you to subscribe and not lose the luxury. Battery life is not the greatest! Very clear video especially in the daytime.

Solid performance from the Arlo brand, after having tried Eufy and Amcrest solutions prior. They are simple to pair and follow the instructions, and work great with any solar panel ive thrown at them. The point I took off is that these do not (at the time of this post) allow you to join Gen 2 to a hub, they only will connect directly to wifi. This is fine but I'd like to expose them to HomeKit like I do my 1st gens. If this isn't a problem for you, or you don't use HomeKit, then just buy them now and thank me later.

The Arlo cameras were a great purchase! The only thing we don’t love is that we have to plug it up to charge so we have to keep an extension chord close by. But overall it is a really good camera set up. We easily have all of the family members logged in on the app. And the set up of the cameras was very simple. The app is easy to use to see old footage and a live view. Overall a really good purchase!
