Image and sound Quality is great. Connection is good, in my case image is delayed by 1-2 seconds which is not bad. One of the main characteristics I selected Arlo was because the compatibility with Apple Home Kit. I was not able to connect it until I had to update the firmware on the station and reconnect everything twice. The only disappointing thing was about battery life for cameras in areas with constant daily activity (living room- kitchen), it last an average of 7-10 days. Any other camera in areas with low activity does not seem to have the issue, they've been working for more than 3 weeks and not charging them again (as of now they're in the 60-70% battery life remaining).

This camera has the best video quality I have seen from any battery operated camera. Most of the issues I had was with app sometime it's slow for app to show the cloud video clips. Also there is about a five to 8 secs delay to view the live feed. If you don't close the app when you open it again sometimes it's show cameras offline the fix was close the app complete and reopen and that seems to fix the issue and this only happened a few times. The battery life seems to be OK but my cameras are in a high traffic area. Overall I like the cameras and I am hoping with firmware updates these issues would be fixed.

I bought these when I lived in an apartment complex. There was so much action they died every couple days. But since I moved to a house they last a little over a week depending on the wildlife. Only issue is if it loses power it does. It work u til you reset the head unit which is a pain and does not always work easily. The 2 way talking is choppy and does not always work well either. But I guess if your going on picture quality it is good. But still does not read license plates even though it says it does.

    Weak WIFI and Batteries

Setup for these cameras is relatively simple and the video is great. The entire downside to this system is the lack of WIFI range and battery life. Arlo touts a long battery life but that has not been my experience. The weak battery life may be related to the higher resolution video and lack of wifi range. Not sure. Either way, Arlo needs to keep working on improving this product.

I would give it 5 stars if only their Customer Service was better trained and able to assist, and their website was more of assistance. I had some questions about the setup before making the full effort and to determine if I was satisfied with the product, but CS was not very knowledgeable about the new product and it’s features. Either way, it was a good deal, and I’m satisfied with the purchase. I got the doorbell camera also which displays nicely on the mobile application.

This is the best camera system for the money that is currently available. Arlo customer service has been excellent so far in my interactions with them. Arlo has begun to make changes to not require "cloud" storage, but they need to go further. They need to add gigabit ethernet, a local webserver for accessing photos, the ability to set the basestation IP, and the ability to store videos on an external share. Arlo should also provide better accessories, especially anti theft devices for externally mounted cameras. Do *not* believe the battery life -- you need to get power to the cameras.

This is ok for the money. Needs Instructions for set up. If the app has issues you have. I idea what to do. Having issues with the battery one - plus was told the monitoring arlo offered was free to only find out later you get charged after the first year not real happy with these.

Bought an Arlo package a few days ago and set it up myself. Smart-hub, 2 Ultra cameras with solar chargers, and two video doorbells. -Pretty easy setup. -Nice looking equipment. -Good quality picture from all cameras. -Works well with my Android phone and my wife's iPhone. -Works with the Google Home app, so I can cast to my smart TV. - One small gripe-- Package comes with one magnetic mount and one screw-in mount for two cameras-- they should include two of each. Will update review after a little time with the system.

I purchased arlo a year ago. At first they worked well. However, as time passed these cameras would freeze often. The app would say 115 days even after a reset. The battery life was not great either. Arlo customer service was HORRIBLE, however, Bestbuy was great with helping. I would suggest the Arlo 3 over these

5 camera system. LIKES: Good range, good video quality, easy install. DON’T LIKES: A bit difficult to set up scheduling different cameras to be “armed” at different times, but I figured it out. No matter what I do (in settings, camera positioning or plugged in) the recorded video starts when subject of motion detection is already halfway through the video. Missing first half of whatever happens. My Ring Doorbell gets it ALL (and more). I don’t understand why Arlo can’t perform as well as Ring in capturing the entire event.

Pros: *Great picture quality Day and Night! *Spot light it's great *Decent battery not great *Easy to install and set up *Motion detection is spot on *180*angle view you'll love that ***And it works very well*** Cons: *Some connectivity issues rare but they are *Lag of image information about 5 to 10sec All in one is a great system if u don't like wires I recommend buying a solar charger but not necessary if u can reach them easily for a recharge

It took 48 hours to realize this purchase was a mistake. I gave it every bit of chance I could, but when I dug into ARLO's customer service, it became quickly evident that they are aware of the system's lack of advertised capability. For the last 48 hours, we have received one notification after another that a car/motion occurred in front of our home. I adjusted it to not include "vehicles" and even set a "Activity Zones" which took the street out of play, and the notifications just kept coming. Viewing the live feed on my cell phone was hit or miss with it actually connecting to the app about 50% of the time. Additionally, the lag time is so great that reacting to the notifications of a real threat would be impossible. Someone would be inside your home before your phone ever went off (which you would probably ignore assuming it was just another car notification). But when it does work...the picture is pretty clear.

Arlo was once a great little home security system. Then they made various updates to their software that effectively made their systems worthless. My system used to record deer walking thru the yard at night, stray animals, etc. - now it misses most everything that should be triggered by motion. Their customer service was useless and offered no help other than trying to blame the internet connection. (My internet speed is super fast and I have no trouble with anything except Arlo. If you need video coverage for security - buy something else!

These are Arlo’s top of the line security 4K resolution cams. They are of excellent build and quality and work great. Cameras have obtained several updates that have allowed them to work flawlessly. When they first came out there were software issues but not anymore. They also give you 1hr if their premium recording service. Happy with product and service. Very easy to install them and the app too.

Love that it is in color at night versus black & white. Don't understand why it came with 2 plastic brackets & 2 metal brackets. This is for outdoors, they should have all been metal. Biggest hangup is the delay can be up to 10 seconds even on "live" feed. This also means it doesn't catch the first few seconds of activity before recording starts. Also do not like that the 1 camera says feed is disconnected/down but it really isn't. App goes down weekly but doesn't last more than a minute. Not sure why it is constant. Almost like it is resetting itself

    Arlo Ultra Security Camera (4)

I finally purchased the Arlo Ultra 4K four camera security system. I read the directions and tried to install the system and had to end up calling tech support because the software did not work. Support is very friendly and extremely helpful, if it had not been for Support, I would have returned the system immediately. It took right at three hours to set up because Support had to go through the updated software program with a two time install. Needless to say this was very frustrating but the tech was really polite so I put up with it. The overall picture is good with the exception that when the sun comes up even though the camera is in the shade it is hard to see images against my white board fence and carport walls, plus white storage shed until the sun has been up for about two hours because of the bright glare. One camera kept on going off on its own even though I had it disabled and it ran the battery down. I called tech support and told them I kept on hearing the camera making clicking noises like it was trying to turn on and engage even though the software showed the camera to be turned off. Support had me remove the camera from the housing and reprogram it to the base station to get it to function properly. I have two cameras mounted outside on my door frames with the magnetic mount holding the cameras in place. The mounts work good, the cameras stay in place and so far the batteries have not had to be recharged, they are at approximately 50% after a full charge upon initially installing them. The other malfunctioning camera drained the battery. I still hear that camera making a clicking noise even though it is turned off, tech support suggested to reboot the other cameras as well and give the problem camera a couple of weeks before seeing about returning it to Best Buy or them for replacement. It has been four weeks so I doubt Best Buy would replace the faulty camera, most probably I will have to deal with Arlo directly. I don’t feel the software system is up to date and ready for retail sales yet. I don’t like the fact that the cameras won’t run on their own unless you go to the app and activate them to see a current view of the cameras. The cameras do activate when an animal or bug goes in front of them but I would like a system that runs 24/7 with a live feed on it’s own just like a regular security system in a store is. I ask about the camera being to far from the base station outside under my carport, the signal is not strong enough to place the camera at the very back of the carport. I ask about a signal booster, a more powerful router, etc., anything I could purchase to make the camera work and tech support said nothing would make the camera work, no booster, no more powerful router, etc., they said the camera has to be close to the base station in order to have the strongest signal. Also, I don’t like the fact when you activate the software to see what the camera is picking up, it takes several seconds for the signal to go to the base station, then relay the signal to the camera, then from the camera back to the base station, then to the software, it takes too long, I would like a faster picture feed. The cameras do pick up and transmit noise well, as I can hear the birds and insects, etc. I have not been able to get the emergency 911 call software to install and the tech support could not either. This system is just not ready for retail sales and I would not recommend anyone spending $1100.00 like I did. Arlo needs to make major improvements to the Arlo Ultra 4K Security Camera System. I am deeply disappointed with this product. As far as Best Buy, the clerk knew his product and was extremely helpful on selling me the item, but once you own it, you are on your own and if you don’t buy a Geek Squad Install you can forget getting any help. Don’t waste your money on this system. Find something else, I have heard others say they love the cheaper older version of Arlo.

Arlo has provided me with this product free of charge through a friends and family program, but the content and my opinions expressed here are honest and based on my use of the product. Superior video/audio quality with smart features that prevent false notifications. We live close to a busy road with a high level of thru traffic so I was concerned that I would get a lot of false notifications of motion detection. I was able to define the motion area for detection and then exclude vehicles and animals and only select notifications of when people come into range of my (set motion areas) for my front door and back yard. This smart feature cuts out annoying false notifications. All motion detections are auto saved to the cloud for 30 days. The nighttime vision is great and I really love the spotlight feature for my front door. The cameras really do capture a wide field view and the 4k/HDR resolution provides perfect video quality. I am not a tech savvy person and was able to setup the cameras without any problems. The fact that they are wire-free helped as there was no need to re-wire to a power source and meant that I had the freedom to place them in the position that I wanted. I was also able to give access to the app to my husband so we both get a notification when motion is detected. I feel a lot more secure knowing I have these cameras monitoring our property and if something does look wrong (hope I never have to use this feature) on your instant video motion notification there is a emergency 911 feature which you can activate that will call your local police from your cell phone.

The cameras are 4K only for live view locally on the same network. The notifications and little video snippets you get on your phone after an incident are only 1080p. For some reason, the local 4k didn't work for me either, I tried to work with Arlo Tech support, and they made me send them video files numerous times, which I did, only to find that it is only 1080p. After a couple days, they agree it is a known bug from their end, and there is no ETA for the fix If you are happy with 1080p, you could just get Arlo Pro 2s which I ended up doing as they are 50% the price of these. The only additional feature is a flash/flood light, which you can get from for a $1 other places. Also, the Arlo Pro2 s come with lifetime 7 day recording for all 4 cameras, where as this 4k one requires some premium data streaming, which is 1080p anyway. Also, after free 1 year, their 7 day is only 1 camera. I would strongly suggest people to wait till the prices drop on this like 50% down, then maybe consider it.

Excellent camera system. Very easy to setup and manage, both physical installation and software management. Good app and web access. 4K capacity is amazing. Battery life is fair running 4K and best quality settings. WiFi connectivity is good within 50' blocked with walls. Cloud storage (billable plan) and storage to base unit with SD card is good. A bit pricey, but quality overcomes price.
