Initial set up and installation was fairly quick and easy. Once the app was downloaded, the directions given through the app were clear and easy to follow. The app itself is user friendly, easy to learn, and easy to navigate through. I really appreciate that if you select the siren to sound, a second window pops up to confirm so before sounding it. There are many features and setting options within the app, and it really allows for each user to set up the camera to their specific preferences. The first feature I set up through the app was the activity zone for the motion sensor. I have my floodlight camera mounted on the garage to overlook the driveway. Initially I set the activity zone to be too close to the street and it was picking up EVERY single car that passed by – which resulted in a phone notification every time. I had to adjust this zone setting several times and ended up limiting the zone to basically the length of a parked car, but, sometimes, passing cars (on my side of the street only) still trigger the motion sensor. The other issue I have with the activity zone is that for some reason, the car parked furthest away from the camera creates a “blind spot” for the motion sensor, on the side furthest from the camera. This is a problem for two reasons: First, this side happens to be the driver’s side of the vehicle so if theft were to occur, it’s possible the camera would miss it. Second, this is how a person walks up to our front door, so most of that motion occurrence is also missed by the camera. Oddly enough, the camera picks up the motion right after walking past the nose of the car, but unfortunately the view of the person is quickly blocked as they walk past the front of the garage. I currently have the camera mounted one side of the garage to look out (diagonally) across the driveway and our front yard. It’s possible that if I mounted the camera to be centered over the driveway, this “blind spot” would be resolved, but to me, it shouldn’t resort to that considering how wide I have the activity zone set at. Other than the couple inaccuracies with the set activity zone, the camera works very well. The video is high quality and provides great images. There is a reduction in video quality with limited lighting, but the flood light on the camera is excellent in providing light to improve it. In addition, with enough light present – either our garage sconce lights or the camera’s flood light – the nighttime video is still in color. If there is not enough light present, the video is in black and white, but the quality is excellent considering the conditions. The only issue I noticed with the video quality is that quick, sudden movements do result in motion blur, even in daylight conditions, but normal movement does not. With the camera installed for over a week, the battery is at 90% charge. It hasn’t gotten cold enough to see how that might affect the life, but so far, I am pretty happy with the idea that I would only have to recharge the camera every couple months or so. Even with the impressive battery life, I know I will quickly get tired of having to recharge the battery so I’m very glad that this camera has the option to hook up a solar panel charger (sold separately) to it. Overall, the camera is excellent, and the floodlight brightness is very satisfactory. The app provides an abundance of features to personalize the settings to what works best for each individual user. I think there is still room for some improvement with the activity zone set up and the motion blur, but that will likely improve as the technology evolves. Pros: High quality video, easy to install, flood light provides great lighting, great battery life, numerous setting options and app features, excellent night vision, night vision in color with enough lighting present Cons: Zone setting inaccuracies, motion blur with quick / sudden movements, easy to remove / steal if familiar with the brand

We have Arlo Pro 1 & 2 cameras at our house, and I was looking for a floodlight to add to the side of the house near our garbage bins because it's pretty much pitch black at night when I take the trash out. When I saw that I could pick up an Arlo camera with floodlight, I thought 'Great - a camera and a light!' In truth, the Arlo floodlight camera is a nice addition to our Arlo family, however there are some shortcomings that Arlo could easily fix. The camera itself is fairly large and the light can get really bright. If you have other Arlo cameras, this thing is easily the size of 2 or 3 of them. The unit comes with: - Floodlight Camera - Mounting Plate - Drywall Anchors and screws - Rechargable battery pack - Micro-USB charging cable - USB charging brick It's pretty much the all-in-one solution I was looking for. I was able to connect it with my existing Arlo base and camera set up fairly quickly. Out of the box, there was a firmware update that Arlo had available, so I used that time to connect the charging cable and charge the battery up as well. Arlo does make a magnetic charging cable option if you want to be able to essentially "hard wire" this camera up, but that option wouldn't have worked with where I wanted to mount it... not unless I paid an electrician to run an outlet nearby. The hardest part was installing the unit - mostly because I thought I was going to be able to mount it to the brick instead of the wood trim under the gutters. At the end of the day, I check the screw lengths and they were long enough to hold the mounting plate in place snugly agains the wooden trim. Just be sure to check the clearance when mounting, because you could find your space a bit tight due to how wide the floodlights are on either side. Once I had it up and running, I was able to go into the Arlo app and set up an activity zone. Something that Arlo doesn't make very clear is how to automatically trigger the light. I thought by creating an activity zone and setting the light to go off between dusk and dawn that it would automatically go off if it detected motion. True to Arlo's settings though, this camera works like their other ones - you have to have the cameras in an "Armed" mode in order for the camera to look for motion and then it'll trigger the lights. You can manually turn on and off the lights from the Arlo app - but there again is where an unnecessary limitation exists. If you want to have that setting on for the floodlight camera to automatically turn on when it detects motion, you either have to make a custom mode for it, or have your entire system on "Armed". I fee like Arlo could've made a setting for this that allows you to engage the light while leaving everything else disarmed, but it's essentially Armed or not. The video quality on the camera is quite good too - but that also depends on the strength of your WiFi signal, so your milage may vary. Overall, I'm happy with the camera. I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, but it's been up and running for about 4 days now and the battery is at 98%. I typically leave my Arlo system on a schedule setting, so it's only looking for motion during the night, so I'm sure that's helping save the battery life also.

Spent about 8 hours working with several Arlo tech staff members - couldn't get it to work. They then sent me a new one and that worked with no problems at first but a week later we had about 24 hours of rain and it quit working. I took it into the house, dried it off and it started working again. Re-installed it and that night we got a light rain and it quit working. Took it back into the house, dried it off and it worked so I re-installed it. It is now 2 days later and it is still working but I have no confidence that it will work if we get another rain.

    ## Setup and Design The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight camera comes with minimal instruction, instead directing you to the Arlo app which provides a nice overview video of how to setup and mount the camera. As you might have guessed, it's best to wait until evening to test out different mounting spots to find the best position for the camera so you can test out the floodlight and make sure it is lighting the part of your yard that you want. The camera/floodlight unit is somewhat heavy compared to many of Arlo's other cameras, so you will need to use the mounting piece included with the floodlight unit (your existing Arlo mounts likely will not work). ## Performance The LED spotlight is surprisingly bright on battery power (and can get even brighter when connected to power with an outdoor cable, which is not included). It provides plenty of light for my backyard and lights a wide area. Motion detection also works very well. It uses an infrared sensor, so it will detect animals and people and not rustling leaves or swaying tree branches. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection if you find it is triggering too often or not enough. The camera images are also very sharp with a 2K resolution that allows you to really zoom in on an image to see what is happening. ## Features - Bright floodlight: This unit gives you the benefit of a floodlight and camera in one. I found the floodlight to be plenty bright on battery power and good for lighting up my back yard. - No base station required: This camera can be setup to connect directly to WiFi with not base station required. However, if you already have an Arlo basestation, this camera will work with the VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500 or VMB4000 base stations. - Easy to charge: There is a button to release the camera unit from the mounting hardware (convenient, but not totally secure against theft) so you can bring the camera inside and charge it with the included Micro USB charger. The Micro USB port is located inside the camera, so you can't use a power bank to charge the camera while it is mounted. If you have the optional magnetic charging cable which attaches to the bottom of the camera, you could then use a power bank to charge the camera while it is mounted. - Built-in siren: The camera has a loud siren that you can activate either manually or set to automatically activate whenever motion is detected. - Homekit-compatible: iPhone users will be happy to know that the camera can be viewed in Apple's "Home" app that is installed by default on iPhones. ## Subscription Confusion One "feature" I don't care for is the forced "Arlo Smart" trial (I couldn't find a way to opt out). This makes it hard to tell what comes "free" with the camera and which features you are receiving because they are part of the trial Simple things such as a preview image in the push notification, setting activity zones and cloud recordings are not included for free with the camera. When your trial runs out, you get plain text notifications ("Motion has been detected") for all areas of the camera's coverage area with no ability to view the recordings in the cloud (they do record locally if you attach a USB drive to the base). To be clear, the camera *does* work without a monthly fee, but many of the features you might be accustomed to are not included. ## Battery Life It's hard to gauge battery life as everyone's situation is different. Depending on the environment and the amount of motion events, the camera can last anywhere from a week to a month on a single charge. I'd recommend mounting it an area that is easy to reach, but if that's not possible, you can purchase the optional solar panel or outdoor power cable. ## Summary The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera is a solid performer with a bright light and high resolution camera for keeping tabs on your home. The forced Arlo Smart trial gives you features that you might assume are free: preview images in the push notifications, activity zones, and cloud storage. Be sure to review the Arlo Smart description on Arlo's website to understand how much these features cost.

    EXCELLENT SYSTEM

We were shopping around for new security camaras. Our old one's were roughly 6 years old and really not the best quality compared to today's systems. We were comparing systems and had it narrowed down 3. This system was relatively affordable, and the app is fairly easy to use (even for an older person like me), not really tech suave. We didn't have electric close to where we needed this installed, so this wireless option had me leery on how this was going to perform. Much to my surprise install took roughly 10 minutes. Downloaded the app, ran through the prompts on the app and it was working. You can check your battery life on the app. This was probably the easiest set up I have ever had. The light brightness is controllable on the app, and the camara clarity is amazing. The light on time is adjustable, and you can set your triggers, so wildlife doesn't continue to set it off. I am planning on purchasing 4 more of these camara lights for my buildings. I currently have 6 camaras and one floodlight camara. They seem to be holding up in the outdoor weather, which was another one of my concerns. My biggest prompt for this system is the ease of setup, ease of app use, clarity of picture and affordability. Would I recommend this product or purchase it again, ABSOLUTLY.

Verdict: If you already have an Arlo setup, this floodlight is a very nice upgrade from the regular camera. The camera has an expanded field of view. The floodlight works well and adds functionality and convenience for us. First Impressions. The floodlight comes with a battery, battery casing, charging cable, and plug adapter. The floodlight is smaller and lighter than I expected. Setup. The box includes instructions, but I didn’t have to use them. I used the app to add the camera and it walked me through all the steps. After charging the camera overnight, I installed the camera where I previously had an Arlo camera. Screwing on the mount was fairly easy, and attaching the camera to the casing even easier. If you are used to the normal Arlo camera, you will like the added options for the Arlo floodlight: 2K streaming and auto movement tracking and zooming. Floodlight. The floodlight activates from as far as about 20 feet in the dark. I do not have the light plugged-in so I am not getting the full brightness from the light. Yet, the brightness is ample, and it is a nice change to have a light shine on the driveway. I have the light set to prioritize battery life, so when the light comes on, it only stays on when it is detecting movements and then stops a few seconds after movement stops. Things I like. - Easy setup on the app - Easy installation - Compatible with my first-generation Arlo Pro - Bright floodlight, with a decent motion detector - Excellent field of view Things I don’t like. - It was a bit hard to hook the casing on the mount. It didn’t look secure, so I used a pair of pliers to twist as far as it would go, then I tightened the lock screw. We are very happy with the Arlo floodlight. It is a great upgrade from the normal camera. We highly recommend it for an area where you need convenient lighting and recording.

While I had seen the Arlo floodlight cameras I didn't realize that they were battery operated like their other cameras. I had assumed that being a bright floodlight that they would require wiring so I hadn't considered adding one to my 4 Arlo cameras. While there are provisions that allow being plugged in or attaching a solar charger, I used the included battery. I checked that my WiFi would reach an oak tree near the street and installed this floodlight camera on that tree. It only takes 3 screws to attach the base and the camera mount just twists to lock on the base. Since I already have Arlo cameras installed, adding this one to the network was a snap. I set this camera up in the wide angle mode and it covers my entire front yard and more. This camera allows you to define zones where it will and won't record. I set the zone to exclude my next door neighbors driveway so that I don't get an alarm every time they come or go. Like the other cameras, you can listen in or have a conversation over the camera. There is a delay in the audio if you try to have a conversation but it works. The night vision is great and the bright light really lights up the yard (see the attached pics). There are a couple of things I wish this (and my other Arlo cams) did a little better. I wish they would begin recording sooner, and most of the time there is a delay between the time I get a notification and the time I can view the video. I love this camera/light and intend to install another in the back yard.

First things first - this is a pricey floodlight/camera solution but has nice features and usability! Overall, if you're a techie or not and want visibility around your property, this is a super option for you! Setup was easy - but driven through the app - not printed instructions. I have no trouble connecting to my existing base station and network. Like others, I was forced into a trial subscription although I already have a Premier Plan already. I couldn't figure a way to opt out of the trial. Arlo should fix that. Camera quality is awesome - and the floodlight is surprisingly bright. I've included pics in daylight, night without the flood and night with the flood. Motion detection works well, and it was easy to integrate into me surveillance schedule. Features: The siren is loud, the 160 degree view is sweet and the option to have it constantly powered is great - although the external cord isn't included (wish it was). Mounting on my garage (as pictured) was very easy as well. Again - great quality camera that I'm sure to enjoy!

I've had my floodlight camera up for just over a week now. After belonging to a Facebook neighborhood group and reading all the chatter and complaints about friendly/dog walkers getting blinded by floodlight cameras, I was very happy that my Arlo camera doesn't stay on for an obnoxiously long time, and I can actually adjust the brightness level. The image quality is fantastic, as well, with 160-degree panoramic views. I don't have my solar panel set up yet, but so far, the battery is still strong despite the camera being triggered multiple times during the day and night. When my floodlight turns on, it lights my entire porch, and I have it angled down to see faces walking up to my front door without it being pointed right at folks walking on the sidewalk. However, I can still see traffic on the sidewalk and street, which makes me feel more secure. The motion detection is spot on too - triggering events include people, animals, and cars. It's autumn, so there are a lot of leaves blowing, but thankfully, the camera seems to be able to understand leaves are just leaves. Pretty dang cool.

Great addition to the Arlo ecosystem. Flood light is very bright and can be adjusted. Camera also works very well. My only dislike is this camera has a lot of static noise when recording. I have two of these and both do it. Mounting these are quick and easy had them installed under 2 minutes. Took longer to position them. All in all I would recommend if you are wanting a camera and floodlight for security. Adding camera to your system is quick and easy as well. Will update firmware when you first install. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because of the noise interference you get when recording.

Arlo - Pro 3 Indoor/Outdoor Wire-Free 2K HDR Floodlight Camera Arlo’s Floodlight (emphasis on LIGHT) security camera is part of a very complete system with the capability of local storage, subscription and all types of other security devices available. In a competitive market for security cameras, Arlo offers a very useful mix of desirable features and great performance for this and its other devices. I’ve got other examples from several manufactures around my house, but this Arlo makes perhaps the boldest statement, aiming for “bleeding edge” parameters. PROs A very high resolution (not 4k, but 2k) for a security camera ….. and you can see it in the images. These are very detailed movie clips live or recorded. Very wide angle of view which can be narrowed for a more typical image layout. But: You can (and may) need to sacrifice resolution if you don’t have adequate Wi-Fi bandwidth and/or the camera is mounted at a great distance from a Wi-Fi node. Very strong W-Fi (with long range connectivity). The camera linked to my Wi-Fi network without difficulty just about anywhere around my house. Motion activation is flexible, easily modified in the App. In fact, there is almost nothing that can’t be adjusted: brightness, trigger sensitivity, field of view, duration of lighting (within 1 - 20 minutes), etc. Easy-to-use phone App is remarkably fuss-free, with good in-App support, to connect. Manual light control from phone App to extract even more or less brightness. Very very high light output when triggered by an event. But: Be kind to your neighbors. Wall attachment is easy with a nicely designed mount that can be easily released (twisted off). If you choose to rely on battery power and not the magnetic extension cable, this is important. The camera is front heavy, so you want it to be securely attached. You can press a button to release the housing for access to the battery. CONS: (Yeah, it’s mostly about which features are available without the need for a subscription.) Sorting out the mix of features which require a subscription and what accessories will or won’t do depending on the subscription is a bit off-putting for a new owner. SUMMARY: The stand-alone Arlo - Pro 3 Indoor/Outdoor Wire-Free 2K HDR Floodlight Camera is full of useful features simply used as a stand alone device. Adding it to a whole system and/or using an Arlo subscription is worth the cost, but accessories can get costly. I’m going to use it as a stand alone security flood-light camera (at least until I get a sense of its long term performance). It’s a unique and special way to create your own security system.

I had no issues installing this on my stucco. The flood light is definitely bright and the motion detection response was a lot quicker than my older Arlo Pro cameras. The Arlo Smart subscription is worth it for this as 1 camera price at 2.99 a month. You will only be able to benefit using all the features when you connect to an Arlo Hub versus your wireless router. The 2k video looks great and surprisingly no lag connect from my Arlo Hub with 4 other Arlo Pro cameras online. The battery isn’t an issue considering if you have low traffic and with Arlo Smart features you can set zones to eliminate motion detection from bushes on windy days.

Overall Rating 12345 Purchased the Arlo flood light and two Arlo three cameras. Love them! Simple to install, easy to use the app and excellent quality. Had no issues with WiFi, connected and stayed connected from day 1! Camera images are high quality; very satisfied! Have two on solar chargers (highly recommend) and one plugged in so battery is constantly charged. My favorite feature of the flood light is its ability to zoom and follow people and vehicles (motion detection) all on its own. We are considering one more camera for the outside and then will start adding interior Arlo cameras. Researched lots of cameras, but in the end Arlo won out and we are happy we made the choice!

Superbright LED (dimmable, 2K lumens on battery/3K on optional *outdoor* charging cable; great 2K resolution, built-in siren is very good but not as loud as the 4500 base siren. Built-in mic picks up sound well, but it is not easy to hear the Arlo owner from the speaker during two-way talk. Easy to install. I wish the mounting bracket was made of metal and had a better locking mechanism than just one small screw. No base system is needed; it will connect directly to your home Wi-Fi router.

I am new to cameras and I was trying others when I was recommended Arlo. The others I would use had static noise and catch every little motion I would wake up with over 100 notifications of just the tress swaying. I ended up traded those cameras and getting Arlo. I can say it was such a difference. Arlo has great cameras that are so smart and knows the difference in cars, humans, animals, and trees. The image was clearer and there was no back ground noise except talking. I would recommended arlo to everyone who is thinking about cameras. Im in love and for sure will be buying more

I would recommend this to a friend
