I was using DSL and decided it was time to switch to cable internet. When looking for a cable modem I decided to go with the Motorola. I hadn't planned to buy this particular model, but when I saw that it had the wireless router built in, it was a no brainer. Although it was more expensive than some of the others I looked at, it had everything that I was looking for and more. For instance, it has the next generation wifi, which I don't really need right now, but it's there when I need it down the road. Installation is plug and play. It comes with its own password and cannot be changed. I'm very happy with the setup and I'm glad I spent the extra money on all the features that this model has. Once you buy it, you'll soon forget the price and really appreciate the technology that this model has. You won't regret it.

This router was very easy to install and setup. Hardest part was having to call cable co to make connection - and that wasn't difficult. All my devices instantly recognized it and I simply had to log in on each one. Data transfer is fast, even with multiple devices working at the same time. Only problem was I could not connect my computer via Ethernet cable for some reason, but easily connected via wifi, and who needs the cable anyway. Gives me the freedom to connect anywhere around the house.

Easy setup and incredible speeds make equipment for cable provided internet one of the best on the market. It operates in multiple frequencies so my 5 and 2.4 equipment can connect and run at the highest speeds available at the same time. Setup with Comcast was quick (less than 10 minutes) and I've had zero problems. I highly recommend for the tech impaired individuals who want amazing speeds with little hassle.

This product works great! I would, and have already recommended this product to other people. I like that there is two different Wi-Fi outputs to keep it from getting bogged down. Not only is the product great, but Motorola's customer service is fantastic! They are very helpful and are easy to talk to if needed. Now, if only TWC could step their game up, everything would be perfect!

This is a nice modem works pretty well. I had the nighthawk which the speed and range were amazing, almost to the end of my neighborhood 5 houses away, but returned it for a modem / router so I could stop paying 10 a month to comcast for a unreliable modem. This is much better and will pay for itself quickly. Good deal.

I own my cable modem now. No more renting from the cable company. The docsis and the mimo were needed. The signal from this wireless router / cable modem is INSANE! 2600ish ft home and I get a strong signal EVEYWHERE. Easy to set up and a simple call to the cable company and it was connected to the internet. I highly recommend this product.

I have tried Netgear router for the past 10 years and other Motorola modem and routers. By far, Motorola SURFboard eXtreme modem and router has the best performance. In 2015, I have bought and returned 3 routers due to the lack of performance. This one, no issues what so ever 3 months later. This is an Excellent device if you live in an apartment or a small home. If you live in a house, you can still use this, but may need a second router or extender for longer range. If you are having issues, most likely either your device is old and can't take advantage of this new technology, or you need to check your device setting or SURFboard eXtreme router wireless setting. i was having some issues with my old iPhone and HP laptop, but the setting on my iPhone needed to by modified as well as some minor changes on the router setting. This is a very powerful and fast device and you will get high performance results on wireless devices connection!

This router has been very impressive. Good signal strength and fast speeds. We have a household with over 15 devices and this works really well keeping a signal. My only complaint is it takes for ever to boot and using the hard drive on the router takes a long time to do a time machine back up

I have been very pleased with this modem thus far. My internet speeds are fast and I haven't had any issues with lost or interrupted connections. Setup is very easy and this device is well recognized by all of the major internet providers. I highly recommend this product.

I recently switched Internet providers and they wanted $10 a month for a router/modem. My husband and I had already been talking about getting a new router since we previously had a very cheap Cisco unit. So we decided to purchase this unit/model based on the positive reviews we had read online. It's a 4-in-1 unit and it looks and works exactly like our internet providers; except it's white. (Unfortunately, it doesn't come in black). The unit itself was very simple and easy to set up; only 3 cables to connect. (I set it up myself and I'm not very tech savvy.) You may have to contact your ISP to activate the unit like I did. You'll have Internet right away, just not television until you call and give them your unit's serial number. We are very pleased with this unit and haven't had any problems thus far. In the long run this unit will be less expensive than paying $10 extra a month to rent one from our ISP; plus, with Best Buy's Low-Price-Guarantee we were able to save even more!!

Bought this for use with time Warner cable. It was preset with password which you can change. It offers two bands one at 2.5ghz the other at 5. Great speed and range for 2.5, but range not as good for 5. Works well for streaming and have about 10 devices connected and it works well!!

Replaced Comcast's modem due to constant dropping of signal. This did the trick and in a month and a half we have had no signal drops. A few years ago we had one of these with no issues. Solid performance, easy to set up, and stability all sold me again.

The modem just became available the day I went to pick up an older model. I was having issues getting Comcast to connect to my remote VPN their latest modem will not allow this connection so I returned theirs for this one. It worked immediately and is even faster then Comcasts modem. It was easy to connect and configure.

I am extremely pleased with this modem. It was easy to install and has not given me any problems. I used to have to periodically re-boot my old modem. This one has been installed for two months and I have not had to re-boot it at all.

Pretty user friendly but I hate that they make it impossible/uneasy to rename the router/modem and set your own password. So far (about 30 days) it's much more reliable and has a stronger signal than the equipment that Comcast dishes out and charges us for.

Easy to setup, no lag time or service interruptions, and FAST! Tried a lower tier, decent router / modem, but experienced unacceptable speed and constant screen freeze. You get what you pay for with this product. Only wish it in came in black. Other than that, totally satisfied.

Had DSL for years, new town home did not have DSL so went to cable provider for internet. I was set up and logged into my work VPN within 5 minutes of opening the box. Super easy to set up and a great signal all over the house and I can pick up a good signal a block away.

Easy set up. Covers the whole house including the basement. Doesn't slow down with heavy use. We stream a lot of movies and play Xbox at the same time and it doesn't ever lag.

This modem is actually faster than the one Comcast had provided me. I like the option of the wifi built in as I do not have to use a separate router anymore. Overall though I feel the product itself could be smaller.
