This game has had me hooked for days, the action is fun, the story is engaging and you really develop a connection with some of the characters. Some of my issues I do have are when wall climbing you get stuck in some places so it can get aggrivating. The grind, if you're playing on easy or normal the grind can seem pretty intense so you need to play on hard or nightmare or buy the permanent xp booster to make it less aggrivating.

This is truly one of the best if not the best AC games. I have played almost all of the them. You have two choices at the beginning of the game which guides the progress of the game for you or you have to explore in order to make progress. There is truly so much to share. This is a HUGE game and it has so many different aspects to explore and improve. The load times can be a little annoying sometimes but when you see the 4K graphics and the impressive world, you will understand why it can take some time to load. I purchased this on disc although my preference would have been digital. I believe there is a speed buffer that occurs when the system is having to read the data from the disc. I have over 50+ hours and it is still not boring. I am playing it on hard and there are some missions that are easy and there are others that are torturous and you will die. There is exploration of land and sea. Battles on land and sea. Bounty hunters trying to kill you. Murderous cults, bandits, and factions throughout the expansive world. Game of the Year in my opinion.

Following on from the excellent Origins comes an expanded world that builds and improves on what came before. A huge sandbox world that captures the feel and look of Ancient Greece with a great story, interesting side quests and fantastically enjoyable fight mechanics. A game that lives up to the hype.

A fine follow up to Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a game which takes place 400 years before the events of Assassin's Creed Origins, during the time of the Peloponnesian War in Greece in 431 BCE. The game plays just like Origins down to the bone, main difference is that you can now choose between a male or a female protagonist. The map feels significantly larger than Origins, though some parts of the map are essentially empty. The main gripe I have is the slew of micro-transactions present in the game (much more than were present in Origins.) But for 2018 this should come as expected. Still the game is fun, and I can see myself playing through this for the next month. I purchased both the XBOX and PS4 versions mainly since Ubisoft is giving away a fair amount in the game's Season Pass. I'm using the review I wrote for the XBOX version on this PS4 version.

    My New Addiction

Assassin's Creed is my favorite series, outside of Metal Gear. I've played every game in the series, including Origins. I fell in love with the original, and still adore the crusades theme to this day -- the gameplay is another story. Origins just didn't click with me, which is funny considering my favorite genre is RPG. Odyssey, however, clicked instantly. I love the theme and the time period. I love the gameplay and mechanics. I love the full-RPG feel. Of course, there is a ton of great content which is important when you're investing $60 in something like this. In fact, there's so much Odyssey has become my new daily addiction. I haven't touched another game since release and I can't wait until the new stuff is available. The first DLC is supposed to release in December.

This game is seriously taking too much of my time. I stay up way too late and wake up way too early to play this thing. I have always been a fan of Assassins Creed but stopped playing after Black Flag because they felt really repetitive. When I saw the previews for this it felt different so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. The story is pretty good and there are tons of places to go and things to do. I’m only level 10 and have put about 12 hours into this game so far and have heard it’s only harder and harder to level as the game continues which should give tons of playing time. Especially since each scene and mission wants you to keep going. I originally got this game to kill time until Fallout but so far it has exceeded my expectations.

It’s a great story if not the best one. The most biggest map full of content with upgraded gameplay systems and it’s beautiful graphics. I hadn’t owned a assassins creed game since AC3 and it’s a great game.

The Good: Beautiful vast open-world game. Great story and characters. I'm absolutely in love with my character Kassandra. The conquest battles are amazing and the sea battles are exciting. The mercenary system is like a lite version of the nemesis system from Shadow of War. The game would be absolutely perfect if it wasn't for one thing... The Bad: I have to warn you that I am very biased and I'll tell you why. I absolutely loathe microtransactions in single-player full-priced games. I even bought the Gold-Steal Book Edition expecting to get the best AC Odyssey experience Ubisoft had to offer.... I was wrong. Things like XP Boosts and Treasure/material maps are free in games like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Spider-man (PS4). In AC Odyssey these features are paid microtransactions. Even AC Orgins Gold Book Edition provided enough of the Helix currency to buy all the extra "paid features". I wouldn't mind so much if the beginning grind in Odyssey didn't feel so bloated and conflated. Although I love playing AC Odyssey, I'm hitting the breaks on future installments in the AC franchise as I don't like Ubisoft single-player monetization practices. If I wanted that stuff I would play mobile games.

This game is larger than last years Origins and yet improves on everything Origins got right! Stealth has taken a bit of a back seat but your choices truly count and can change the outcome of the ending. Season pass has so much content being delivered over the next few months 2 multiple episode story arcs and 2 assassins creed game remasters coming out next year...seriously the season pass is amazing and this game has little to no glitches! for a massive open world thats impressive!

The combat is really fast paced (maybe too much so to be realistic), plenty of world to explore, good story. Voice acting gets a little stupid at times, like when two important characters meet each other for one of the first times. Steelbook is beautiful, season pass will get me ACIII remastered soon apparently.

Odyssey had me hyped after playing the fantastic AC Origins, one of my favorite games from 2017. Unfortunately Odyssey stumbles in many places, including the level scaling system that forces the game to be a frustrating grind much of the time (some of this was alleviated in a recent patch), a story that isn't exactly good at hooking the player especially when compared to the characterization of Bayek and his son (and their story) from Origins, and a huge map which although is quite beautiful (the best looking in the series by far) feels empty and flat. The game also has an issue where you are constantly hunted by never ending bounty hunters and even civilians if you so much as accidentally damage someone's chicken on a farm. You even get bounties on your head for defending yourself against an attacker. Pros include the beautiful landscape, Spartan/Athenian lore and themes, and some interesting side quests as well as hunting down a certain cult. Overall Odyssey is a passable/good game but far from great.

Another great game from the Assasins creed franchise. Same controls and feelings as the previous games. Parkour and assasinations but this time it’s like a choose your own adventure game. You make your own path with decisions and choosing sides. That’s a pretty cool feature I hope stays in the future. The maps are huge and the quests are limitless. The skill trees lets you form your character as you see fit. Upgrading your ship and naval combat is also a very cool feature.

You get a lot for what you pay for here. My playthrough for this game on launch, prior to the release of any of the DLC, easily hit 100 hours, and it took quite a while for me start experiencing any burnout. It refines the combat from Origins, while having a huge map to explore by foot and by boat, and even some places to dive underwater in the ocean. I wouldn't call this the best AC game, but it's pretty up there if you ask me.

I've been sitting out on this series for a while because many of the past titles have been more of the same. But since Origins, the games have been getting better and Odyssey continues the new trend. This has been one of the most entertaining and time consuming in the series and I have enjoyed every moment. My favorite thing to to is Spartan kick the crud out of everyone. Channel your inner THIS IS SPARTA meme and kick everyone you see just for giggles. XD
