What Unity should've been

Most AC fans still remember the disaster that was last year's Unity launch. That game was infamous for bugs and glitches that were posted all over the internet. So I was understandably nervous about what Syndicate would be like. I waited for reviews to come out and decided I liked what I saw enough to give this game a chance.
Well the good news is that it is not the buggy, borderline unplayable mess that Unity was at launch. There are a few bugs here and there, but they are nowhere near as bad as in that previous game in the series.
As for the rest of the game, there have been a few new additions, but it still feels like the same old Assassin's Creed game everyone either loves or hates at this point. You can now switch back and forth between 2 main characters who both have their own personality and playstyle. And there are rope launchers in this game that provide a new way to traverse the city, which I thought was an interesting addition.
This is also the most modern AC game and it takes place in 1860's industrial London. Thus, there are finally drivable vehicles in the game, which take the form of horse drawn carriages. These give the game a more GTA feel at times, but they are still different enough to be their own thing.
I haven't finished playing this game to the end yet, but can honestly say that I like it. I know some people are getting tired of the Assassin's Creed franchise nowadays, but I'm not one of them. Being a fan of the series, my opinion may be a little biased. However, if you're into these kinds of games, there is really no reason not to get Syndicate.
In conclusion, Assassin's Creed Syndicate is what Unity should have been. It's a solid entry into the series that doesn't drastically change things, but attempts to add some interesting new ideas into the mix. 4 stars.

Solid, if Conventional, Assassin's Creed Game

This game is fine. If you've played an Assassin's Creed game before, you know what to expect. Solid open world mechanics and well realized environments. Good mix of stealth/action gameplay. Also the Ubisoft trademark of having to climb to high places to scout out the different territories on the map.
There are a few welcome gameplay improvements to this iteration. The follower mechanics are improved (you can recruit gang members to help you easily), a new grappling hook makes climbing much less tedious, and the ability to drive carriages helps with getting around.
The story was also fine. Nothing really stood out, but it serviced the game well. Side quests were good. The two protagonists were likeable, but from a gameplay perspective weren't different enough to justify having to manage two sets of leveling trees and inventory.
All in all 4/5 stars. A solid, if conventional, Assassin's Creed game. Its a fun way to pass the time, especially if you like the series.

With a new Assassin's Creed Origins coming out it took some time to reflect on past titles. One of which was syndicate, this was a pretty decent game story was fairly interesting but the gameplay was greatly improved especially with vertical movement going up and down a building. Also the addition of playing as two characters being brother and sister made for a fairly entertaining change of pace

I've always been a fan of the franchise, and this one is a major improvement over AC: Unity. Running around Victorian London is really cool because it feels authentic, and playing as both male and female protagonists, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, is a really nice change of pace. And the Jack the Ripper DLC is well worth the price as a good continuation of the story. Very few flaws.

After as disastrous Assassins Creed Unity launch, many were starting to realize it might be time to move on from the Assassins Creed franchise entirely. Thankfully, this game is relatively bug free so far, and has alot of new variations to the gameplay that are welcome changes. If you missed playing a solid Assassins Creed game the last couple years, this game might renew your faith in the series.

The framerate issues from AC Unity are (mostly) solved. The game does have some low FPS during highspeed carriage runs through London, but it's mostly playable.
Graphics have take a step back, but it still looks very nice.
The new main characters are very enjoyable, especially Evie. The story is Interesting and the grappling hook is a really nice addition to the parkour heavy game.

After a few misses Ubisoft did everything right with their newest edition to the Assassin's Creed Franchise. Set in Victorian London you follow twin assassin's through one of the most interesting time periods in history. After 35 hours of play time I can still say I thoroughly enjoyed this game and would highly recommend it to previous fans of the franchise.

It is a culmination of peaks and valleys with this game. It has eliminated the wasted opportunities from the past few consoled entries and gone back to what made the series a blast. From the new story to refined gameplay it has been a blast, my biggest complaint is that I do feel as if the series needs to come to a hault soon. But it's been a blast otherwise

DISCLAIMER: I have played every Assassins Creed and it is one of my favorites series.
With that in mind, AC: Unity was a complete disaster that everyone should receive a refund for.
Assassins Creed Syndicate remedies all maladies that Unity struck you with, and, as a stand-alone title, is easily one of the best games in the franchise and possibly the most complete game in the series.
While parkouring through London can still be frustrating due to minor control issues, the implementation of the grappling hook, horse carriages and overall city design make this one of the funnest settings to explore with activity on every corner. Tons of sidequests are available - and for the first time, they feel relevant to the city and story - something Unity and other AC games sorely lacked.
The characters - the Frye twins - balance each other gloriously and create a fun dynamic to explore no matter what your play-style is.
I recommend this game to any Assassins Creed fan, any adventure fan, anyone who loves them some Victorian England, and especially to those who we burned by the abysmal AC: Unity.

I bought this game after reading and watching many reviews. At first I was skeptical of the new combat system and setting, but after spending just a few hours playing the game I've learned to love both. This comes after Unity which I found to be very enjoyable. However, if you're looking for dense crowds and chaos in the streets, you may be disappointed as syndicate really focuses on the back alley gang fights and sophistication of victorian london, rather than the chaos of a rebellion. The story so far is well written and the Frye twins are brutal and humorous. Overall, this is a refreshingly new taste to the AC line but decidedly different. Five Stars for me!

Syndicate is a fun game, better than Unity. London is a good place for a romp! The glitches are everywhere and can be seen in nearly every Memory Sequence, if you can get past that then the game has fun aspects... It isn't nearly as good as Black Flag the story is a bit weak but free roaming is always a blast!

A best buy gamer costumer. My husband really enjoys the game. The graphics are great. And the story line is interesting. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the controls can be frustrating at times.

After a big opening stumble with Unity the Assassin's Creed series comes back with a great environment, a less ridiculous story, a likable duo as main characters, and far less bloat. Now that Ubisoft has officially announced there is no AC game this year, get your fix and play this great game.

Syndicate is what Unity should have been. Taking place in London with twin assassins Jacob and Evie is fascinating. The banter between them alone is worth it. Plenty of historical figures involved as well. Syndicate brings back everything you love about the assassins creed franchise.

After not having purchased an Assassin's Creed game in the past few years, I couldn't pass up on this one. I'm so happy with the decision I made to buy this one. The story is fantastic and the gameplay has improved increasingly since I last bought a game in the series.

I enjoyed this game and the previous one I was not too thrilled with black flag is felt this one went back to what the original started off as based in a city that is grand and epic definitely recommend it... few glitches but not many to three you off the game play. ..
