I told the employee who helped me pick this laptop that I wanted to watch dvd's. I was frustrated to find out when I tried to watch one it would not play. Windows had decided to save money and not pay for the license on my version of windows. I felt this is something that I should have been told about knowing that playing dvds was one of my primary requirements. Otherwise the laptop has worked fine.

I give this laptop 2 thumbs up. Excellent battery life. Excellent screen size. Excellent speed. Very light. I would def recommend this laptop to anybody.

This is my second ASUS lap top computer and as a senior I find this computer easy and fun to operate. I would recommend this computer to my friends.

I am really enjoying the Asus laptop! It is lightning fast, plenty of disk space and the sound quality is totally awesome! Best laptop I have used!

Needed something to assist me with my home business and also have some fun with games. This definitely fits that bill and has worked great for me so far. I have had a few times where it gets slow already and it really does not like some sites. It locks up every time I go to ebay, (maybe a blessing!).

So far so good. Like the laptop, nice layout. only thing I wished it had on it was a touch screen, thought this one had it but its a good laptop

The associate referred me to this laptop, it compares to my old Dell, with the exception of the mouse- a little touchy and takes a bit to get used to! The power outlet is on the right corner so the cord needs to be behind the screen to stay out of the way. Otherwise, keyboard is great, including the 9 key number pad! Very satisfied for the money spent!

Good laptop for working in office, battery should last a bit more.

Asus is one of the highest rated companies in terms of keeping retail installed bloatware to a minimum. That's about the only "minimum" I can assign to this one. It boots up lightning fast and is very responsive. All I need to do now is figure out how to scroll with the touch pad.

My son needed a laptop powerful enough to run elgato hd60 for his YouTube channel, but not so powerful that it needed to be an expensive "gaming" laptop. I researched forever and this was the best option for his situation, and for a reasonable price. It works great for his game capturing, and has a quick response time for other apps. It's quick to start-up also. However, once we got the new windows10 we ran into some lagging with elgato, but that isn't the laptop's fault. I would buy this again and recommend.

Going from an HP that was way outdated I am happy with my purchase. The one thing that bugs me about it is that the keys don't light up. That's about it. I play various online games (ESO, LoL, etc.) and nothing seems to go wrong with my computer. I wouldn't suggest trying to run super high-quality or recent games, but I'm happy with what it can do.

Computer has good speed. Still trying to get used to Windows 8.

I bought this for my teenager son and he love it. It plays all the games that he has and plus it will be great for us school work.

For the money you can't bet it. Solid laptop for the money.

computer has performed well so far, but a few of the features that I had used on my old computer are not the same. Unless I want to change the registry to keep num locks on it doesn't remain on by default, and the arrow keys are condensed together which for me is not the best layout. But besides these issues it's a good value for the cost.
