Great laptop for the price. The only negative I see is, you have to keep it charged up because the battery dos not hold the charge very long.

Could it be called the okay-est laptop on the market? If not on the entire market, well, it still is pretty good regardless. Performance: The processor was a surprise to me, being suited so well to the tasks that a notebook of this sort should encounter. Fast web browsing, hd video playing, etc. At times I had to remind myself it's just a dual-core. Asthetic quality: I'm a car guy, so its about as nice as the higher end of a basic automotive brand. Its got the gadgets, but it doesn't show ultra high luxury in its touch. However, it still is a looker of a laptop. The ASUS logo looks fantastic being centered on the back. ASUS has been proving itself to be a performance oriented company, so when people see it, they'll think twice about questioning its power. However, don't just challenge anybody to a benchmark. It's a sports-car body with a trusty family sedan's engine. Display: At 1366x768, this is a mid class display by many comparisons, but I have no complaints. The adequate power works well with the resolution. Onboard Programs: Being an amateur photographer, I needed something to edit photos well on the go, so I picked this laptop up before going to a car show. Once it was un-boxed and set up, I discovered it had onboard photo editing software. In fact, it was a stage above the basic software on my desktop. It was an all around win to get this product in my case. Gaming: This is a terrible choice for those who want 60fps gaming on ULTRA. No, this isn't a specifically designed gaming laptop. It'll run older games on it well, but It's not future proofed, and in some cases it isn't best for gaming today either. Some casual games on STEAM may run well, but if it's all you do on this, then you wasted your money. Get a laptop for work, and get a desktop for play. Longevity: Its too new to say for certain it'll be as good as it is now a year from now. What I can say is my Asus desktop has had no major issues over the past 2 and a half years I've owned it. If it speaks for the brand, then this laptop should do its job well. In conclusion: Yes, this is one of the okay-est laptops you can get. Is it good? Yes. Is it bad? That question is answered with what you do with it.

    Designed for everyday multitasking

To put simply, this laptop is awesome. Due to its i5 that is rocking over 2 GHz, it can load up programs properly fast. For everyday use, such as watching videos, writing, browsing the web, it is simply wonderful. There really aren’t many cons I can think of right now, so we’ll leave that for last. -(PRO) First things first, like I said before, it has a great response time. The i5 5200u featured in this laptop is a dual-core, now that may not sound like a lot, but once again, for everyday productivity it does wonderful. -(PRO) Right, on to the second one, which would be its 720p webcam. This thing is beyond great. It has a sensor that works astonishing in difficult light conditions. -(PRO) I could go on for days complementing this computer but that would make this review long and boring, so I’ll just finish it off with the trackpad. The beautiful thing about this is the size. It should measure around 4-5 inches. Not only is it comfortably wide, it is also quite responsive. Haven’t had any problems with this. -(PRO) Windows 10 was put into the PC’s HDD, you’d be surprised how fast this thing boots up. It only takes 13-15 seconds to take you to the password screen. On to the CONS! -(CON) I will have to start this list with the keyboard. Although it is responsive and the keys are decently big, the height of the keyboard feels sketchy. When you are writing you may notice that when you go from one key to the other you may press other keys by accident. I blame this on the height of the keys. -(CON) One of the dislikes I had was that even though it comes with a optical drive, it doesn’t come with any program to play DVD. I would recommend downloading VLC from windows store. On the other hand it comes with CyberLink. This program is used to edit Videos, and Photos. (It is not a solution, but a substitution)

I have used a MacBook Pro for the past six years and was getting fed up with struggling with the non-user friendly Office package for Apple products. I work frequently with Word, OneNote, Excel, and PowerPoint--all of which are SOOO much simpler to use on Microsoft Office!!! After enough frustration on my Mac, I finally was moved to make a change. I decided to purchase this Asus laptop because it was affordable, a good size for practical use (15"), and had the extra numerical keyboard that is so handy, especially when working with Microsoft Excel. It's also incredibly light and portable. As far as my experiences using it go, I've had the laptop for just under two months, and so far it is running great. The screen resolution doesn't look as sharp as my old MacBook, and the materials that the body of the laptop is made out of are plastic and feel cheaper, but otherwise I couldn't be happier. Unless I just haven't figured out how to use it yet, my impression is that this laptop doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more expensive models (i.e. backlit keyboard) but it performs just fine. The image and sound quality are a bit "grainier" than I was used to on my Mac, but for $1500 cheaper I can certainly live with that. I haven't tried the webcam, so I'm not sure how well that works. The touchpad is responsive and sensitive enough, which is important to me because I never use a mouse. My overall review is that this is a great laptop for simple daily use, such as using Microsoft Office or surfing the web. I can't speak on any of the more advanced functions of the laptop, and I'm not a gamer so I have no idea how it would perform in that aspect...but for general use this is a great deal! Had it felt a little sturdier and had slightly better screen and sound quality, this would have merited a full five stars!

I have owned the Flex 11 for about 2 weeks and here is my results so far: Pros: Great price at 199 on sale. HD 1080 P touch screen Many Many features for the price. Windows 10 came standard Keyboard docking to screen works smoothly Bluetooth works great has 5 and 2.4 wireless WiFi 8-9 hrs of battery usage Great computer for surfing and Emails and simple tasks. Led light for Caps Track-pad has gestures features Keyboard is good Great extended warranty price Cons: The computer is slow to respond after giving a command 5 gig WiFi signal sometimes disconnects, but I can always get it back after connecting to a 2.4 WiFi. seems to loose WiFi connection when the computer is loading something, and does not happen all the time. Battery charging is pretty slow Not sure about Best Buy Insignia Software/Firmware updates, have not found any, or links for support? I only wish that the processor was a faster.

Good bang for the buck. I needed it as a low use extra computer networked to a more powerful laptop. It fits my needs. As other reviews have stated, the keyboard feels a little flimsy, but I typically use an external keyboard, so it doesn't bother me much. Graphics are pretty fuzzy compared to a couple of higher end computers I own, but that is to be expected. Only real complaint were the updates needed out of the box. If you have a slow or metered internet connection, it will take a while (and possibly data $$) to get current. I will probably buy another one soon, so overall does it's job.

This is my first time using Windows 10. I love the ease of use. The laptop is quick and has plenty of storage for all the pictures I take. It is light weight. The only thing I would change is the size, but I highly recommend it.

The sales person at the store talked us into this laptop over another similarly priced one... and I couldn't be happier! The computer has great speed, great connection... and even games well, which is somewhat surprising for a laptop in this price range. We haven't had any issues AT ALL with it! The only SLIGHT disappointment was finding out that for the powerful laptop this is, the WiFi card is NOT dual-band ready, so won't connect to our 5Ghz network at home. HOWEVER... that's an easy fix/swap out... AND it really actually still runs and streams really well on the 2.5Ghz band!

Up to last year, I was a Dell guy. Then I bought my first Asus computer - a budget i3 computer that could (and was) upgraded to 12 gigs of ram and caused me to pause my Dell ways. Fast forward to today - my business laptop (a Dell) needed to be replaced and I was going to pull the trigger on getting another Asus like the first one - then I saw this one - an i5 model which was well priced on sale. Knowing the difference that ram can make, I also bought 8 gigs of ram to upgrade this new computer at the time of purchase. The ram was on sale. A double win! I'm no fan of Windows 10 - but I do know the cure for the awful interface - classic shell - which returned the computer to looking like windows 7 and buried the horrific mess of tiles on Windows 10 to another item on the list - making the tiles invisible but accessible. Good news - every program I ran on my old Dell which started as an XP machine and later upgraded to Windows 8 and 8.1. After spending about half a day with Win 10 upgrades and reloading all of my software, I must say this computer boots quickly and runs well for this price point. My budget Asus from last year has run flawlessly so my decision to get this computer was predicated on that performance and quality. I was not let down with this i5 Asus. Spend the $40-50 to upgrade the ram ditching the 2 gb slab you can change out and put in a single 8 gb one. 4 gb is soldered to the motherboard so you can't change it out. I've used HP's and Toshibas and you can't get this much computer for the same price as this Asus. And Lenovo has put spyware on their systems so avoid them too. Dells are still good but oddly you can't get as nice a system from them for Asus money - especially when Asus is on sale. I highly recommend this system - especially at sale prices!

It runs fast and is thin for a full size laptop with a dvd drive. The only knock for this computer is it seems to have some bloatware that was causing Windows 10 to display security warnings. After I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch, it went away.

Saw this item on a flash sale and wanted another laptop for the bedroom. Yes, I'm lazy and tired of toting the living room laptop back and forth. Anyway, the Asus had the same i5 processor and memory as a Toshiba I had recently purchased on Amazon but for about 75 bucks less. Basic computing works great, but the keyboard has very sharp edges, and it's far too easy for the cursor to lose its place when typing. Then again, for 350 bucks and for what I was looking for, the Asus is a heck of bargain. Would recommend for people looking for a laptop strictly for web surfing, email and YouTubing.

After reading reviews from multiple web sites, I purchased this computer and am very satisfied. Though I wouldn't call this a "power pc", for the money the specs are impressive and it's perfect for general computing. The huge display and full size keyboard with numeric keypad is a plus as are the full compliment of inputs and outputs. The built in DVD writer (missing from many laptops these days) is also an added bonus. Windows 10 works great and I found there's almost no learning curve transitioning from XP. If you need a good general purpose computer, this is a great choice.

This computer has nice specs for the price. Also, you can upgrade the RAM memory, that is something you cannot do on most computers on this price range. The only flaw I found is that there is no light on the caps and num lock button.
