I bought this specific model for a few reasons. My desktop finally died and I needed a replacement with portability. This laptop came with an I5 processor which is a great upgrade from what I had without paying extra fro the I7. It also had 2 absolute musts for me, a built in DVD and VGA port. I have a ton of music CDs I still need to transfer to something electronic, and I wanted to use my old external monitor. Most laptops do not have these built in. I didn't want to pay extra for an external DVD writer, nor did I want to pay for an adaptor to use my monitor. The only downside is it came with Win 8, I was told it would have 8.1. This took me about 7 hours to update all my 8 files and then upgrade to the 8.1 files.

It has a nice performance, for obvious reasons it is a laptop that will perform tasks such as surfing the web, watching movies, school projects and stuff, if you're looking for a job laptop to use 'heavier' programs, at least get an i5. I recommend this one for teenagers. And finally it is super light! It's nice, you get what you pay for.

Got this for my brother who needed a cheaper but still capable laptop. This was one was perfect. It was thin, sleek, and able to handle most things thrown at it due to the i5 and 4gb RAM

Con: It has Windows 8 Pro: Works good after a ton of updates. With 4GB RAM and no dedicated video card it's not a super strong gaming machine, but it will do the basics just fine.

This computer was recommended to me from friends and associates when I told then what I needed in a computer. To do word processing, internet browsing and general use. I have had it for about a month and love it. I didn't in the beginning because I had a hard time getting use to the keyboard. It has the numberpad on it and so the keyboard is off center which was very frustrating at first. Now I'm use to it. I had them install Windows 8.1 on it because it came with 8 which I heard horror stories about. Well, I'm not use to 8.1 yet, but am getting there. I also had a bit of a problem setting up my printer - the geek squad assisted me and had it setup in german and said because my computer was new and my printer was not, that was the only language it would let it be setup in. He couldn't change it. Well, I knew that wasn't right so I called again a few days later and got someone that knew what they were doing and got my printer setup in English and has been great ever since. None of the problems I had were with the computer itself.

I've really enjoyed this laptop. It is quick to boot and load applications despite the lack of a fast Hard drive the is great, and if you want to plug it into a 1080p display the Core i5 and hd graphics 4400 will handle it without breaking a sweat. The integrated graphics are even good enough to do some lightweight gaming, it's able to run new games at low-med settings getting 30-40 fps. Video editing and graphic design are alright, but it would be a good idea to upgrade to 8 gigs of ram. The keyboard gives good tactile feedback, but the and the touch-pad works well enough, though I use a mouse. This laptop also has very good ventilation without ever sounding too intrusive. It comes with DVD software preinstalled, which isn't standard in most windows 8 machines. The webcam and mic are pretty standard, they're good for communication, but not much else. My one complaint is that the power supply isn't very space effective when working with outlets. The transformer isn't too terribly large, but the prongs that plug into the wall stick out of the block.

Great computer at a good price. I've had for nearly a year now with no issues. Battery life is pretty good and it's a great little setup for basic needs.

It has more length than most so doesn't fit into just any bag I have but that is because I did want the numeric keypad. the keyboard is full sized and is layed out like a standard desktop keyboard so alot easier for the less techy folks to transition to this. I did not like that I had to purchase office 365 (which I do not recommend) and pay for it again and again every year. If they do not change this it will hurt them probably permanently. i also wished it wasn't windows 8.1 but since I can now convert to windows 10 I hope for that to solve my issues there.

This computer does all that it says with speed. Since this company makes the major parts for most popular laptops why not buy from the same company? Price was right, needed stuff was included, and it just works!!

The operating system takes a little getting used to and the mouse could use a little revision. Other than that the laptop works perfectly.

This laptop does not have a touch screen. Which is something we were not interested in since it adds to the price and we do not see the value so far. Also we wanted an I5 laptop: cared more about performance that about light weight (although this is not a heavy laptop either). The laptop has performed flawlessly. The only small issue is it could not connect to a WiFi LAN that other devices (Android/iOS) could. This might be a Windows 8 issue (and not a HW issue). Hard to beat this laptop for its price and I5 processor. Memory is sufficient. When I bought it I remember making sure that it was expandable. So, if you want a powerful laptop, do not care about touch screen or weight, this one is for your. It's being 6 months since we bought it. So, things might have changed in the market place though.

I really think this computer is a nice basic computer that provides a lot of flexibility. I am a self employed musician and have used it for everything from internet to documents to creating ads to video editing to playing my music. I've been interviewed via skype too. The only thing that still is tricky for me is Windows 8. The app thing still confuses me at times and many of the built in apps don't work well. So I dont use those. I treat it like a laptop not a tablet.

This computer is full of features and I was able to get it at a very reasonable price on a daily deal. This is a great computer with an i5 processor and a very good option if you are looking for a computer with this processor.

Love this laptop, laptop is lightweight and fast, perfect for my business. Hated the windows 8-kept jumping all over the place to the point I couldn't use-since I removed it the computer is fantastic!!

Worked really well for my needs. Browsing, streaming video and listening to music. Keyboard layout was quite nice. Boot time was about 5 seconds. Only negative is that when playing an old game like WC3 it sometimes lagged during intense fighting sequences. As would youtube vids higher than 360. Def should not do that considering laptops and comps of the same ilk from ten years ago ran smooth. For the price $399 good buy.

Speedy for work applications, quick start up. Keyboard and computer feels solid. Screen is good. Lacking a full set of ram for intense games.

Beautiful resolution and lightweight for its size. My only problem is that the keys are rather stiff and hard to press, but that may get better with time. Also, the touchpad is rather inconveniently placed; a brush of my hand as I type can make it click something I didn't want to click. Other than these problems, it's a great laptop.

This laptop is great. The battery life is nice. I'm not a huge fan of windows 8 but overall this laptop was perfect for the price.

Love long battery life, but internet runs a little slow when not charging. Touchpad mouse is still a little awkward to operate, otherwise laptop is fine. Not too happy with new Windows 8.1.
