I've had this laptop for a year now and it runs like a dream. Granted I did upgrade it with an m.2 card and turned the old hard drive into storage space, but doing that improved this laptop x1000. Anyone leaving bad reviews are just people that know very little about computers. The specs are there you just have to get a solid state drive or m.2 card if you want it to run at its full potential

It’s very urgent laptop purchage, I made at San jose, CA 95135 but the pick up location at Bejtonville, AR. The best buy checked and honfirmed the availability at pock up location. When my wife went to pick up, no item was there. They cancelled my order without contacting me. I went to San Jose, CA store again. After prolonged discussions with customer care, manager came and assured the express shipping to Bentonville, AR from the nearest warehouse within 2 days and given date and written on my receipt as 29th march 2019. Then I wanted fir 1 day to receive a sorry message that the. Best Buy may deliver or cancel due to sone reasons. I checked my order and observed a price change more than doubke on online store bestbuy.com.
I went again to San Jose, CA store to inquire about the message. They replied to ignore the message and reconfirmed with a UPS tracking number. But the UPS delivered on 3 rd April 2019.
The best disappointment was this: when I approached San Jose, CA store after knowing the item was not available at Pickup location, I offered to check the same item at San Jose, CA store. The item was available and immediately I offered to give that sp that I would like to do USPS overnight delivery. They rechecked and confirmed the item availability at pickup location. This was pn 26th March and WE ENDED UP RECEIVING ON 3rd April. What an hectic painful repeated visits and tax charge of more $150 and waste of time. Loss of hourly pay to my wife at Bentonville.

This is really versatile. I love the touch screen, the option of flipping over to a tablet so easily. I've had 17inch in the past but I really like this one. The 15.6 screen is pergect.

This laptop is amazing. It's powerful, fast, has tons of storage and is easy to use. Its an excellent investment. I do graphic design and consistently have 25-40 tabs open on google chrome, along with a graphic design program, and a couple other programs all at once. Despite this, this thing just keeps going, doesnt lag, doesnt slow down.
The fingerprint login makes my life easy, it works 75% of the time. Touch screen is awesome, I rarely flip it around and use the tablet mode. Fun feature, I just have little use for it. The camera is great, I do video chat alot and its basically flawless.
On the downside... it feels a bit heavy; the number pad is frustratingly small at times and the buttons are arranged differently, so I sometimes find myself naturally tapping a button from muscle memory, only to discover its no longer there.
Theres no CTRL button on the right of the keyboard, no HOME or END buttons either, so if you use those a lot, it will be a mild annoyance. The power cord coming out of the right side just annoys me. It seems like the left would have been more natural and fitting. Theres no disc drive, so dont plan to add software from a CD or burn a CD unless you buy an external drive.
Overall? Its an awesome laptop. Just be sure to get the $150-$200 geeksquad insurance. It is worth it. I used it at least 3-4 times on the previous version of this laptop, and expect to use it on this one eventually as well.

Dear Russ,
I do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused you if you started experiencing system crash with a blue screen of death, and it will no longer boot up normally in WINDOWS. A possible system corruption may have just occurred. To resolve the issue, please try to do a couple of power cycle. If this was performed to no avail, please do a PC Reset. If PC Reset didn't work, please do a factory restore using a Recovery Media. If you were not able to create one, you can use the Media Creation tool to create one. The tool and the ISO image for WINDOWS is available and can be downloaded at the Microsoft website. You can use a memory card or an external USB device to create the recovery image. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to help.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Best buy for Best Budget Laptop!! Great upgrade!

Now I may sound a bit biased seeing as how the last laptop I purchased was much, much, LESS gb of RAM (2 gb) so any improvement would feel vast, but I kid you not this is definitely a worthy buy! In comparison to some of the other comments I'll also say my backlit keyboard works just fine and it's quite impressive in the dark! Boot time is pretty fast and the fingerprint feature also makes it a breeze. I am of a certain generation and although having the now vestigial optical drive removed did hurt in theory, once I began to use this machine I barely missed it. The browser they want you to use is nice and all but I do still prefer Chrome so I just downloaded that as an option. Had no issues pairing with my printer which was just a nice benefit , as I have had that issue in the past with other pairings. So this thing is sleek in appearance but quite formidable in performance for an everyday laptop. I'd never compare this nor recommend this for those who are serious gamers. Serious gamers need serious laptops! And there ain't nothing wrong with that. Hardware is King in that realm. But this doesn't leave the royal court. Still a very, very good laptop PC. I'd give it to a college student as a going away present, any student really over primary age, someone who's plain cheap and doesn't upgrade models very often but needs and wants something substantial(ME, ME, ME, ME lol). I still plan on getting a super desktop to have alongside this in the near future, but for light multimedia streaming(Netflix binge sessions, digital movies etc), home office use, or just writing those personal memoirs- I'd say this is an excellent purchase! No betting required.

Nice computer for the price replacement for a previous Asus I had. While this one doubled my hard drive space and memory the graphics card is a bit weak! If you're looking for a game machine this is not the one. I purchase this because it's lighter weight than my previous laptop and will work well when traveling. Drawback is that battery seems to drain quickly in sleep mode so unless using the laptop a lot during the day it should be shut down rather than using sleep mode.

Flexible laptop and tablet combined. Excellent storage. Fast speed. Backlit keyboard is great. Only wish there were 1 or 2 more usb ports and that they were on one side of the laptop. Comes with 2 usb ports but there is one on each side. 2 USB ports needed to run a blu-ray player which is not included.

Very fast start up, loads pretty fast. It’s a thin, light laptop I really don’t use the touch screen so I can’t really comment on it. Only thing I hate about this computer there’s only two USB ports, speakers are not the best so I advise you not to play loudly

I use this laptop for college and wow is it impressive. It feels nice to touch the keyboard and the backlight keys are a nice feature. The battery only lasts about 8 hours, but I can multi-task with this laptop with ease. Great for gaming, I keep it plugged in though while I game. Very light to hold as well.

I purchased this laptop mainly for photography purchases, with using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I liked the option to have it be a touchscreen for more precise edits, which has worked great. Though I honestly don't use the touch screen much. The laptop works really well overall. I also use it for work, which is great. The main complaint I have (which is enough to take a star away) is that the battery life is HORRIBLE. I cannot use this laptop without keeping it plugged in the entire time because the battery life doesn't last more than 2 hours. I knew when purchasing this laptop that the battery life was not the best, but I was certainly not expecting it to be as bad as it is.

intel core 7 with 16 GB Memory and a whopping 2TB Hard drive makes this portable 2-1 a great buy! Would have been 5 stars if it had additional USB ports (only comes with 2) and a DVD / optical drive (comes with none)

The computer is everything it pretends to be: touch-screen, nice screen, great speed, beautiful. But the foldable screen (you can turn it completely and it becomes a tablet with a keyboard on the back) and the ultra-slim design makes it hard to find a comfortable angle for the screen. You have to use it in a 90 degreee angle; therefore, you get either a too low screen or a too high keyboard. Poor ergonomics.

I've been using this laptop as personal PC for a while. I upgraded the SSD after a month since I bought it. The original harddrive pulled thr whole system down to last decade running the Win10. After upgrading the SSD, which is added to the spare slot, this laptop finally becomes a piece of good stuff.
Overall, cool feel of the metal frame, nice touch of the keyboard and high quality of touch screen.
Lastly, opening the back case isn't an easy thing to install the SSD.

This computer is a replacement for my Asus Zenbook which after 15 months the integrated graphics card died and Asus would not stand behind saying the did not know it was an issue (except it is all over the internet as a known issue). After a fight they affter to fix for $500 (vs $700) with a 60 day warranty!! So this is the replacement I got and I won't be able to take on business trips as it is way too heavy to deal with. Other than that it does have a TON of space to store, two USB ports and HDMI which the other one didn't but is more than twice the weight. Nice screen and flips over to be a tablet with the Microsoft Ink. OK maybe I will try it out on my next trip and see how it does.

I got this to replace old laptop I mostly use when traveling. The specs say it has a Backlit Keyboard but I checked all settings and F keys and if it does I can't figure out how to turn it on, that is important to me as I use it when at hotels with lighting not so good in the evening.
Spec says this....
Backlit keyboard
Allows you to enjoy comfortable and accurate typing, even in dim lighting.
Also spec says it has Ethernet which I prefer since I copy large video files back and forth from laptop to my PC. But there is no Ethernet port. If I have to buy a USB external Ethernet that's ok.
But I really want backlit keyboard.
I got this 2 month ago but barely used it. Now I see another model at Best Buy that has backlit keyboard but too late to exchange this. Will ASUS let me exchange online for a model with Backlit keyboard! I have barely used this. Otherwise it seems nice and pretty slick. I don't really care about the Touch screen but may end up using it. The only other thing is it's a bit slippery when you carry it so you need to be careful.

Dear Jeffer03,
Indeed, it is a nice and slick laptop. I certainly understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused you if you are experiencing issue with the keyboard back light and not Ethernet port available. In order to enable or increase the keyboard backlight, the hotkeys, " Fn + F4" needs to be pressed repeatedly. Presssing "Fn + F3" decreases and disable back light. The laptop was not advertised having an Ethernet port, a USB to Ethernet adapter needs to be utilized. Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

I purchased this Asus 2 in 1 when it was a deal for best buy’s deal of the day. It is a very stylish two in one notebook. The only bottleneck that I had with this system was the hard drive but I fixed that with a solid state drive. A heads up for those of you looking to do something similar it is a little challenging to open the bottom of the system. You will not find screws below the feet of the system. Start trying to open it with a guitar pick or a Spudger where the bottom is closer to the palm rest area is. I found this the easiest way to open it and slowly work your way around the edges. This system will take a 2 1/2 inch or M2 format drive. Now that I have the solid-state drive in this it runs flawlessly. Highly recommend!! Thanks
