Hooked it up my desktop to 1080p and it isn't scaling properly. It's either filling more than the screen or not filling the screen up. And it's showing little bars on some texts. Switched it to 720p and the monitor's working fine. The speakers are a plus though.

Not a bad monitor, would recommend it to people who wants a monitor for their PC

The monitor I purchased, a VX 228 H, is a lemon. It stopped working after 7 months. Meanwhile, I've been trying, unsuccessfully thus far, to contact Asus (it's still under warranty). DO NOT purchase this model/product!

I got several of these to replace some antique Dell LCD monitors in the office. They were easy to setup, good picture, and the internal speakers work fine for normal office stuff. We are only using VGA connections but its nice to know they are HDMI compatible for future use. note: The description of What's Included says HDMI cable, DVI cable, but it does not come with either one. The cable is actually a DVI to HDMI cable. The VGA, audio, and power cables are also included.

menu went from english to another language (arabic , i think) and would not toggle back to english , i was unable to set the sound bar or any other feature up

When I was searching for a monitor online, this one caught my eye. It was also on sale then for $139. Perfect product for the price. I had no idea that there were built in speakers too. I use it for xbox currently and WoW. 1ms frame rate is why I bought this. Don't pass this item up if you want decent quality for a good price.

I use the monitor side by side with a more expensive Dell and the difference isn't noticeable... except the Asus is a fraction of the weight of my Dell. I often switch between PC and gaming and I have no complaints, it's perfect.

As a gamer the 1ms speed is what i was looking for most (its supposed to be great for fps games and racing, anything that requires top level reaction time according to my light on the spot research so i could be wrong.) it has some features that i personally wouldn't really use but! for some gamers they are nice. it has a menu option called gamepur(if memory serves, will correct when i get a chance assuming this allows me) and you can put a timer on screen which ranges from presets like 30 min, it also has a cross hair, which i tested in killing floor and well... dead on every time shooting from the hip. the timers are useless for most in game functions seeing as you have to navigate to the menu system and as far as i could tell there are no pause buttons.. it would be good if you are cooking something, or could pause the game set the timer and play, could also be good if you only have like 30 min to play so you can see the timer right there on screen. that 1ms response time is nice, i didn't think i would notice a dif, but i feel like i am getting something better out out of it however i came from an old dell box monitor too a 1080p lol so there is that. now we get to the eh part of things.... so the monitor has some issues using hdmi, simple fix if you are willing to navigate you gpu setting(you can have the gpu scale it properly to fit(gpu=graphics card or graphical processing unit) it does have an overscale option but it didn't give me the option till i already scaled the setting(or maybe i was blind >.<) ether way i don't think it would scale it enough to fit perfectly. vga does work perfect except i couldn't go to 1920 X 1080 but i think that is due to limitations of vga vs the hdmi or the hdmi dvi adapter that comes with. especially for gaming, the build in speakers are just useless... now for the part that bugs me, however its hard to say if its due to the games i am playing on or just the monitor, but i am seeing banding in shadows. in kf(one of the few atmospherically dark games i had installed right now to test) i dint really see it. in alien isolation i definitely saw it.. which i don't remember seeing on my 1280 X 1024 monitor however i could be wrong and it could be because i turned off the film grain effect. i haven't really noticed to much of a banding issue overall just in those dark areas. but again this could be the games i am playing, and in killing floor i had to really hunt for it, oh and insurgency seemed pretty ok as well. now for the worries, the monitor feels light.. almost too light.. its hard to say if its poor quality production light or just frigen light. regardless if you take care of it, it should be good. overall the monitor is amazing for the price its light and effective, it may take some tweaking to get desired effect from the monitor but overall i am very happy and impressed with it, i can get over the banding in the dark for having a cheap 1ms 1080P monitor and i have no problem fiddling around with stuff to get it working.

For the price I don't think you can beat this monitor. I really like how easy it is to switch between settings. You can go from a bright gaming setting down to a dimmed setting with the click of a button.

Before I got this monitor my response time was slow and I would get killed a lot. But when I got this monitor and hooked it up, I was getting 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, place in the lobby every time

This monitor has great picture quality, set up as dual monitor for my PC and has added that extra feature I was looking for. I highly recommend and own several of them

Does everything I need. Sound out through screen so I can just use a HDMI cable nice.

Very nice picture picked this up for a 2nd screen. May get another to replace the other monitor I have.
