Summary ------- Overall a great entry level Chromebook for my kids to work on school. I love the fact that it is sub 200 and light and sufficiently bright for my kids to do the school work and occasionally watch youtube videos Pros ---- 1. Light weight, just 3lbs 2. Low price, under 200 3. Excellent battery life, just lasts right under 8 hours 4. charges through USB 5. Cons ----- 1. Keyboard is not backlit 2. no MicroSD card slot Design & usage ------ Overall the design is good, its light weight and sufficiently bright. It has 64gb EMMC and runs at 1.10 Ghz and for a chromebook, its good enough. The 4gb ram is good enough for some schoolwork and some youtube videos for kids. The laptop looks well built and can stand a few falls. The 14” 1920 X 1080p FHD is well lit and bright and the colors are vibrant. The 1x Type C port is also used for charging. There is also 1x Type A port. The provided Mic and headphones is a good add-on for attaching a wired headphones. The keypad and trackpad look decent, it does not have a number pad but the tactile feel is good, The keyboard is not backlit. Overall For the price, i think this is a good value and great for school.

Garbage. Returned it immediately. Completely crashed during setup and even with a warranty, Best Buy wouldn't fix it.

It's impossible to get hold of someone in customer service! I ordered 5 of these and received only 3 of them.

I didn't receive the order it's been almost 2 weeks

So I figured I would give a Chromebook Laptop a shot. What could go wrong? Not much to be honest. I like the size, ergonomics and weight of the unit. I'm not a keyboard zen master so I could care less about the sound and feel of the keys. One minor gripe about this keyboard is that I have to press the power button a few times and pray to see if the unit actually turns on or not. Not a fan of that at all. To be honest, that is the only gripe I have about this laptop. Wait, that's a lie. A backlit keyboard would have been very nice to have but I guess you get what you pay for. I appreciate the privacy cover on the webcam. The performance of the cam is decent and can be used in a pinch. No real need to go out and buy a new camera unless you just have to be seen in 4K😉 For having a Celeron CPU it's pretty snappy. I kinda see why folks get these. Unless you are playing AAA games and need the fastest money can buy this little guy is a breath of fresh air. You can throw it a regular sized backpack and have room for some peripherals and lunch. Neat laptop. Don't know why folks don't give these more of a chance. Further more, if this got stolen or lost I wouldn't freak out. Just log into my Google account and do a remote wipe and call it a day. This is a laptop I would definitely recommend.

No matter the OS platform you can count ASUS to provide a well built laptop or desktop and they definitely didn’t disappoint here. I’m going to be upfront I only have one complaint about and it’s the keyboard is not backlit. I can’t imagine it’s costs much to manufacture a backlit keyboard or heck even add a light on the top screen bezel pointing down like the old IBMs use to. The Chromebook came tightly and well packed. Unboxing took seconds and everything was easy and self explanatory. I charged the Chromebook up first as it was completely dead and the manual recommended 3 hours of charge first. Once I clicked the power button I connected to my WiFi network signed into my pre existing Google account, and did a system up after all within 3-5 minutes. Everything is simple and quick which is why I love ChromeOS The body of the Chromebook is will built and sturdy. Nothing feels cheap or out of place. The screen hinges feel good and the keyboard feels like something I could use for hours without complaints (except for it not being lit). The screen is crisp, clean and comfortable to the eyes. Again, no complaints here and I think anyone will be pleasantly surprised. I love how ChromeOS is refined and easy to use. I have been using the OS prior to its release to the public and it has come a long way. Everything on this ASUS in terms of the OS and opening web based browsers was snappy. I love the Google eco system and you have to be in order to use a Chromebook effectively. Important note: While the hard drive and ram are low in size I believe they are adequate with the ChromeOS system. I highly recommend anyone looking to purchase or upgrade their Chromebook to look toward this model. If you need to have a backlit keyboard I would look for a higher ASUS model; however, this is a well built machine and works well with Google’s eco system.

It’s already a really affordable laptop but the mechanics once you enter is very easy and able to manage. I personally love chromebooks. The settings are great and easy to navigate through. The way the screen looks is also great, the quality is great. Overall great affordable laptop.

I like to try different Chromebook out from time to time because I’m very hopeful that one day Google will nail the Chromebook concept. While this is a vast improvement over my last unit I used, it still needs quite a bit of polish to the operating system to make it totally compatible to use as a daily driver. I still prefer a proper file explorer, and a much less convoluted way to share folders and files. That being said, I really do like the look and build of this laptop, and it really does look like a higher tier notebook. The build quality is really good. I am unable to overly flex the keyboard, while pushing the keys with moderate pressure and the display is quite nice. Again, this is surprising because of the product tier. Samsung makes three more higher tiered Chromebooks in this model. What really sets this apart is the inclusion of AI specifically Gemini and it works very well most of the time. I still find myself going back to ChatGPT for my real work, but Gemini is definitely fun to play with right now. If you’re looking for a surprisingly useful Chromebook this one is closer to the mark.

It is always glitching I can't even watch a movie or switch in-between screens without it blinking black and white.
