Purchased this a few weeks ago to replace my 6 year old Dell laptop. Works great, sound is good, screen is really nice and the battery life is great. The touch screen is convenient when browsing and tablet mode works well too.
My only complaint is the location of the power button. I guess it'll take getting used to, but if I lift my computer or carry it smewhere, I tend to hold the sides and I frequently accidentally hit the power button and the computer goes to sleep. It's really just an inconvenience, I wish the power button was located somewhere else. But so far that's my only complaint.

I love this laptop. It is the perfect size and weight to take to college. The laptop is very cool looking and the shiny hinges are great. The backlit keyboard is life changing for someone who works mostly at night. The only thing negative is the position of the power button, which is located on the left side of the laptop close to the front so it is very easy to accidentally put the laptop to sleep. This is a great deal, especially with the college student discount.

I been looking around for a good laptop for the last couple months with everything being to pricey to bulky or just not a good battery life, and after looking I had settled on getting a zenbook I had been looking at that was close to all the competition of the ultra books for a couple hundred less then the day before I went to order it I came across this for about 80 something cheaper on sale at the time, and it did everything the Zen book did plus had back lit keyboard, at the cost of being a little thicker and 0.2 pounds heavier I got the same battery life, more powerful i5 processor, (that works well for very light gaming maybe ps3 quality games on mediumish) the back lit keyboard and still maintaining the metal build, I also like the sandblasted aluminum over the spun aluminum of the zenbook, overall a great laptop for day to day task.

I bought this computer for college, and it hasn't let me down. It's a great Laptop. It's very fast and has lots of stories. The only thing I would change is the keyboard doesn't lock when you put it in tablet mode. Other than that, it's a great computer that I would recommend.

Everything You Will Ever Need

I'm a programmer majoring in computer science, and I HATE slow computers, which is why I decided to buy a new one. This laptop first caught my eye because of its elegance and design. The specs are great also - except for the 1 TB Hard Drive. Being 2016, I expected A LOT more out of the performance when I started using it - bootup time was in the minute range and programs were slow to open. After going back to best buy the next day to buy a SanDisk Ultra II 480GB SSD, I could not be any happier. Right at bootup I was left speechless. If you do decide to buy this, definitely consider upgrading to a SSD. Speakers aren't the loudest, but music is very clear and has a surround-sound feel to it. Great for work and play.

I bought this laptop for $550 thanks to the discount for college students. I have owned it for more than a month now and I have had no problems with it. The touchscreen is convenient and it does not lag. Also, having 1TB of memory is pretty nice. I love it. Especially for the price, this is an excellent laptop.

I tried this laptop after trying couple of others which were greater in specifications but they succumbed to big size softwares. This one really impressed me with the performance. Overall a very nice looking, compact, high performing and value for money laptop.

Nice but battery went belly up after 3.5 weeks

Well, very nice machine right out of the box. Nice screen, keyboard, plenty of capacity for the medium use it gets as a home computer. Seemed like a quality replacement for the older MacBook it replaced.
I recently purchased an Asus UX5901 for work and have been impressed with it. So we went with this comany and a simpler model for the home device.
After just 3.5 weeks it's now permanently tethered to the wall due to the complete shut-down of the battery. The monitored level continuously remains at 0%, the moment it's unplugged it shuts down. BestBuy has the vaunted 15-day return policy which is nice if we didn't know it's what we wanted. However we did our research and tried out a number of units in the stores and were happy to choose this one, at the time. 15-days doesn't give much recourse for equipment malfunction so now I need to go through ASUS's warranty.
Not very pleased with this situation at all.
I will update this after I get a response from ASUS but for now there is no way I can recommend this product.

I'm extremely hard on computers - I end up with a new one every 2 to 3 years, so I entered my search looking for a reasonably priced 13.3 or 14 inch laptop, with 512 GB or greater hard drive (wasn't picky re: SSD or not) and reasonable performance, that wouldn't cook me if sat on my lap.
This model came highly recommended by the salesman, and offered a great price point, and had great metal hinges (where I typically break my other model is the cheap plastic hinges). I tried researching the model, but there wasn't a lot out there since this seems to be a new model. I bought this model before it even hit the sales floor (what'd I have to loose with the great 14 day return policy?).
Unfortunately, there seems to be an incompatibility with the video driver. When surfing the web (especially with the pre-packaged Avast antivirus) there are large black squares across the screen. It appears like large sections of dead pixels; however, they move as you browse to a different page, so they are not. We checked for a video driver update; however, the computer is already on the latest.
This model also got very hot when sitting on my lap.
To be fair, I exchanged this computer for a different Lenovo (much more expensive) model and did not give the geek squad or Asus the opportunity to correct the problem or replace the computer. Hopefully I got a lemon or they correct the issue soon.

Purchased this laptop for my daughter who is just starting her first college semester. Rather than having a TV taking up space in her small dorm, she also uses the laptop by folding it into the tablet form so she can watch Netflix.

Piece of crap. Purchased 2 of the same. HD went bad on one of them. Had to return it to manufacturer for HD replacement. The other one, Operating System froze up and can not be salvaged (even though I have disc to reinstall Windows).
Neither was ever used heavily and always had VIRUS & SPAM PROTECTIONS INSTALLED prior to use!

Bought this for my son to go to college, Like the computer, but after 30 days the end of the power adapter that goes into the computer snapped off. What started with me just trying to buy one is now going on a on-month project where I had to send it to them, the lost it, they moved it around their repair facility and now are sending it back the slowest shipment possible. Customer support people are friendly, but have no ability to contact the repair facility. And this was just a busted power adapter.

Did my research on purchasing a new laptop and Asus came up as award winning on many fronts and so I took the plunge. Was really jazzed about the specs of this 2 in 1 laptop. Thought we'd be together for many years. Two weeks after purchase, laptop freezes, did a hard boot, wouldn't turn back on. Called their great Customer Service who after not really being able to troubleshoot the issue had me take it back to Best Buy. Exchanged it for another assuming it was just a fluke. Another new laptop and got it all set up again and literally a week later I get the BSOD, it shuts down and only turns on to the BIOS screen. Called tech support got the bad news and had to return laptop #2 tonight. Truly disappointed and had to exchange for another brand. Didn't want to have to say goodbye, but had to move on.
