I am happy about my purchase as I upgraded from Asus TuF gaming plus to this motherboard. I paired it with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 3090 FE, G.Skill 64gb at 15 CAS 3600mhz, EVGA 850 and a Corsair h110 AIO 240. This is a beast with all the features that support my overclocking needs and more. Great product and would recommend.

Purchased this motherboard to replace my MSI motherboard for my new Ryzen build and it has not disappointed. Excellent features for overclocking like high quality VRMs, clear cmos, safe boot, board mounted power and reset buttons, trouble shooting leds, Q code display and even a small hole in the cpu socket for inserting a temp probe. Easy to use and very high quality!

I bought this motherboard to go along with my Ryzen 9 5950X, 32GB of DDR4-3600 RAM, and a Samsung 980 PRO Gen4 m.2 ssd.
This thing is an absolute dream. Between the flashback feature, diagnostic display, and great power delivery - this thing was a breeze to setup.
No fiddling with DDR4 timings, just select your DOCP Overclock and go!
Also much of the features are "Set up and forget" in that they don't require additional software to be used. These are things like fan curves, overclocking, PBO boosts, and automatically switching between PBO and a static overclock based on power load.
Since I use Linux, this was crucial. Most configuration software tends to be Windows only.

This motherboard just screams quality. It was relatively easy to get setup in my rig with a ryzen 9 5900x and RX 6800xt. I did have to update the bios to get rid of an annoying D3 error code that indicated software conflicts.
Another issue that Asus boards are known for was a CPU fan error that prevents the computer from booting. if you use an AIO cooler for your CPU. Simply disabling fan speed monitoring in the bios got rid of that issue.
Overall. These issues didnt impact my gaming experience too much and I highly recommend this product. If you want the feature set in the X570. Cheaper boards will suit your needs just fine if you have no plans for overclocking.

Great X570 Board

Great board if you are looking at the X570 platform. Have always had great experiences with ASUS boards, and this one was no exception. Runs flawlessly with my 3900x and even though there isn't a lot of overclocking headroom on these CPUs the capability is as you would expect on an enthusiast's board like the Crosshair. No installation hiccups at all except for AURA, and well at the end of the day, that is just for fun.
Dont forget the PCI 4.0 SSD, so worth it, and if you are paying for an X570 you gotta have it! I got the Corsair and it works as advertised.
I would have probably gone for the wi-fi version if BB stocked it, but love the easy support I get from BB if there ever is a problem, so I went with this version of the Crosshair. And who wants to support Amazon anyway? :-)
Worst thing about this board is the ASUS Aura software, which is buggy at best, but finally got everything to work. Plan out your RGB accordingly if that is important to you - remember you only have 2 - 5v rgb headers, get a hub if you are doing a lot of lighting. And life is easier if you get compatible Aura products.
In short, If you are going Ryzen 3 and want an X570 board with all the bells and whistles this is a great board to consider.

This board is a great board, it's built solid, I bought one at launch and bought a second one to build a PC for my daughters to game with me. Unfortunately I went and picked it up from the store and it wasn't new like I bought it was clearly used and missing parts. I will be returning and waiting for an actual new board to become available.

Wanted to get the Dark Hero but knew it would be a while before it was back in stock anywhere (since it was so popular). Had a little bit of a rough start but then got a couple of bios updates and straightened out the ram slots (forgot to use slots A2 B2 first!). With these two issues out of the way my 5800x and Trident Neo 3600mhz are working great!
The only thing missing from the Dark Hero is the dynamic overclocking but honestly with PBO tweaks I am happy with CPU performance!
The only negative is ASUS software, but overall very happy. Also Corsair cooler doesn't play with ASUS Aura and iCUE conflicts with Armoury Crate.
I was between a B550 or X570, the PCI-e4.0 NVRAM pushed me this way and glad I did since I have a PCIe4 NVME drive.

Great board, uefi settings are a breeze and a great refresh from previous versions. Updating the bios is simple from both methods (within uefi or OS). Only complaint is the packaging, the start button and both upper right rbg headers were bent inwards from the box it sits in. They all work but I had to be VERY gentle bending them back into place.

I started out with the b450 tomahawk and had no issues till I upgraded to this board. I figured out that most of my problems where my own fault and a little because the manufacturer ships the board with it overclocked out the box needless to say i wrinkled out all my issues and have a great board to go with my 3800x i would definitely recommend this board for enthusiast and the options are hands down unbeatable for the price. My only issue now is that I wish best buy had the wifi version in stock that would have been everything i needed and then some. Thanks Asus and Best Buy keep up the good work

Purchased this expecting to get a 5900x in it sooner than I’d be able to on my Gigabyte Aorus x470 due to bios rollout for x470 platform. If I had known then that the cpu would be that hard to find and this motherboard was such a nothing burger I wouldn’t have bothered with it. Very lackluster motherboard even though I purposely bought the one without wifi. This is ASUS’s premium offering but the construction quality and weight feel like that of a budget board from asrock or msi. There are some small but compounding design flaws that add up to be a pain.
For example, on all my prior Gigabyte boards the m.2 was secured with its own screw and the shield was attached on top afterwards. None of which affected the ability to mount the board to the tray. On the ASUS if you test the system before install, as is good practice, you’ll find you need to take the m.2 drive completely back out of the system to install the board properly as the corner of the heatsink is covering a standoff. The drive needs to be held in place with one hand while you line up the adhesive-backed heatsink with another hand and then use your.. third hand to put the screw in. then it’s really fun installing it in the case with their mess of tiny non-captured screws and flimsy decorative plates piled on top of each other.
Chipset fan sits smack dab under the GPU so if you are using a air cooled card it’s suffocating itself to death by the hottest component in your case. Smart!
“Adequate” VRM cooling
Memory QVL testing is lacking with ASUS so it was a trial by error populating all 4 dimm slots with kits I had laying around.
RGB software is a mess, but that’s an industry standard!
The price.. oof, big OOF!
My recommendation is wait for prices to come back in line and get the X570 Aorus Master. Same price, twice the board. 3 m.2 slots with all the goods this board is lacking.

Dear 14characters,
I'm sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the design and build quality of this board. This is absolutely not the kind of experience that we want any of our customers to have. Great motherboard with awesome power delievery for overclocking. Has 12v RGB headers and 5v ARGB headers which is awesome. Has a digital code readout for easy diagnostic. Also has power and reset buttons built onto the board for open air setups. If you are looking to upgrade this is an excellent option.

Installed easily, rgb's are not very bright but with the added software you can control the color scheme of your Ram if it has rgb lighting. I've had a few issues with the computer not restarting or starting up with the power button on and off but I'm not 100% sure it's the motherboard or if it's from older drivers still on the computer from my old Mobo.

If you’re going for a x570 chipset and don’t wanna pay and arm and a leg for it this is your best bet, great versatility with its AM4 socket and a great rear IO, also you’re future proofing for the next AMD generation of processors in case you want to upgrade later on.
