Customers love the ROG Gaming Desktop's powerful graphics card and its overall performance for gaming. However, many have expressed concerns regarding its cooling system and the included RAM, citing issues with heat and insufficient capacity. The power supply has also drawn criticism for being underpowered for the system's components. While storage space is generally well-received, some users found the case design to be suboptimal.

Hard to recommend this PC under any circumstances other than desperation. If you badly need a new gaming PC, it'll probably do for a year or two. But if you actually have the option to put together something better, or just wait and get a better computer when prices come down, maybe do that.
Cooling, as most of the reviews mention, is abysmal. I was hoping that most of the reviewers were just shoving their computer in an enclosed space like an entertainment center cubbyhole or something (protip, don't do that with anything electronic, especially not multi-hundred watt stuff). No, I've got this computer on a counter, completely open to the air on all 4 sides. And it runs HOT with the stock settings, exactly like the other reviewers have mentioned.
The GPU is indeed a 3070, but it has a proprietary (CHEAP) cooler, with only a single fan. Yes, a 3070 with a single fan. It hits 87 degrees C while gaming, and I'm pretty sure it's throttling itself.
The CPU only has the stock Intel cooler, and regularly hits 100 degrees C while just idle. Definitely throttling itself. I personally recommend just using ASUS Armoury Crate to set the CPU fan to 100% constantly. That gets the temp to about 40-60 while idle. Absolutely horrible solution, and LOUD, but it'll hopefully hold up for a year or two until silicon prices drop.
The motherboard is indeed an ASUS "G10CE", meaning it's a proprietary board, used only for this series of prebuilts. Incredibly stripped down BIOS, no option to run the RAM at anything but stock clocks. Any replacement RAM you buy will forever be clocked at 2133 mhz (DDR4 standard), with no way to OC. So don't bother buying fancy RAM unless you're also replacing the mobo. It DID have the option to turn on resizable BAR, though. That works fine.
At least there's room on the mobo for 4 SATA connectors, but there's only a single mounting point, which the drive it ships with is using. At least their air tunnel thing works, since I just have a 2nd HDD shoved in there, braced in place by cramming the PSU wires above and below it. Both HDDs run at 36-38 C, so the air tunnel thing actually does work! The 75 degree C air inside the upper portion of the case doesn't heat up the HDDs, even with my atrocious mounting solution.
Finally the power supply. It's fine. If you actually read nVidia's website, they recommend 650W minimum if you use a 3070 in combination with an Intel i9 10900k. The 10900k was a 250 watt beast. The 11700F in this computer has a max draw of only 125 watts maximum, meaning you "need" 525 watts. 500 is close enough.
So overall, every component is basically just good enough for a prebuilt that you're going to treat like a console, and replace in a year or two. I'm not sure if it's even really worth starting a new build with just the CPU, GPU, and storage, since you'd be throwing away literally every single other component from this thing, including the proprietary GPU cooler. It might be better to just wait for prices to come down, if that's an option. I only bought this thing because my old computer died and really needed to be replaced.

Dear VeryScartDragon,
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are concern about the excessive heat being generated on the PC.
All ASUS products uses materials that are in compliance with industry's quality standard and each one undergoes intensive quality control testing and inspections, the excessive heat under heavy load is normal. Any PC with the same hardware configuration, regardless of the manufacturer, will generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.
If you need more information or further assistance with the warranty for the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

Excellent PC for a entry level gaming system!
While you can of course build a superior system yourself if capable, difficulty in getting certain components these days is not an issue by getting a prebuilt such as this. Runs very well at high frame rates for my daughter in every game she plays. She can max out the graphics in any game she has and get well over 100fps even in the more demanding titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, which looks stunning on this hardware. When the PC was first going through its configuration and setup it was very loud initially as the fans ramped up to max, but once setup was done, she said she has not even heard this thing running at all and it’s very quiet under her gaming load.
I am an enthusiast/builder, and my only complaint with me experience is that the very limited intake on this case could lend to hotter thermals than necessary, so if your house is hot your experience with noise levels may vary from ours here (ac at 74 in our house). Simple solutions could involve placing it on a lower shelf closer to the ground (NOT on carpet!)
Additionally, we did choose to go with the included side vented panel for better thermals instead of the included glass panel (it come ms with both). That could very well be one of the main reasons it has been running so cool and quiet for her.
I would definitely recommend this to someone wanting to play great games at a decent price in todays market.

Good for graphics card and processor. Motherboard cannot be overclocked. Only supports 16 gig ram sticks for some reason it won’t run my Corsair vengeance at 3200 so I feel as if I wasted money on it. My fault for not researching any of this before purchasing. Poor cooling will def have to replace cooler on cpu.

At this price point does what it needs. The fan is loud, the GPU slightly underperforms from the decreased power supply. 1 RAM stick is annoying, running 83°c makes me a little nervous. But it runs, runs safely, and didnt break the bank to have a solid 2k 120fps pc. If you're looking to play a graphics heavy game, probably look elsewhere. But for comp shooters, this works great

Very excellent pc, It ran rainbow 6 siege max graphics 144fps smoothly, same with apex legends. Ran multiple auto farms on minecraft and still had little to no lag and good fps. I also use it for schoolwork, and it has no issue running multiple programs at once. The only thing I didn’t like was the low ram, but that was easy to upgrade.

As others have said... insufficient power supply for what's inside, fan is noisy as crap and there's no room inside the case to replace it with a suitable cooling system. Also... in my particular case, the NVIDIA video card crashes the machine when using two monitors. After trying everything possible short of switching out the nvidia card, I'm done. The PC goes back to best buy today.
I get parts are in short supply, but if you can't put together a good system, why bother... or at least price it cheaper ($1649.99 for this unit). And to solve these issues, I'd need to purchase bigger case, a stronger power supply, a better cooling system, and in my case a different video card. Not happening.
Would I recommend this item??? OH H$LL NO... lol

Short story, this thing has great parts but asus cheaper out on a lot.
After a couple days of using this beast, it runs great. BUT it gets hot way too quick. Valorant was hitting 90 on both my processor and and graphics card was almost 100 and a lot of games were very similar temps.
ASUS cheapest out on the cooling hard, I have no idea how asus thinks they can cool all of this with 2 little dinky fans and a very poorly air flow case.
I plan on hitting the pc and putting it into a better case with a liquid cooler and thankfully the part warranty stands as long as I don’t break the parts during the transition or modding.
Also just to mention it, the one stick of 16 gb ram I immediately swapped out for a 2x8 ram
Overall, great parts poor design
If you want this pc for the parts go for
If you want the pc for the pc and won’t touch it, I would not recommend this pc unless you’re willing to pay for a new cooler

Bought this product around March 5th of 2022 and so far its been really good. I'm no PC expert, so when my friend who knows more than me came and help me set up turbo for my PC which helped a lot. Now I play games on 1080P and the most heavy game I play is probably R6, Valorant, MHR, and I guess Minecraft with realistic shaders?
It does heat up a bit and have to go in 80-90% for fans, which is why you want to avoid the glass panel since it will only heat things up faster and stronger. If anything, I might buy a new case that has better ventilation and fans that doesn't sound like my old PS4 jet engine. For games like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk.... I would not recommend it unless you look what other reviews recommend upgrading to. If you have current gen (PS5 or Xbox Series X) then I recommend using those for those heavy demanding games.
I know this review won't really help, but for someone who is new to PC community and isn't demanding on games, I think it works fine :D

The Cpu and Gpu are the primary reasons why I made this purchase. The case is cheap, the fans are cheap, the ram is also cheap. First thing I did was swap out all components and hardware into a NZXT h510 case. Bought a Cooler master for the CPU and added 32 GB of ram and now runs like its supposed to. So for about 200 dollars more you can make it a great PC

Horrible computer. Only good thing about this computer is that is comes with a 3070. It sounds like. Jet engine running while gaming. It runs super hot. CPU got up to 90c just downloading an app. The “glass” side panel is a piece of plexiglass. Case has no airflow. The side panel will have to be modified to fit a cool master radiator on the cpu. The motherboard is as cheap as they come. My vram is 3600 and only registered as 2300. No xmp settings in bios. Returned computer and got something different.

I've had this computer for almost a year now and it can be a decent computer after spending an additional $300+ on it and countles hours of tuning that should have been done before it was sold. First off the cooling is horible, fan curves are NOT adjustable and set to run very hot. I replaced the CPU cooler with a much larger one, and under volted the GPU and still had to upgrade the case fans (only comes with one exhast, no intake) to get it close to a decent IDLE temp. After forcing new fan curves it can be a nice computer but be warned none of the standard ways of doing this by program or bios work for this motherboard. Full disclosure I am a very light gamer maybe 3 hours a week... its powerful but loud, sounded like a jet engine before a serious under volt to the point that in 2 months my GPU fan was already going out! Its main problem is air flow, very bad design, its only intake is a tiny slot under the front panel. The ram is a cheap single stick, and the SSD is actually the cheapest WD possible at less than $30. Disipointed in ASUS they used to make good stuff but if this is how they are going to do things I will be switching to someone else! Still wish I would have returned it.

I will start by saying I have an Asus gaming laptop that operates flawlessly. This machine, however, is a pile of hot garbage. Don't know if it's an aberration but this junk locks up every 5-20 minutes, forcing a hard restart. Tried re-installing windows ( a 3+ hour process) and saving user files. Updating the graphics drivers and every few minutes it would lock up to a black screen. Then tried re-installing windows with a clean install (learned my lesson and just let it run while I slept). Same problem, locks up, sometimes on start sometimes after 20 or so minutes. Tried installing more ram, from 16gb to 32gb of pc3200 ram, nope, random locks ups and a black screen. Today this machine is sitting on my table next to my perfectly functioning laptop dead as a rock. Now I'm in chat with an endless stream of online best buy reps who can't tell me if it can be fixed or not. I wouldn't say avoid Asus at all but this one machine has caused me an endless stream of infuriating problems. So use caution? Don't know.
