Customers are saying
Customers love the ROG Gaming Desktop's powerful graphics card and its overall performance for gaming. However, many have expressed concerns regarding its cooling system and the included RAM, citing issues with heat and insufficient capacity. The power supply has also drawn criticism for being underpowered for the system's components. While storage space is generally well-received, some users found the case design to be suboptimal.

locks up constantly
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start by saying I have an Asus gaming laptop that operates flawlessly. This machine, however, is a pile of hot garbage. Don't know if it's an aberration but this junk locks up every 5-20 minutes, forcing a hard restart. Tried re-installing windows ( a 3+ hour process) and saving user files. Updating the graphics drivers and every few minutes it would lock up to a black screen. Then tried re-installing windows with a clean install (learned my lesson and just let it run while I slept). Same problem, locks up, sometimes on start sometimes after 20 or so minutes. Tried installing more ram, from 16gb to 32gb of pc3200 ram, nope, random locks ups and a black screen. Today this machine is sitting on my table next to my perfectly functioning laptop dead as a rock. Now I'm in chat with an endless stream of online best buy reps who can't tell me if it can be fixed or not. I wouldn't say avoid Asus at all but this one machine has caused me an endless stream of infuriating problems. So use caution? Don't know.

Its fine
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's ugly. REALLY ugly. Its loud. The case sucks. But its fine. Youre not buying this because you want something that looks good, youre buying it because you want something that works and that you can eventually make it look better if you want to. Do not use the plastic side panel so you can see inside. Theres nothing to see. Its all ugly. Use the included metal side panel with the holes so it actually has airflow. Buy your own ram, put another nvme inside, stick it under your desk, and forget about it. Maybe blow a fan on the side with the holes if you want. It's incredibly basic, but thats what youre paying for. Its fine.

Get ONLY on these terms. Otherwise stay away!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The case will make this thing overheat like crazy. So if you get it, invest on doing a case swap. Seriously. I’d also swap the PSU for something a little more powerful, change the ram (it comes with one stick of 16gb ram? What?!??), and put an actual cooler on the CPU. Otherwise, this PC will fry itself slowly while in use. The single exhaust fan will not do it justice. Refunded it today and got a better computer altogether, didn’t bother swapping everything out. Paid a little extra for better specs but it’s hard to come by nowadays. Good luck!

ASUS tower
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this is constructed to be a gaming computer, I don't use it for gaming. I use it for normal documents, photographs, record keeping, etc. While at this point it is overkill for my use, in a few years it will be the norm and therefore, I will not need to replace it. I expect to use this computer for the next 10+ years before it becomes obsolete. The computer which I built and am replacing is 14 years old. For my purposes, this is a very good machine and I do not have any issues with it.

||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GPU has one small fan and then you have 2 small fans built in the pc for this pc to actually have a chance to be good you have to buy a new case and buy a whole new cooling system and the motherboard is not that gear too don’t fall for the crazy specs on this pc you can build a better and a cheaper one

Great Machine with some minor shortfalls
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with this ASUS. Video card is amazingly fast and clear. Some minor issues I have are the same as everyone else. The single case fan is too small (92mm) and very noisy when it winds up to speed. I have not been able to find a 92mm fan at this point but will continue to look. You also are not going to install a front intake fan with this case without cutting a hole. Second issue is the single RAM stick. ASUS cheaper out on this one. Two 8gig sticks would have given buyers the dual band capability. I will end up buying another 16g stick soon to upgrade this system. Ability to upgrade this system is VERY limited due to the small case. There is a second M.2 slot for another drive if you desire. No DVI video connectors but you can purchase an apter if you have an older monitor. Only two USB ports in the front of the case. I could swap all the guts to another case but if I wanted to build a computer I would have done that from the start. Ok, those are all of my issues with this machine. They are nothing major and so far I am extremely happy with the machine. If you are looking for a super fast machine with incredible graphics, go to Best Buy and purchase this machine today.

Perfect for music production
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this pc for music production and absolutely love it. It only comes with 1 stick of 16G RAM, but motherboard has 4 slots for RAM so I changed that out for two 16G 3200 hz Corsair vengence pro sticks, to up it to 32G. And the Corsair go perfect with the lighting scheme too. It has an extra slot for more M.2 ssd pcle memory. So you can really load this bad boy up. The air flow in not great with the stock side panel. But it comes with a glass side panel that leaves about a quater open inch space around the entire panel which fixes that issue. That being said, the only issue I have is the fan is loud. But since I use it for music production. I usually have headphones on or the speakers cranking, so I dont even notice it. If that does bother you. There are reasonably priced fans that you can replace that stock fan with, that wont hurt your pockets. Bottom line: This is a great computer for music production, and I highly recommend it. And from everything I've read, gamers love it too.

meh
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC broke after about 1 year after I purchased it. I also purchased it "used-excellent" on bestbuy so the warranty was already expired pretty much. The graphics card just died out of no where. Only got a bit from it. Tried contacting ASUS but since the warranty expired, they wanted like $100 for me to ship it in and then another X amount to get it repaired if it's repairable.

Fans are garbage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs games good. Fairly new to pc gaming. The fans are trash straight up. Im ordering a new cooling system which will be around 200$. So be prepared to drop 200$ more on a cooling system.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast ma chine. Great storage. Case is visually appealing, but terrible for air flow. I ended up removing all the internals and transferring them to a new case. Great gaming PC otherwise!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the amount of money we paid for this is too loud. The fan runs constantly. Ended having to buy a new cooling system for it.

Posted .Dear MemeTX806,
I'm sorry to hear that the fan is loud and you had to buy a new cooling system. What you've experienced was not intentional and this is a random case. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.
