So far so good! I would prefer a strix scar 18 though but best buy doesn't have it available right now. It's worth the price and I love the new design from ROG this year.

I have to say I was excited to get this laptop. It has great specs and the screen looks good. At least according to what i read online but after I received it, i was disappointed because the build quality is bad. It is all made out of plastic for a laptop that is over $3000 i was expecting something else. I know it is 18” laptop amd its big and heavy but its not great. Also the RGB lights started flickering after a few hours and the fan was working really hard and I suspected it was caused by overheating which was also disappointing. I ended up returning it and purchased HP Omen which has aluminum chassis and better build quality

Typically, the RGB flickering may occur while updates are being installed and applied in the System Registry. ASUS provides warranty coverage for the product. Regarding your concern about the fan noise. It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Ensure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. This laptop worked okay for a little while. Then we got random restarts in the middle of normal tasks. Rebooting for no reason glitching black screens and overheating and screen tearing. The device was repaired through BEST BUY SERVICE CENTER and still came back with the same issues. Geeksquad is unable to help and they refuse store credits and just keep sending it back with the issues. It's obviously defective and now I got a $3,300 paperweight. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS DEVICE.

Had to return this twice for the same issues horrible popping/crackling audio to the point i couldn't hear anything updated all drivers and looked for any solution just no fix available brought my first one back had to have another shipped in from out of state got it in and had the exact same issue again tryed all the fixes I could think of but ultimately Ihad to swap it out for a different brand all together. Very disappointed i actually really liked the way this one looked, loved the bigger size and the graphics and features.

Laptop overheats and will shutdown when running any demanding graphics app. After googling issue, others have run into faulty ASUS manufacturing issues before relating to poor application of liquid metal on their CPU and GPU dies. ASUS is now claiming CID and wants me to pay for a mobo replacement.
