this is a terrible laptop, I believe the CPU is terrible because I am experiencing micro lags no matter what I do, during games, during browsing, even with start bar. Do not buy this product I am warning you. There is a big problem. I couldn't return it because I am in Navy A school and I did everything to prevent this micro lags such as clean windows install, software updates, I added 32G extra ram, added 2 tb nvme and still it is driving me crazy. I should ve gone for other brand of CPU.

The G16's powerful Intel I7-13620H processor, combined with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, provides a great balance between gaming and productivity tasks. It offers smooth gameplay and powerful rendering capabilities in nearly any modern game or demanding software. Add the 16" vibrant screen and 165hz refresh rate for a fantastic combination. It has very wide viewing angles making it suitable for work or play. Motion blur is almost non-existent with this panel and the thin bezels make for a pleasant experience while viewing for hours. Running games from Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Armored Core IV, Ashes of the Singularity, Starfield, and Genshin Impact have all run at high or ultra settings with a high FPS. The inclusion of a Windows Hello compatible webcam is a huge plus and makes for easy facial recognition access to your machine. The cooling system and design of the laptop make for keeping temps cool and within acceptable ranges. The highest recorded CPU temp was 85 degrees during a Unigine benchmark test. Under full load, the trackpad and most of the keyboard stays cool to the touch with the only exception being the center, top area of the keyboard and area surrounding the power button. My only gripe with this system is with the method of heat exhaustion, the chiseled design leaves the rear grill showering your panel with heat. Will this have negative effects over time? I'm afraid only time will tell. ISSUES/QUIRKS The Asus bundled software is typically fine. With this machine, not so much. I never could get the RGB lighting to do much at all. It's overly complex for what it needs to do and had me losing interest very quickly. The presets work normally but they are stale and non-appealing. Asus bundles 3 pieces of software with this machine, 1 for warranty and support, another for RGB lighting and a third for managing profiles on the machine. This feels unnecessary and several other vendors reduce this to 2 or less. Upon first boot, this wasn't very stable. After poking around and watching it fail I realized the drivers were the issue. Starting it from scratch and installing known drivers then letting Windows update handle any updates that were left brought it back. Overall, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is a powerful contender in the gaming bracket. Suitable for both gamers and creative individuals looking for a portable option. The G16 offers a striking yet polished appearance with raw computational power ready to be set free. This is worth 4-stars.

Don't buy this. I bought this at 1100 on sale, and I still returned it. Screen is horrible. Great ventilation to keep things cool, but this laptop was stuttery out of the box. To me, this is not mid range price to performance. Gray Zone Warfare only got 90 fps with this 4070 to put in perspective. Used double the wattage in every scenario than my lesser AMD 78735HS/7700s laptop.

For the past week, I've been putting the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 through its paces, and it's been a fantastic experience for the most part. This machine is a powerhouse wrapped in a sleek, surprisingly portable chassis. Let's dive into the details. Powerhouse Performance As a competitive gamer, smooth frame rates are crucial. The Zephyrus G16 absolutely delivered. Overwatch 2 ran on max settings at over 160 fps, making clutch shots more consistent and achievable. Valorant and other fast-paced shooters were equally buttery smooth. Even Elden Ring, notorious for being a graphical behemoth, ran surprisingly well on this machine. The RTX 4070 graphics card handled everything I threw at it, and the Intel Core i7 13620H processor kept things chugging along without a hitch. Upgrading the RAM or storage isn't something I did myself, but the fact that it's an option is a plus for futureproofing. Surprisingly Portable for a Gaming Laptop Weighing in at just under 4.5 lbs, the Zephyrus G16 surprised me with its portability. It easily fit into my backpack, and the included charger wasn't a brick that weighed the bag down either. This makes it a great choice for gamers who want a powerful machine they can take to school, work, or friends house for LAN parties (do people still do those?). A Feast for the Eyes (Almost) The 16-inch IPS display offered vibrant colors and great viewing angles, perfect for sharing the screen with friends. The 165Hz refresh rate made gameplay incredibly smooth. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the matte finish. While it reduces glare, I personally prefer the glossy look for that extra pop of color. Battery Life Could Be Better, But It's Manageable The advertised 10-hour battery life is fairly accurate for light use. However, under heavy gaming loads, that number dips significantly. I managed to get a decent amount of playtime in on Overwatch 2 before needing to plug in, but for longer gaming sessions, you'll definitely need to keep the charger nearby which honestly, is every gaming laptop on the market so this isn’t a knock on the G16. A Few Minor Annoyances The pre-loaded software can be a bit overwhelming at first. There are a lot of options and settings to tweak, and it takes some time to figure out what everything does. Additionally, the keyboard backlight, while beautiful with its customizable RGB lighting, doesn't offer a standard white option, which I found odd, unless I am missing something? A Minor Quirk (Some May Love It): The Keyboard The keyboard on the Zephyrus G16 is a dream to type on. The keys have a nice amount of travel and feel very responsive. For gamers who prefer a quieter experience, this keyboard might not be ideal. The keystrokes can get a little clicky during intense gaming sessions, but some gamers might actually enjoy that tactile feedback. So, I say quirk, but I actually enjoyed it for the most part. However, some people may not be fond of the experience. Honestly, if you plan to game on it often, just get a proper keyboard anyways, but for gaming /work on the go, its good! Overall Impressions The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) is a fantastic gaming laptop that packs a serious punch. It can handle even the most demanding games with ease, and it's surprisingly portable for its power. The battery life could be better, but it's manageable for most gaming sessions. If you're a gamer looking for a powerful and portable machine that won't break the bank, the Zephyrus G16 is a strong contender. Just keep in mind the pre-loaded software quirks and the clicky keyboard (which some, like me, might actually love). Ultimately, it’s a strong offering my ASUS that doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses. Most of the quirks like the display and keyboard come down to personal preferences and aren’t deal breakers by any stretch. I highly recommend this laptop for those that want their gaming laptop to be both portable and powerful.

Cannot handle adobe premiere pro very good. Id personally prefer a different model for g16. Definitely won’t get this one

1. 1080P and DDR4 3200 RAM is not a reasonable design for the 2024 ROG. 2. There is a dent in the A face but I did not notice that until 1 month later so that I cannot return it.
